Android :: Accessing Droid Moto Corporate Calendar Database For My Widget
Dec 10, 2009
I'm looking for a way to access the Corporate Calendar information/ database on the Droid. I know it can be done since I have seen a few folks promote supporting being able to read this information, but have found zero info on it. how to read this?

I don't use the Corporate Calendar, is there ANY way to prevent it from starting on its own and consuming resources? I'd rather not buy an app to close it every 30 mins...

I just received the OTA last night for 2.1 and now it looks like MP3 store keeps popping back up as a running app. Is there anyway to kill it completely? Same with corporate calendar?

I have been getting the message 'as meeting organizer no response is required' in Outlook when people send me updates and I am not the meeting organizer. From reading around it seems it may be an issue with syncing the calendar which I have stopped but it did not fix the appointments.
I was looking for a way to do a one way sync or something but have not come across a way to do this in corporate sync. Not sure the issue but was hoping someone here may have seen the same issue. By the way email and contacts work just fine.

Has anyone else noticed a problem with Corporate Calendar showing duplicate meeting entries? Everything was fine until my corporate password expired. After I reset my corporate password, changed the Droids corporate mail/calendar password to match and now all of my calendar entries have been duplicated.

I was using 2.1update1 which was rooted using easyroot. I deleted a few stock applications that i didn't need such as corporate calendar, visual voice mail, and amazon mp3. Now after attempting to apply the OTA 2.2 update, i receive the following error message:
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/CorpCal.apk")
followed by a bunch of numbers and letters
and then
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(status 7)
Installation Aborted.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Did i need that Corporate Calendar app for some reason?

I just purchased my Moto Droid last week. It has been great to this point with few problems. The one item I have not been able to figure out is as follows:
When I input an event on my corporate calendar on the Droid it does not sync back to my exchange server calendar. It works great in the other direction.

I noticed today that when i use the default GPS widget, the gps will turn off and take network location and wifi location with it, however turning it on with the widget does not restore those options. Is there a better widget to use, if that's how it works? I didn't notice this in 2.1. Those seemed to be on all the time.

So the large calendar widget that I placed on my home screen used to show dark little tabs in the corner of everyday that I had an event. While I was looking through it, all of the little tabs disappeared and I have no idea what days I have events unless I go into the actual calendar app. Is there any way to keep them there permanently?

Has anyone removed any or all of the calendar apps without causing any problems to the phone. I'd like to ditch all of them if I could because I will never use them, but I'd at least like to get rid of the corporate calendar. Just want to make sure the calendar applications are not needed for normal phone functioning.

I need to insert, update, delete events in google calendar using android. I tried using the protocol given at http://code.google.com /apis/calendar/data/2.0/developers_guide_protoc but I was unable to go beyond authenticating the user. I was able to authenticate the user and I extracted the Auth code using:- temp1 = EntityUtils.toString (response. getEntity ()); if(response.getStatusLine().getStatusCode()==200) auth = temp1. substring (temp1. indexOf ("Auth=")+5).trim (); After this I tried inserting an event which did not work. I was getting status code 200 in response and I am not sure even if I did get a proper response, how can I extract the cookie s and gsessionid for my next request. I tried creating a calendar instead and I received the same status code 200. I used the following code:- String messageBody="<entry xmlns= 'http://www. w3.org /2005/Atom'"+ " xmlns: gd='http:// schemas. google.com /g/2005'"+ " xmlns:gCal=' http://schemas.google.com /gCal/2005'>"+" <title type='text'>ABC Project Schedule</title>"+ " <summary type='text'>This calendar Type as otherwise I would get a ClientProtocol Exception (content- length was causing the exception, didn't put content-type since it is already mentioned in the entity not sure where it should be defined). I am sorry that I don't understand the basics correctly.

I just got my motorola droid.
I don't want my contacts and my calendar to be synched with google online. i would like to them to live solely on my phone (and one of my computers if necessary).
Secondly, it would be great if there were an all-inclusive app that drew on your contacts to post, say, a contact's birthday directly to your calendar, and also allowed you to use that contact's information to dial them up on the phone, msg them, email them, etc.
Does anyone know of such an application(s) for the android operating system that does not require you to post your personal contact and calendar information out on the internet?
I have access to both windows xp and mac os x v 4.11, if a computer is required to sync with.
