View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my project, in the res/drawable directory I have:
CODE:.......................
When I put the app on my HTC Hero, it works fine. But if I reboot the phone, the application icon stops using the icon.png, and instead begins to use the go_bg.png. The button that uses the go.xml no longer works either. Rebooting the phone basically breaks the app. I can reinstall the app and it again works fine all up until I reboot.
I know of two ways to get the app on the phone, first using Eclipse and second using the HTC Sync software that came with the phone. Installing the app either way produces the same issues in the end.
I've tried renaming the button image names and the xml file. Nothing helps there.
My phone is the HTC Hero. In Eclipse I'm building using the 1.5 SDK.
Any idea why rebooting my phone breaks my app?
I'm trying to programmatically reboot the phone by pressing a button.
Currently I'm doing something like this:
CODE:...............
Where _rebootButton is an instance of Button (of course @_@).
However it does not do the job.
I want to get all the log info from phone reboot to enter IDLE screen. Using this reboot log info, I can debug some initialized prcocess.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone soft reboots every few seconds, gets as far as "HTC, Quietly Brilliant" and then reboots, anyone had this before and know of a solution? I've googled around but most people with a reboot issue it is random, mine is constant and has been rebooting constantly for over an hour, only way to stop it is yank out the battery but still can't boot afterwards.

lately what the november ota update came out I haven't been able to update. I accept the prompt and it says the update will be installed after the required reboot...after the counter counts down the phone doesn't reboot. I tried to clear the storage, I did a factory reset, then I even did the how to downgrade to factory 2.2 (http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/99828-video-howto-unroot-incredible-downgrading.html)...when I was prompted to update again the end result was the same....
How do you reboot your HTC Hero? Pull the battery?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went through the long process of setting up my new Evo LTE yesterday. Basically, installing and configuring a bunch of apps. Everything was looking good and working well. So the last thing that I decided to do last night was to give it a reboot. I saw it reboot (and was nice and fast) so I walked away. When I came back I noticed that it seemed to be rebooting again. So I watched it. The phone starts up and I can unlock it. I see items in the notification bar starting, I see a message right above the bottom menu bar appear stating "Content update error. Try again later.", and then about 30 seconds later the screen goes gray and then reboots. I have time to get in and look at settings and uninstall things - about 1 minute. But I really do not know where to start.
Is there a way of preventing apps from auto starting at boot? The phone is stock (no root).
any app to reboot phone without root?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI may just be losing it, but is there a way to reboot the Epic via key combo? i.e. to reboot the i Phone you just continue to hold power, to reboot a blackberry you do crtl + right caps + delete...but there doesn't seem to be any way to reboot the epic and it is really, really annoying. Been having this bug that Tasker is causing and I need to reboot the phone every morning, and I need to do it once I get away from my home wifi, so when I walk out of the building I have to keep fiddling with the on and off buttons while walking...long story short I would really like an easier way of doing a quick and easy reboot that doesn't require extra steps to turn the phone back on once I've turned it off.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was just curious how often you reboot your phones? Since I've stopped using a task killer and letting android manage things, I've been having to do it twice a day to keep it speedy and usable. Usually in the morning I reboot, read my rss feeds, check this forum & facebook (browser), some emails and some light texting. Once I get to working around 7:30am (I work landscaping) I pop in the earbuds and listen to soma fm with droid live lite till lunch at 11:15. Lunch time I plug in the phone for about 40 minutes to boost up the battery to get me through my music habit for the rest of the workday which ends at 3pm.
I've noticed that if I don't reboot after lunch, my phone is just sluggish and slow as can be. Especially if I've got droid live running and I get a text or an email. I only run two widgets, the "flip clock" and the small style calendar underneath it on my home screen. So I don't think that has much of an effect on my phones performance in the long run. When I was using a task killer, the only time I would reboot was when I woke up in the morning and I was good for the rest of the day. I've been considering running a task killer again, as android doesn't seem to be doing as great of a job managing things as I'd like, but I wanna hear some of your input and experiences first.
last night went from 2.1 to 2.2. Now when I turn off the phone or reboot it with bootstrapper etc it gets stuck at the M but.. If I pull the battery it boots up fine...any ideas? Or a way to fix?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have SPRecovery (haven't updated it in a long time) on my phone as well as the latest version of ClockworkMod/ROM Manager. I cannot install or backup ROMs because RM won't reboot into SPRecovery. Also, I cannot manually reboot into SPRecovery...power + X takes me right to the Motorola flash screen. What's going on here?
How can I check to see if I have SPRecovery installed? Sorry, but it's been awhile and although I've been rooted for a long time and have flashed many ROMs, I don't do it often any more and I'm afraid that somehow (I have NO idea) that SPRecovery may have been removed or something...even though I have the latest version of clockworkMOD/ROM Manager.
Seems there might be a trend towards phones coming with non-removeable batteries.
Is there a definite way of rebooting one of these phones if it crashes or freezes on the odd occasion?
s3 doesn't reboot after the 4.3 upgrade on the unlocked phone
Today, i updated my new unlocked Samsung galaxy s3 gt-9300 from JellyBean 4.1.2. to Official JellyBean 4.3 using below mentioned file
I9300XWUGML4_I9300ODDGML4_I9300DDUGMK1_HOME.tar.md 5
After successful upgrade using the odin 3.07, the phone didn't reboot automatically. Instead, keeps on blinking the initial screen "Samsung galaxy s3 GT9300" how to resolve this issue,
So my Samsung Moment was going pretty slow so I thought I'd reboot it to refresh it but now it just stays on the Samsung glowing sign. The screen will go dark as if to boot up but just ends up going back to the Samsung glowing letters. This phone is a mess! Why would they release something so unstable?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone Friday and it is now Tuesday(Got my phone in August). I installed some apps that are rooted only. Tethering, Overclock Widget, Titanium Backup, ROM manager. When I tried to install a new ROM I was getting download errors. I saw something about ADW.Launcher so I downloaded that and got a theme for it. Today when I reinstalled the Cyanogen 6.0.0. Stable release and rebooted my phone I would get to the Motorola Symbol. After that I got to my custom boot image(Dancing Droids). The image got half way doing its animation it restarted from the begging this continued until I took out the battery. Went into recovery mod and the Cyanogen boot image appeared and did the same as my Dancing Droid but completed 1 1/2 circles with the blue flame. When I got home I plugged in my phone flashed a 2.2 FRG22D.sbf file. I then used RSD lite and connected my phone. Had some trouble flashing the file but eventually got it. When I went back to the boot loader screen and cleared my cache/data(thought it would help) I restarted my phone. Watched and Motorola symbol appear and posted this 1 hour later. Can someone please tell me what I did wrong or what to do?
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have the phone for about 2 weeks now, with 3-4 hours daily use. In the middle of a call this morning, it went silent and when turned on again, it displayed "SIM card removed. Reboot phone". I took the card out and put back in 3 times, but it still happens. Wi-Fi is working, phone is still running apps. I tried to press the SIM card tightly while trying to connect, but it's no good. A quick Google search does not show many people with this problem. Anyone has a quick solution before I call ATT or Samsung?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi bought my wife a Cliq exactly 14 days ago. Since then I received some type of update within the first few days. After that it went downhill. The phone would turn off randomly and reboot (I deleted her apps and installed only ones that were trust worthy.etc), put calls on speaker phone while on the phone or just hang up (maybe bad proximity sensor) and some of the camera functions were no working (the only way for her to snap a pic was by touch. The side button wouldn't work). The lady was surprised that it was acting up at the corp store as she said " we never get these back" but hey, they took it hassle free.
