Does anyone know when display units will be available to try out in the Verizon stores? Will they not be there until the 4/29 release date? I'd really like to have the hands-on opportunity before I plunk down a couple of Benjamin's on this phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedNew Incredible user just looking for some feedback, my battery stats are the following:
Uptime: 12:06
Awake time: 2:58
Battery use:
-Android system: 34%
-Cell standby 29%
-Phone Idle 22%
-Display 8%
-Voice calls 4%
-Maps 3%
I've been reading all other posts and their android system is significantly lower is there something draining my battery?
Even having this thing sync regularly its not accurate. Where is this weather coming from? I changed to weather bug and weather channel, both free apps are way better accuracy wise.

I had her go into the voice recognizer settings but the option to train it is not there as it was on the D2.She also says it doesn't prompt her for confirmation and she can't find the setting to have it confirm before dialing. Is there an option she's missing?

Right now it's red - I'll be taking the lake home today.Holy crud muffin I love this thing.

But i kind of missed the Sense UI Lock Screen because of the additional information and capabilities it provided. So i decided to see what it would look like without the arc and just transparent. Doesn't look too bad...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am drawing several lines on a canvas using drawline, the lines are semi transparent (their paint has an alpha value <255) only problem is that the point at which they cross creates a dot of less transparent color (obviously) is there a simple way to avoid this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering what kind of knowledge you guys have about the LI-ION batteries in this badboy. I see a lot of conflicting things online, and from what I gather...you shouldn't be charging overnight, and you shouldn't frequently do full cycle discharge. So, what is the best practice? Charging semi frequently and shutting it off at night? I dislike this because I use the phone as an alarm, and don't want to wake up with the battery starting at 90 for the day.
Also, if you're not supposed to charge overnight (which i've done with many other phones and they were fine), then if I do get the media dock...it would charge overnight every night as my alarm clock.... isn't that bad for the battery? I'm just concerned about ruining my battery, what have you guys heard, and what effects have you seen?
After 2 years I am finally back from iOS to Android 4.4.2 on my new Nexus 5.
I flashed the newest version Paranoid Android and now I am seeking for a lockscreen layout that can replace the iOS lockscreen notifications I got really used to.
Dashclock combined with Dash Notifier seems like a good alternative but I now have some strange lockscreen behaviour of which I don't know if it's normal or because of some settings I missed.
Every time I expand / shrink for security code input I see a semi transparent white rectangle (as seen in the pictures attached).
Is this normal? If not is there any setting I missed, if yes, is there any possibility to avoid this? I don't use any lockscreen replacement at the moment...
I want to know how to make the notification pull menu semi-transparent on a custom ROM.I am no developer...I am using ARHD Rom and want to make the notification pull down menu semi-transparent like in ViperX ROM.

Freakin' sweet. I have to run to a b'day party, but it is beyond amazing. Not too heavy, fits in your pant pockets very well. Meow!

I'm starting to design my object graph for an OpenGL ES 1.1 app on Android. What's advisable when it comes to actually drawing my triangles and controlling their size? Should I store all the vertices in units relative to each other and then multiply them by a value I pass during a draw(GL10 gl)? Would this approach have any impact when it comes time to do frustum culling?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy project has the run-of-the-mill HTTP calls to fetch XML files, parsing the XML files, and creating domain objects. Those objects are later used in the actions and services of the Android app, I'd like to isolate that code. I also want to write tests for it. What are some good ways of doing this? Creating an Android Library doesn't seem appropriate. The tests would have to be in a separate project. And there are no services or activities in the extracted HTTP and XML related code. So the test suite doesn't have to be an Android test suite, it could be regular JUnit tests.

I'm (natively) calling this:
int maxt = 0;
glGetIntegerv(GL_MAX_TEXTURE_UNITS, &maxt);
__android_log_print(ANDROID_LOG_VERBOSE, "Native", "Max textures %d", maxt);
This only outputs 2... could it be possible that I'm going to be allowed only 2 textures? That seems impossible... GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE reports 4096 which is more than enough. I suppose you could lay everything out on a couple of 4096x 4096 images (seems a bit crazy) but anyway... Am I just running into one of things that will be different per phone processor?
I've got the hard-coded layout, consisting of buttons, and need to enlarge some of them. I found Button's method setWidth(int value), accepting width in pixels, but I need to set value in dp. So, how can I set dp value in program code?
