I turn my droid off overnight, and the next morning it is completely dead. I turned it off with 50% battery left on it. Anyone else seeing their battery dead the next morning if they turn it off ?Thinking I have a bad battery here. Didn't do this when I first got it. But then again..battery life has not been that great.

I thought that Motorola rated this phone at 8 hours of talk time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI purchased an extended battery, a Motorola branded BP7X for a Droid 2 phone. It's rated at 3.7 volts/1820 mAh. I tested it with a volt-ohm meter and got a reading of 4.2 volts.
When I install the battery in the phone and connect the charger (phone is off), the charging graphic shows the battery is fully charged. I can power on the phone with the charger attached, but as soon as the charger is disconnected, the phone dies. I tried this battery in two Droid 2 phones and got the same behaviour. Is this an indication the battery is defective, or is there something I need to do to make the battery work?
I installednexbeast and I love it... only problem when pressing the power button nothing happens.... if I hold it down I get the power off menu but no sleep for just pushing it.... dug through all settings and couldn't find anything...

Im okay with the sliding I just cant stand hitting the power button to turn on the phone. I wanted to know if theres a app test disables the need to hit the power button so all I have to do is slide my finger across the screen and it turns on? Sorry if somebody posted this I did look for the answer but I didn't see one.

When I plug my droid in to charge at night, it appears to charge up to 100%, then stops charging and begins to lose its charge. When I wake up it is usually around 60 or 70%. I recently bought the multimedia dock to see if this would help. But with this it actually fully discharges because the clock is up on the screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had this phone for a little over 4 days now and it is by far the best smart phone on battery life that I have ever owned. Yesterday was the best day yet, I pulled the phone off the charger at 7am yesterday and forgot to put it back on the charger before I crashed out last night. This morn I was woken up to its alarm clock, got ready, headed out to work and the last 20% warning ding'd at 6:45 this morning. My use through out the day consisted of a few short phone calls, the wifi was on all day, I played an hours worth of home run derby, I watched a few you tube videos, surfed a little net, and I have all my accounts synced up to the Motorola widgets (facebook, myspace, yahoo, hotmail, google, and twitter). I also have a live wallpaper running, lots of widgets on my home screens, and I am running the automatic battery profile ( default factory setting). Oh and my phone service is not that great at my house. In the end I my battery never hit the "red" and was a little over 24 hours of battery life before I put it on the charger. I have read threads about poor battery performance and I cant imagine why my battery performance is so good, and with such a huge screen. With that amount of use, I would only get about 12 hours of battery life from my Droid 1.

I did the RSD lite to put on the SP Recovery. Rebooted the phone, and it said "Low Battery 0%", I pulled the battery out and booted into the System Recovery. Put on the update.zip file, installed the update, and rebooted. It is still saying "Low battery 0%" and the system keeps force closing. When I try and go back to recovery mode I can't even mount the SD card.
like many of you I updated to 2.0.1 with promises of better battery life. After one full day of use I can see now that my battery life isn't improved as much as the phone allocates battery usage stats to different areas other than display. Yesterday my battery actually died BEFORE it usually does (this is post update mind you) and the usage stats told me that I used it mostly on Phone signal (keeping my phone service active when im in the subway). So it said to turn off the phone signal when you're in an area that can't get a signal to save battery life. Well..sounds like a plan, right? What about for those of us that use a bluetooth headset for music? I can't turn off my phone service without also turning off my bluetooth via "Airplane Mode." Does anyone know of a way to turn one off without the other. My motorola Q could do it...please tell me my big bad droid can do it too...

View 9 Replies View RelatedYesterday I clicked the update button on my droid, and now my droid is dead, all that appears is the motorola logo, even after pulling the battery. Of course technical support at Verizon has no clue what is wrong. The phone will not even turn off unless i take the battery out, the motorola logo shows until the phone goes dead.
As this is my second droid, I don't know that I want a 3rd one. My opinion is that the droid would be a neat smartphone-- if it worked. I doubt that anyone could ever consider using the droid as a business phone, since it randomly quits working. I've had many cell phones and blackberries and never had to return any of them.
I have the best buy protection plan, but not sure that entitles me to a new or different phone, since my droid is about 3 months old.
Have any of you found that it takes a really long time to charge the phone to 100% battery? Maybe i'm coming from a sidekick and it was short to charge fully but is this true for you guys too or am i just not used to needing this long to charge a phone up?

Don't worry, I'll still be getting another My battery life hasn't been as great as everybody mentioned, my phone suffers from random reboots (nothing helped, i tried it all), and now I noticed my camera has 4 stuck pixels. Not so bad in Camera mode, but a lot more prominent in Camcorder mode. So how should I do it? I purchased it in store at a VZW. So am I restricted just to that, or can I call VZW? Which route would be better? Anything I should know about beforehand?
