Android :: Best Apps For Disabling Unnecessary Features - 3g Data Bluetooth Sync & Etc
Jan 20, 2010I am trying to save battery and speed up my phone. I know that I can in to setting to disable all these extra features, but I heard from someone that, "even though you disabled it, the phone will still continue to try to pick up these services, like 3G). Is there a app that will fully disable these features?
Also is there anyway up speeding up my phone. I have a Rooted T-Mobile MyTouch 3G w/ the CyanogenMod 4.2.13. I heard that there is a "10MB Hack", but I also heard that it will slow down your games.

Jun 25, 2010I have been using Evo as my primary phone for 2 weeks and I do not see any battery problems. Am I the exception?
I am a heavy user with about 70 texts, 20-30 emails per day, 1-1.5hour phone usage, occasional web surfing (1-1.5hour), listening to music (30min morning + 30min evening), GPS on all the time (but no GPS using apps running), Facebook and Sense. I didn't turn on Bluetooth or Wifi or 4G. This is a typical day for me. With this kind of usage my battery easily lasts the whole day and well into the night.

Jul 21, 2010I'm new to Android. I recently was an iPhone fan but thought that Android was a better alternative to iPhone. So anyway, I have a few questions about the Captivate. Does Android have support for apps that you can use to password protect certain apps on the phone? Like messages, and photos for more private stuff. Another question I have: is the Captivates reception really bad? I currently have the iPhone 4 while it doesn't have the best of signal, its not too bad either. And my last question is if the captivate has support for 32gb cards. I'm sorry if someones already gone over these but I could find anything right away. Anyways, I look forward to Android and the Captivate.

Jul 10, 2010I released updates of my apps yesterday and they are being hidden from android 1.5 and 1.6 phones.
This is due to a Market bug which hides apps with bluetooth permissions from android 1.5 and 1.6.
Come on Google fix the market. We spend countless hours making are apps work on ALL android versions and now you do this...
This issue has been raised since June, but has only affected me since i made an update to the market yesterday.

The UUID is the standard one for HID devices. - Paired the phone with a Windows PC - The phone is recognized as "Bluetooth HID device, but I get the error "Device driver software was not successfully installed"
Does anyone know what steps can be taken next to make it work? I think I should register a SDP service record, but I'm not sure if Android Bluetooth API has support for this.

Oct 16, 2010I was wondering if anyone knew of an app that could make an Android phone act as as a bluetooth receiver. The phone being a deactivated Droid ERIS I have laying around that I'm not using. What I want to be able to do is connect my laptop to the ERIS with bluetooth (laptop has bluetooth connectivity) and have my laptops audio go to the ERIS (ERIS would be plugged into a set of speakers through it's 3.5mm headphone jack). In essence, the opposite of what people usually use a phones bluetooth connectivity for. Anyone know of an app that can do this?

Turn on Vlingo In-Car.
Turn on Bluetooth headset and pair it w/ your phone.
Make a phone call and then hang up.
TURN OFF YOUR BLUETOOTH HEADSET.
WHen I do that, my phone RESETS. I think it's only w/ Vlingo in car on, regular bluetooth doesn't do that. (ALTHOUGH, my phone resets if I use gps, charge, use bluetooth, and talk at the same time....) Let me know if it's only an Incredible thing, or HTC thing, or all android thing...

Nov 18, 2012I connect my GNex via MHL to my TV. I also have a Nexus 7. Is there any possible way to use my N7 as a remote control/bluetooth keyboard to control my GNex? Run a VNC Server on the phone and a VNC Viewer on the tablet, but this is laggy.
