I am trying out the Beejive MultiIM app and its draining my battery quickly. So quick I am down to 50% in only 5 hours with no use, it's just running. I also hardly used anything on the phone today so it has to be Beejive killing it. What do people use for IM that doesn't kill battery life?

Why can't we just get a good IM app like beejive for android? I have an iPod Touch and every IM app I've seen in the apple app store blows anything we got. Meebo, ebuddu, hi aim, yahoo and all that other crap sucks compared to the iPhone IMs. Is there a way to contact google or someone incharge of the market place to add more IM apps?

Ok So I've gone through several tutorials on the web. I understand how the pointerCount works , I can get two points, etc, etc. My problem is I am trying to implement a game control, i.e. dpad and some buttons. The "buttons" are actually TextView objects with images. I Implement OnTouchListener Interface. my onTouch Method gets called when it should. The problem is if I have finger #1 on button a then press finger #2 on button b my OnTouch() method is called with the view of button a, not button b. Fine then I will just get the bounds of the buttons and see if they intersect with the points clicked. No luck, It seems as though the points that come in the MotionEvent are not relative to 0,0 , but to some other coordinate system. I would have thought all points were relative to upper left of screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know about a software keyboard that would replicate the experience of using an old-style phone keypad, without the predictive stuff?
I mean one where you could tap a button once for A, twice for B, three times for C? (similarly the next key would be 1=D, 2=E, 3=F, etc.)
I would think this would have the advantage of being much more accurate than the standard keyboard (where it can be a little tricky to hit the right key), whilst avoiding the unpredictability of predictive texting (with this scheme, you always get an 'O' when you press the '6' area 3 times, you don't have to worry about the software trying to second-guess what you might have wanted).
I've tried out a number of apps, handycent keyboard is in the right direction, but does the predictive stuff; slidetype is a nice idea, but still not totally convinced...
I want to control several devices with adb command "adb -s <serial number>" but the serial number of my devices are all the same, so the command can't work.And I think I should modify the adb both the host and the client side.Would you please give me some suggestions?

View 12 Replies View RelatedApparently my T-Mobile G2 (HTC Hero) multi-tasks. Why is it then, that I might be playing a game (say Puzzle Attack) and I get a new email notification. I slide down the notification bar, click the email notification, read the notification, go back to Puzzle Attack and it takes me to the main menu. This happens on, I think, every single game I have played. Is there something that the app developers can do to force the app to close instead of simply going to the background? Is it *really* multi-tasking?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of a way to get your 'All Apps' screen to be a fixed multi page view rather than a scrolling list. When it's a scrolling list, it's hard to find what you are looking for quickly, as you first have to work out where you are on the list, then scroll to the required area of the list and find the app (which is always on a different place on the screen as the list moves (ie sometimes it could be at the top, sometimes at the bottom, somtimes in the middle).
On a fixed multi page view, you only need to work out which page you're on, then the app you are looking for will be in a fixed place on it's page (i.e. always top right spot on page 2). I appreciate that this is not a huge time-saving issue, but it would be helpful for me, and sometimes those few extra seconds why trying to find the 'messaging' app can be a pain in the neck. I downloaded some nice wall papers so at the moment am trying out having very clean homescreens, hence using the 'all apps' a lot more.
As we've all heard countless times, the Droid supports multi touch capabilities, but does not include them in the onboard software. Are any Dev's out there working on a multi touch capable software keyboard? I'm sure the majority of the Droid-owning population would shell out $$ for one...that should be incentive enough.

My question is can I put a button there that access the Settings of Better Keyboard, specifically toggles the "Muli-Tap" setting. Alternatively I would be curious if a button like the one in the bottom "?123" could be changed to say bring up the full Qwerty when in Compact Qwerty, or even vice-versa.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWas just curious if there were any multi IM clients (meaning, ones that have AOL, Yahoo, Facebook, MSN etc all in one) that had push notifications? The one thing I miss on my Blackberry was the IM+ program. I could set it so that I could receive IM's via email (which come's in handy when working in a hospital and the signal goes out at times).
So whenever someone messaged me, I would get it in my email when I had a signal and respond back via email. Is there anything like this out there for me on my HTC Hero Firmware 1.5? I currently use the free eBUDDY program and have slightly tried out the free IM+ and Palringo. But I am not having any luck with finding one that has the push notification.
is it possible to send email with multi attachments? Because what i see is only Intent.EXTRA_STREAM to attach the file, and it's only one file.

I understand is something that Apple Created with their Iphone, but G1 has a lot of petential and multi touch i needed for the sucess of this product. Google works with Apple and I am sure you can implement that feature with the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMaybe it's just semantics, but I feel the need to see how others feel about this.I have always loathed the computer term "cut and paste" because you actually COPY and paste, at least that goes for 99.999% of my usage with those functions. So now the question is, do we apply the same reverse terminology to this fictional, mystical, function, that we have only seen in fuzzy Youtube videos? The reason I ask this is. the initial view of any web page that I visit, I see the whole page, and if I want to be able to read a particular column I would need to zoom into it, but here is where the terminology gets confusing, because in my experience with other devices that use such technology ie: iPod, to zoom in you actually use a stretch motion to zoom in, and a pinch motion to zoom out. I know semantics, you have to pinch to make it zoom one way or the other, but since the most commonly used zoom feature would be to zoom in, it should be called stretch-zoom instead. So how do you feel? Pinch-zoom Stretch-zoom or just plain old Multi-touch.
