I have just got an X10 and find the messages - white writing on light blue background almost impossible to read. How do I change the text and background colors.?

I try an grab a picture from the internet an use that as my background but its huge an blurry an cant seem to change the size of it for my background.Any one know if this is possible? And if so HOW?

View 13 Replies View RelatedMy app was built on the Android 1.5 platform. I'm in the process of bumping the APIs used to 2.1 . I am still leaving minSdkVersion=3 / targetSdkVersion = 7 in order to support older platforms.
I've made the required drawbles-hdpi / -mdpi - ldpi-v4 folders. Everything is looking great across various AVDs of HVGA/WVGA shapes and sizes.
Everything, except my tabs.
In AVDs running Android 1.5 and 1.6, my tab background colors are appropriate: http://www.shelvesforandroid.com/1p6below.png
However, for platforms running 2.1 and above, something seems to have gone awry:

Notice that the unselected tab color is correct, but the selected tab looks like it's just bleeding the same color as my images.
What can I do to fix this? Enforce the background color to be the same as 1.6-era ?
What is causing this tab color change?
How can you tell what apps are running without having to install third party applications. can you look at a stock x10 and see what apps are running in the background.

I took a picture and then installed it as my background. I'm not happy with it and so I want to change it back to normal settings. Where on this phone can I do that? I've searched and I also deleted the picture, hoping the background would disappear with it, but nothing happens.

I've tried the "Force Off" function under Apps Settings, but still the Battery-use screen shows the radio as running. Is there a way to quickly check what apps are running in the background, and - preferably - easily switch them off?

e.g. let's say i had sent out a text stating; "Hi John, I will be at yours next week - you can email me at berty@bassett.com if you need me to bring anything"
so a few days later I'd start a new text. By the time I'd wrote "Hi" the system would offer me the next word as "John" - it had kind of learned what it thought I might want to say next. This was incredibly useful when entering email addresses into form pages.
Now, when I type "Hi", it offers stupid suggestions like "Hit, High, Hill" and other completely unrelated junk.
If I enable predictive texts, it auto fixes words that don't need auto fixing. I sent a text to my sister saying "lolzalot" and by the time I realised what had gone on, it had instead replaced my word with "locally"
Why is this new way of doing things so poor compared to the old 1.6 way? Or at least, how can I get it back to being like it should be.
How do i set so the ADW launcher is when i press home? Before i just pressed the homehardbutton and i could choose but not working.

View 29 Replies View RelatedI just bought an xperia white, mostly because i heard it was a decent starter smart phone and because it was the best one my provider offered. i was fooling around with it on lunch and added a signature to my texts and now WHENEVER i text for EVERY single text, my name comes up beside it. i've only found one thread about it on the forums, and there was no solution. I like the versatility and styling of the OS texting, and tbh absolute hate the handcent styling. Not to mention i don't really want to have two competing messaging apps on my phone at once..
View 5 Replies View RelatedSetup up the MMS APN correctly in mobile networks, if there is nothing in there, select sony erricson in the top menu in side settings, and download network settings.
Go into the MMS APN and setup as per the attached document.
Basically when a text is more than 1 is goes via MMS hence it's failing because the settings for this for vodafone on the X10 are incomplete...figures!!
Once your done power the phone down, take out the sim card power the phone back on.
Once in turn it off put the Sim card back in power up and your done you can now send
