I am drawing several lines on a canvas using drawline, the lines are semi transparent (their paint has an alpha value <255) only problem is that the point at which they cross creates a dot of less transparent color (obviously) is there a simple way to avoid this?

I never really liked the look of the original HTC Sense UI Lock Screen. The arc across the screen never appealed to me. So recently i switched the Nexus style one. But i kind of missed the Sense UI Lock Screen because of the additional information and capabilities it provided. So i decided to see what it would look like without the arc and just transparent. Doesn't look too bad...

I flashed the newest version Paranoid Android and now I am seeking for a lockscreen layout that can replace the iOS lockscreen notifications I got really used to.
Dashclock combined with Dash Notifier seems like a good alternative but I now have some strange lockscreen behaviour of which I don't know if it's normal or because of some settings I missed.
Every time I expand / shrink for security code input I see a semi transparent white rectangle (as seen in the pictures attached).
Is this normal? If not is there any setting I missed, if yes, is there any possibility to avoid this? I don't use any lockscreen replacement at the moment...

A very good example of what I try to achieve is shown in the application Steamy Window for Android. Steamy Window simulates a fogged window, where a user can wipe parts of the fog via touch input.

My loadMap() method generate a canvas.throwIfRecycled exception when i try to load a new map.
When i start the game, the initial map loads and work fine though,
its only when i try to load a new map that i get the exception ..

This is what I have at the moment, the problem is that the image in the imageView is not transparent, the parts that should be transparent are just black. code...
I am trying to style my ListView with two 9-patch background images (16px * 9px), one dark image for default state and another green image for selected and pressed state.
It works except for just one problem that when I select or press one list item, it seems that the selected item overlap the next one a little bit as I can see some pixels of the green background image is on the top of next item.
Is it possible to add a view dynamically that overlaps other views in the layout. I have Linear Layout defined for the activity. As part of the Layout I have a custom View. The content changes dynamically and sizes appropriately based on the content size, with fill_parent for width and wrap_content for height. But what I want is, dynamically take over the full screen and then based on a click go back to the normal mode. Is there a mode to display a view where - in it can overlap all other views in the layout?

Could be a bug with LauncherPro. I can actually press in between the top layer of widgets to access the underlying Facebook widget.

I see a lot of conflicting things online, and from what I gather...you shouldn't be charging overnight, and you shouldn't frequently do full cycle discharge. So, what is the best practice? Charging semi frequently and shutting it off at night? I dislike this because I use the phone as an alarm, and don't want to wake up with the battery starting at 90 for the day.
Also, if you're not supposed to charge overnight (which i've done with many other phones and they were fine), then if I do get the media dock...it would charge overnight every night as my alarm clock.... isn't that bad for the battery? I'm just concerned about ruining my battery, what have you guys heard, and what effects have you seen?
I am an android user, using sony xperia z with 4.3. I have problem about the google voice (GV for now) and keyboard, im not the same as everybody with missing GVT or wanting to disable it, i actually like it a lot, especially because it support my language (not english).
using voice input is easy:
1. i press the GV icon
2. i talk
3. text coming out, there will be miss typed/heard sentences
4. you know, if the system doubt your speech and want to correct it, you just tap the word with grey underline,it indicating that it have multiple option
5. then you choose the correct sentences
My step number 4 is a problem, because the correction that pop up to correcting/delete sentences is being blocked by keyboard, that is why i say it also a keyboard problem. so i cannot choose anything from it. and i have this problem since 4.2.2, the first day i upgraded it to 4.3 is okay, but suddenly it happen again. i don't think i will resetting or formatting because i have a lot of app and chat history that i cannot delete.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my vibrant and then i installed an update.zip file to fix the lag and during that process my phone's screen went black i waited like 7 minutes. the phone wouldn't do anything when i pressed the buttons so i just pulled out the battery. Now when i start the phone it goes past the S logo but with a black screen. the phone doesn't do anything at all and the lights for the menu and back touch keys stay on. I can go into recovery mode but what can I do to get my phone back?

There are two blocks of misplaced graphics on the left and right of the activity - they are two lines just bellow the titlebar with 1px height and about 5-10px width. They cause buttons to break at their left and right parts. I cannot figure out what the problem is. I am using Eclipse with Android SDK 0.9.9. The lines appear not only with the emulator but in a HTC Wildfire (Android 2.1). These lines are also visible in a newly created Android project (HelloWorld).

Is there a way to do a linear layout with multiple lines? I want to lay out a variable set of buttons with variable labels, so I'd like to use a layout that works as a simple horizontal LinearLayout, but with multiple lines, so the buttons spill into a second (or third) line if they don't fit on the first one.
