Android :: Custom Checkbox Image?

Oct 19, 2010

Is there an easy way to use a custom image for a checkbox? I'm looking to duplicate the "starred" behavior of gmail. So I want to have a checkbox that, when checked, is a filled in star. And when unchecked is an empty star. Do I have to use an imageview and do my own logic myself?

I have a LinearLayout with a ScrollView inside of it and inside of the ScrollView I have another LinearLayout. Inside the ScrollView/ LinearLayout I will have a list of CheckBoxes (with text after the CheckBox) that get added to the LinearLayout inside of the ScrollView. I also want to display an animated image next the text of the CheckBox.

Android :: Checkbox In Listview With Custom Cursor Binding

Feb 14, 2010

I think I've tried everything(made focusable:false!!) and I cant capture in anyway the selected checkbox on my list item. Even OnItemClickListener, doesn't respond to any click. How can I retrieve checked checkboxes in my list item? My list item included: image view, 4 textviews and the checkbox. Some code:

this is in my ListActivity class:
final String columns[] = new String[] { MyUsers.User._ID, MyUsers.User.MSG, MyUsers.User.LOCATION }; int[] to = new int[] { R.id.toptext, R.id.bottomtext,R.id.ChkBox, R.id.Location}; Uri myUri = Uri.parse("content://com.idan.datastorageprovider/users"); Cursor cursor = getContentResolver().query(myUri, columns, null, null, null); startManagingCursor(cursor); ListCursorAdapter myCursorAdapter=new ListCursorAdapter(this, R.layout.listitem, cursor, columns, to); this.setListAdapter(myCursorAdapter);

And this is my Custom Cursor adapter class:
public class ListCursorAdapter extends SimpleCursorAdapter { private Context context; private int layout; public ListCursorAdapter(Context context, int layout, Cursor c, String[] from, int[] to) { super(context, layout, c, from, to); this.context = context; this.layout = layout;
} @Override public View newView(Context context, Cursor cursor, ViewGroup parent) { Cursor c = getCursor(); final LayoutInflater inflater = LayoutInflater.from(context); View v = inflater.inflate(layout, parent, false); return v;
} @Override public void bindView(View v, Context context, Cursor c) { TextView topText = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.toptext); if (topText != null) { topText.setText("");
} int nameCol = c.getColumnIndex(MyUsers.User.MSG); String name = c.getString(nameCol); TextView buttomTxt = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.bottomtext); if (buttomTxt != null) { buttomTxt.setText("Message: "+name); } nameCol = c.getColumnIndex(MyUsers.User.LOCATION);
name = c.getString(nameCol); TextView location = (TextView) v.findViewById(R.id.Location);
if (locationLinkTxt != null) { locationLinkTxt.setText(name);
}
I've tried many ways. many listeners, can't figure how to capture listener to my checkboxes. The data I am binding to the list items from the database, isn't concerned about the checkbox.. only the textviews. There isn't any connection between the database and the checkbox I have in the list's item.

Android :: Creating A Custom Image Based Layout?

Sep 26, 2010

Is it possible to create a layout based on (background) images? For example, there is well know app called Appie that uses this picture as a homescreen:

I might be able to recreate the layout with a TableLayout, but this will be difficult to get it perfectly aligned with the buttons in the image. The default layout options make it very difficult, or maybe impossible, to allow for selection of the buttons on the image (especially when the buttons are in an arc-path). Can anyone tell me how this is done?

Android :: Cannot Display Image Correctly Using Custom Item Layout In ListView

Apr 22, 2010

I am using a ListView to display my custom item layout, which may contain some TextViews and an ImageView.

This is the item layout I made (post_item.xml):

CODE:........................

I don't put the ImageView initially in the xml layout, but I will insert it when I need to the FrameLayout programmatically (I also put another views in it when needed). So, there will be some items which has ImageView in it and which don't.

I get the image to fill the ImageView from the Internet (through URL), decode it as Bitmap, and keep it as a Bitmap variable in a class represents the custom item layout (class PostItem).

When the activity shows for the first time it looks fine, but as I scrolled through the items then a problem showed up, the items which shouldn't show any image show the image from the other item which should, although they don't have any ImageView (because I didn't insert it).

I am using SDK 1.6 and the emulator. Haven't tried it in real device because I don't have it.

Here is my code for the Adapter:

CODE:..............

And this is the code to prepare the items:

CODE:.........................

Is this the bug in the emulator or there is some mistake in my code (probably memory problem for the Bitmap)?

Android :: Write Contents Of Custom View To Large Image File On SD Card

Mar 12, 2010

I have a class that extends View. I override the onDraw method and allow the user to draw on the screen. I am at the point where I want to save this view as an image. I Can use buildDrawingCache and getDrawingCache to create a bitmap that I can write to the SD card. However, the image is not good quality at a large size, it has jagged edges. Since I have a View and I use Paths I can transform all by drawing to a bigger size. I just don't know how to make the Canvas bigger so when I call getDrawingCache it doesn't crop all the paths I am just transformed. What is happening is I transform all my paths but when I write the Bitmap to file I am only getting the "viewport" of the actual screen size. I want something much bigger.

Custom Drawable Making Edge Of Image Fade Out

Jan 22, 2014

I have a custom drawable, where I draw a base bitmap image, then part of an image over the top of that that is clipped to a certain rectangle. For the overlayed image, I am trying to blur the edges, and I thought I could accomplish that using a BlurMaskFilter, however, I'm not seeing any blurring occurring.

Here is the content of the draw method from my Drawable class.The result is almost correct, except the overlay image is not being blurred.

m_paint = new Paint();
m_blurPaint = new Paint();
m_blurPaint.SetMaskFilter(new BlurMaskFilter(blurRadius, BlurMaskFilter.Blur.Outer));
[code]...

This code is written in C# using Xamarin, so I realize that some things are slightly different, but the overall methods will be the same.

Motorola Droid :: Custom Boot Animation / Image Resizing

Aug 11, 2010

I am trying to put a custom boot animation on my moto droid 1. I have root I have done it before and I am using froyo. My big problem now is that I tried putting a different one I downloaded on and it worked. So I need someone to tell me whats wrong with the one I made, because I am out of ideas. I have compared size, resolution, ppi, bit depth but for some reason my images are way bigger files. The sequence was created by using virtualdub to clip a section of an animated short, then exporting an image sequence as png.

But I've fed the images through gimp and an image resizer. The frames are only some of them because I went through deleting every other frame a few times to cut down on the total size. The file is too big to attach here so i put it on my web space at:
http://www.freaksed.com/stuff/bootanimation.zip
I am using the patch that lets me put the files in datalocal and be named bootanimation.zip. it works I've tried with other animations like I said.
