Nov 25, 2010I notice that the home screen is customizable but not the four applications on the bottom, the call, email, browser and applications. How would I change those icons with different icons? Mainly the email and browser. How do I turn off or at least severly limit the data that goes to and from my phone. I do not have wireless and am just a bit paranoid about going over my data limit. I got the phone from work and this is my first smartphone so I am a bit nervous about anything I do on it.

Dec 10, 2009A few other threads exist with requests for help on making shortcuts or writing your own code for shortcuts using AnyCut or BetterCut. None of these have been active or helpful.
I am not a developer. I am trying to learn Java, Eclipse, Android SDK, Linux, and AnyCut. I am obviously lost regarding where to start in order to design and develop apps for Android.
I hope this post will become a tutorial with tips and tricks for designing shortcuts using AnyCut's "Make Your Own" option. The "Activity" option will allow most shortcuts but I want a better understanding of what to add to the Action, Data, and Type fields to design shortcuts that successfully navigate android OS.
Please add examples of Make Your Own shortcuts you have created.
Android :: BetterCut - AnyCut And Phone Contacts
Apr 28, 2010Not sure if this is a Desire problem, an HTC Sense problem or a Better/AnyCut problem but has anyone been able to make a direct icon to call or text a phone contact with either App?
I don't sync contacts or calendar to Google but use HTC Sync to sync with my desktop Outlook. It all works well, but of course it means I have no Google contacts on my handset, only phone contacts. Seems that Better/AnyCut can't see these.

Jul 30, 2010I have a Sprint Hero and I'm trying to add a shortcut to call the person I call the most. I found AnyCut, but it's not working. I open the app, hit "Direct Call" and then it simply says "No Matches Found."
How do I select a contact? Am I doing something wrong?
Are there any other free apps that I can use to create a shortcut (that I can rename and create a custom icon)?

Android :: Panda Home Won't Change Icons
Mar 1, 2010I was directed here by a VZW rep (he said this was the best place to go to get android help). I was wondering if anyone with knowledge of panda home could help me out with switching application icons on the home screen. I try to change it through the standard methods and I'm using a .png file, which I thought was the required filetype, but I get a message that says "applying..." but nothing happens. I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas. I've heard of an app called bettercut, but it seems silly to pay for an app when in theory, I already have the needed feature installed. Also, if anyone knows of where one could find a good picture for a messaging icon (to replace hand set)

Aug 4, 2010i have launcher pro on my evo and when i change my icons to the custom icons i put on the phone after a little bit they all go back to the original grey icons except for my email one. Does anyone know whats going on here? Also i cannot change the way the normal icons look. No matter how long i hold down the icon the only thing that hapens is it gives me the option to put it in the trash can.

General :: Change Status Bar Icons
Aug 3, 2013First: I have to edit the SystemUI.apk or the Framework-res.apk? (because in systemui i dont have battery icons, but yes wifi and etc); And in framework-res i have all the statusbar icons.
Second: I have to edit the .png images with patch 9.png or something?
Third: All the images to replace have to be exactly the same size of pixel? or 2 or 3 pixel more high or width doesnt matters?

Jul 1, 2012i have a custon rom on my phone, and the custom icons are not good for me, but the rest of the rom are GREAT., how i get the stock icons? just delete the modded apk and build in the original or what i have to do? i want use a tool like desktop visualizer because i will change the icons in drawer too. and i will use the stock launcher.
