View 2 RepliesI have an issue where occasionally a call will go straight to my voicemail without ringing or otherwise notifying until there suddenly appears a voicemail. And I don't think it even shows up as a missed call. Anyone else have this happen or know what the cause may be? My phone is set to ring & vibrate, and is usually just sitting there asleep. I'm not on another call or otherwise using it. But I can test call it right after and it's fine. Frustrating.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking for an application that will send my calls directly to voicemail with no ring in between. I still want to be able to send and receive texts. I am trying to simulate my phone being turned off. If the caller hears even one ring, it will be assumed I am hitting ignore. Does such an application exist?

View 10 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, my Pone does not ring when there is incoming calls. I ported my number on Thursday and on Friday, I had rings with incoming calls. But since yesterday, I have not heard any rings. Calls are going straight to VM. I thought it was a Google Voice thing. GV is known to have this problem in the past.) Then, I disabled my cell number from GV and calls are directed to the Verizon VM. I have not changed any settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an application for Android 2.2 that should send an SMS immediately when the phone starts ringing (under UMTS/GSM). I'm using the android.telephony.SmsManager.sendTextMessage for sending the SMS. The app is working fine under the emulator, i.e. when I call the emulator phone from another emulator, the SMS is sent instantly. However, when I'm testing the application on HTC Desire, the SMS sending only succeeds after the phone has stopped ringing. Is there anything that could be done about this or is it just a restriction of the HTC Desire device? Seems strange as it's working fine under emulator and it shouldn't be a restriction of the network..
View 4 Replies View RelatedGoogle voice has been sort of flaky for me since I started using it.
I use my old number, and I only use google voice for voicemail, I have it set up on my phone and in google voice.
Sometimes if I decline a call they will get a verizon error message. And today out of boredom I called my cell phone from my work phone and it just rang...and rang...and rang....and rang...and voicemail never picked up. But then I got a notification from google voice that I had an 18 second long message which was completely silent. I did it again, same result.
I logged into google.com/voice and confirmed that my greeting is set up.
It's sad, because I love google voice. But if voicemail doesn't work then it has no value...I can't have people calling me hearing error messages or never getting to leave a message.
Ive implement simple udp server on my Android device.(sdk 1.5) it works fine when i am running a local client on the phone sends through it trigger to my server. but when i try to get udp call from an outside server to my phone, it doesn't work. already make sure the outside server isn't blocked by firewall and it's sending the udp trigger to the right port, which my phone is listening to.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife just got the D2 a few weeks ago. It was working flawlessly. We put on a Azure case and Skinomi cover on the front screen 2 weeks ago. Starting last week she started to had a few of occasions it doesn't ring but goes straight to voice mail. Not always from the same caller. No unusual apps running. She also always has her Data turned off because she has the $15 dollar plan. She only uses the wifi's. She is not using Google voice. She is getting to the point that she is wondering if she should take her phone back because she has no clue who is calling because it does not say missed call she only knows if they call if they leave a voice mail.

Basically i just want an email app that lets me delete things and actually delete them rather than just deleting them on my phone and not on the actual server and obviously being able to send and recieve emails would also be good.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0
Operating system: Android 2.2
Question:-
My mobile is always on silent.. Because of my professional requirements.
What I am looking is a software by which I can add specific numbers (my wife; my dad and my mom and my boss).. These four numbers I want to add to a list which will always ring even if my mobile is on silent mode.
So just yesterday 12-1-09 my phone stopped receiving text messages and phone calls. People try to call me and get 4 rings then voicemail. My phone doesnt ring at all. I can place calls and browse the internet, run sprint navigation and all my apps just fine. It has been a perfect phone ever since I bought it. (11-01-09). I did a factory Hard Reset and still my phone didnt receive calls. Called Sprint and they had me turn off my phone and refreshed some info. Had to change the MSID # when i turned my phone back on but still nothing. Has anyone else had this happen to them. The only way I can receive my text messages is if I place a call then they seem to come through.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know there is a way to send contacts straight to voicemail but is there an app that can block calls or can someone please make one.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAlthough there are a few threads about calls going straight to voice mail in other phone sections, I have yet to see one here. From what I read, there isn't a solution, but I still want to ask being that it is now happening to my Sprint Hero. Anyone know what causes it, or if there is a setting one can change to stop it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt seems as if my phone doesnt saying 3G it just shows bars doesnt even show 1X. Im wondering if there is a setting im missing or do i need to reset/update something.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a contact setup and have enabled the option to have their calls go directly to voicemail. I've got every number I know for this person listed. Seems like that's all I really need to do. So why am I here watchinghearing my phone ring right now on my desk and yes it's from the contact in question? I mean we've all got at least 1 person that we just do NOT want to talk to when they call. I can deal with a voicemail and call them back when I'm ready. But when I reach for my ringing phone and I see that contact's name. all I can say is WTF?

Sometimes, when I receive calls, the phone will ring 2 or three times before going to voicemail - it is almost like I am rejecting the calls, which I know I'm not, as it tends to happen when I'm not even touching the phone.
Phone details are as follows:
Samsung Galaxy
O2 UK
Firmware 1.5
Baseband I7500XXII4
Kernel 2.6.27
I just "upgraded" from a Motorola droid to the HTC Incredible. I run the IT dept for my company and I get a lot of solicitation calls. On the Moto Droid, I created a contact called Ftards, everytime I get a call from somebody I don't want to talk to I add them to that contact, worked brilliantly.
Did the same thing on the Incredible, but it doesn't seem to work. I did a hard reset and created one contact, it worked, then I synced my exchange, still working, but when I woke up this morning, I got a call from Ftards and it came right through. The setting still says "on" but it isn't sending to voicemail
Is there a way to get rid of the HTC app "People" and install the Motorola app "contacts" This is driving me a little crazy..
Oh, and on a related note, if I assign a ringtone to a specific contact, that doesn't work either, it just plays the default ringtone when they call.
I have used my Hero in 2 different countries and I get the same problem: Regardless of signal connection, I miss half (a guess) of all calls made to me. People tell me it finally dials after a few straight-to-voicemail tries. This didn't happen with any of my previous phones (Nokias and Motos), in both of the aforementioned countries. I really hope my rubber case has all to do with this because I bought the phone from eBay (i.e. no warranty).
View 17 Replies View RelatedSo I just called Verizon, my original Eris was returned because I couldn't answer calls before they went to voicemail, and now I have the silent speaker bug, I can't hear anyone on through the speaker and they can't hear me on the other side. Has anyone had luck with the replacements? Maybe I'm just getting bad ones.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCertain callers will always leave a message saying "it's me, call me back" or something similar that is a PITA to have as a message.
Is there a way to disable calls from certain numbers from going to voicemail?
I saw that previous versions of android allowed you to send specific callers directly to voicemail, but I can seem to figure it out for this phone. Can anybody let me know or suggest an app that works with the evo?
