View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it necessary to end applications that you open? if so how?I'm wondering if keeping them open wastes battery life?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHTC Desire HD announces Windows 6.5 instead of Android 2.2.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was under the impression that the "back button" closes applications.
Apparently this is not true. I always use the "bb" however, I've checked and found that many apps were still open.
For instance: I open messages. Don't actually create one. Press "bb". Check apps and find that it is still running. So what is happening is that after a while there are a bunch of apps still running in the background.
Is there a way to force close? What is the proper way to close an application then?
I'm new to android, and i just got my htc hero, how do you close applications. I mean, i open an app and when i'm finished with the app then click the "back" button or the "home button" to open another app, but seems when i long-press the "home" button, previous apps are still open... the only thing that sort of close all the apps when i turn off & on the phone. how do you close apps?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an Xperia x10, everytime I try to open an MMS, I get the following error message:
Sorry! The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close!
Even after rebooting the phone, it doesn't work! what should I do?
It's official, 2.0 is out and soon the SDK will be released to developers!
Let's hope this gets on the Hero fast! It'll be interesting, with Sense UI. Hopefully HTC has been working with Google on this and our wait is minimal.
If Sprint were the only company with the Hero, I'd be worried, but internationally it's all over the place, so that's good.
Well, they officially were approved from Itunes (Apple) a little earlier today and it is live. What disappoints me is the fact that they said they submitted it to Android Apps but it doesn't take but a few hrs to go through Android submitting process. And this was a few days ago from what I understand. I wonder when we will get it. I've been waiting for it since they announced the release of the Apple version. From the reviews I've been reading on itunes they said fairly positive. Minor things here and there but overall they are saying the video quality isn't half bad. Not as great as facetime but hell I'm sure it's better then movicha and the other one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else seeing problems with the ADC2 judging app throwing a FC when trying to install manually? It's a big miss, since the requirement to install manually happens VERY frequently.Only way out is to skip and hope that the next app works. The FC is actually being thrown from com.android.vending 'm on a G1, non-root, T-Mobile carrier, with 1.6 installed, EDGE, with WiFi enabled (and connected).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am aware that this challenge is only open to Apps or developers who have not published their apps on the Android Market before 1st August.
a)What is stopping a developer from just changing the name of his/her app or renaming the app package? Surely others will try this?
b) Are there any developers here that created apps in anticipation for the ADC2 to only find that by publishing on the Android Market, you will lose out on the eligibility clause?
Is there any kind of acknowledgement of submissions for ADC2? I submitted, but am of course nervous that something went wrong. The ADC home page doesn't give any kind of acknowledgement or record of the submission or its state...

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe had this little group... http://groups.google.com/group/android-challenge Android Challenge: Discuss the Android Developer Challenge, including questions on contest details. You can also seek other developers to join a team effort. A humble request to ADC2 team to officially start and moderate a new ADC2 group similar to the previous android-challenge group. ADC2 messages are scattered in android-developers and android-discuss groups. ADC2 discussions does not fit in either of these groups. There will be hundreds of queries, comments, news and PR pitches once the ADC2 judging app goes live. So please could you start a ADC2 discussion group at the earliest.
