I bought a great little app that turns my screen off my tapping it instead of having to use the mechanical button on the top of the phone. It's called "Screen Off". Does anyone know of an app that will allow me to turn my phone on by doing something like long clicking on the home button or something like that?

so you know when you use this phone , it turns off like every 30 -40 sec when we not using it , we have to turn on the screen by press the power button on the side. THEN I HAVE TO unlock by slide.is there anyway i can click on the screen to show up the screen to unlock .

I turned off the notifcation for the gmail app but cant seem to find where i can unistall it or turn it off in a sense. Basically my emails are being sent both to k9 and gmail app.
2. can you change the notifcation led light for the k9 app? currently it blinks purple when an email comes in and I cant seem to change it like I can with hancent or phone calls.
Does anyone has an idea of how to split the screen into two? Is it possible for me to run an application in one screen and another app in other screen?

WindowManager.LayoutParams lp = getWindow().getAttributes();
lp.screenBrightness = 0f;

But if I want to turn on screen:
lp.screenBrightness = 1f;
getWindow().setAttributes(lp);
Screen not turn on.
if lp.screenBrightness = 0.02f;
screen change bright, but not turn off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking about using a hidden api to turn the screen off in my app. setScreenState from http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/frameworks/base.git;a=blob;f=core/java/android/os/Power.java does what I want, but its a hidden API. Does that mean I shouldn't use it? I would think its a fairly stable api.
Currently, I'm setting the screen timeout to 1 millisecond, and then resetting the timeout once the screen turns off. However, android ignores the 1 millisecond and instead it takes about 3 seconds to turn off and sometimes it ignores it completely and doesn't turn off.
Any suggestions?
I know you can do it with launcherpro, but I want to keep the sense launcher. I'm rooted so I can modify something if I need to. I'm hoping theres just another app I can download to do what I what.

When Android phone receives an incoming call from a specific number the phone's ringing should stop and also the screen should not blink. What I mean is the user should not be able to know that there was incoming call, but actually there was.
I do not want to delete any call logs, just to stop sound on incoming call from a specific number and that too at a specific time.
On the applications screen, (the one which you drag up from the bottom of the home screen), is there any way to create folders there and re-organise the position of apps? I know that you can create folders on the home screens, but this isn't what I want to do. I would love to be able to create a folder that I can dump all of the programs I will never use but which Sony will not allow me to delete, (you know the ones - moxier etc!!)

It's been charging for hours now so I know it has battery. When I plug in the USB cable, I hear the little bell that means USB debugging is turned on but there is nothing on the screen.
