I have a ListView that I'm populating from a custom ListAdapter. Inside the Adapter (in the getView(int, View, ViewGroup) method) I'm setting the background color of the View using setBackgroundColor(int). The problem is that no matter what color I set the background to it always comes out a dark grey. It might also be worth noting that I'm using the Light theme.

This is my first app so finding my way around bit by bit and have been experimenting a little and would like to change the background colour to a colour from a list.Currently it loads a white background specified in strings.xml <color name="all_white">#FFFFFF</color> This is used in main.xml:android: background=" @color/all _white"Ideally I would like to change the colour in OnCreate() to a colour of my choice. When I use the below files I get a list where all item backgrounds are initially blue.(I expected white)When I move the focus up and down the text just changes to a dark grey and the item backgrounds are still blue. (This is when I would expect a single row to be blue with the rest white)When I click on a row the background of the row I clicked on turns black and all other rows turned green.(I expected to have the row I clicked turn green and the rest be white)

Im trying to change background color when an item is selected. Something like using a color selector, but actually it crashes. I've created a list_selector.xml inside /res/color/.<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"><item android:state_focused="true" android:color ="@ color/ plain_yellow"/><item android:state_pressed="true" android:state_enabled="false" android:color ="@color /plain _yellow" /><item android:state_enabled="false" android:color="@color/ plain_yellow" /><item android: state_active="true" android:color="@color/ plain_yellow" /><item android:color="@android: color/ transparent" /></selector> plain_yellow is a color i've defined in /res/values. If the data in the listview do not contain the data of user choice then user should be able to enter data. If the data is already there in the list user will be able to select the data using custom selector. If a selection is made in the list view and user wanted to enter data in the text field at the bottom after selection then the marker in the list view should be unselected. I tried to use onclick() method on edit text using click listener. First time when it is clicked, edit text is getting focus and onclick() method is not fired. And when it is clicked second time, onclick() method is fired and notifyDataSetChanged() method is called. I tried to call the notifyDataSetChanged() method from the Focus Listener, list view selection is gone in my first attempt and edit text is not receiving any data input from the keyboard (frozen).

I've made the required drawbles-hdpi / -mdpi - ldpi-v4 folders. Everything is looking great across various AVDs of HVGA/WVGA shapes and sizes.
Everything, except my tabs.
In AVDs running Android 1.5 and 1.6, my tab background colors are appropriate: http://www.shelvesforandroid.com/1p6below.png
However, for platforms running 2.1 and above, something seems to have gone awry:

Notice that the unselected tab color is correct, but the selected tab looks like it's just bleeding the same color as my images.
What can I do to fix this? Enforce the background color to be the same as 1.6-era ?

I cant find anywhere how to change the Text COLOR in a webview. I can change the background color but not the Text.
Any Ideas? I want my webview to be white text on a black background instead of black text on a white background.
I have a list view and an adapter that sets alternating background colors to the list items ("zebra" list style):

But now, when i select an item using scroll wheel, or when I click an item, the original colors for selecting/clicking do not override my custom backgrounds (I can see the original color below the one I set).
How can I set the original colors for these states?

On my Droid X, all system buttons and lists, when pressed, are a bright red color. I want to find out how I can change this color. I'm not that familiar with android, so I don't know if this is an issue that can be solved via themes, or if I need to go deeper into the OS.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I have the nexus 3D gallery app installed on my 2.1 Eris. It works fine other than it refuses to generate thumbnails sometimes. They just show up as grey boxes. Once it finally does generate the thumbnails, it's fine, but sometimes they just won't generate. For example, I took some pics this past Sunday and the thumbnails are still just showing up as grey boxes. It takes several cycles of closing gallery, opening gallery, closing, opening, etc. etc. to get it to finally generate all the thumbnails, then they're fine. Oh, and sometimes they don't show up at all. Seems this app is very buggy on the Eris.

So far every view I set up worked fine, but now I am trying to create a ListView (including single_choice_mode) within a child view of the ViewFlipper, but my attempt only let to a NullPointerException. View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i ran my old application in 1.6 i noticed that the progress bar was not showing up on the screen.When i analyzed it further i found the issue.The progress bar is getting activated but its not visible since my background color is also white.When i changed the background color i was able to see the progress bar.Is there no other way to make the progress bar visible other than changing the background color..Shouldn't the progress bar be visible under all background colors??
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a multiple selection list where the selection is represented graphically rather than with checkboxes.My list has checkboxes, but I want them to serve a different purpose. I'm using a cursor to hold my data and created a custom view binder for the SimpleCursorAdapter. I did this for the checkboxes and general flexibility.So far I haven't even been able to show one line as being selected. I've enabled multiple selection on the list and denied the children of the list item focusability. I've tried manually changing background color with the position fed in through the list item click listener. But the wrong items get changed and they don't even change to the right color. I've enabled touch focusability with no improvement either.Ideally, I'd like the trackball highlight focus bar to appear in multiple places. But I don't think this is possible unless you use the drawable directly. But I don't know how to find or apply it. My next idea was to have a slim view bar that changes color. But I had the same problem with the wrong item being selected so I never finished trying to guess the index position to see if this would work. My most recent idea is to completely swap out the view for another one if it's selected. But I have no idea how to do this either. I'm thinking of using an array list to store the _id s of the items that need a different view to get around the wierd selection problem. I'm also thinking of passing in the ID field as my from and the selection view as the to for my adapter. Then I'd intercept it with my binder and change the view accordingly. But once again, I'm not sure how to do this successfuly.

The same thing happens if I put the TextView after the ListView, but then I will only see the ListView. Is there a way to get a text view above the ListView without to much of a hassle?
