Nov 25, 2010can anyone please help me with this, i am trying to find an app that you could turn off your wi-fi/gps/screen brightness etc etc it was about 6 boxes that went green when active across your screen.I did have this app but alas i had to do a full rest on my htc wildfire.

Jun 30, 2009Here are the settings I am trying out as my "Power Saver Mode" for my HTC Magic (Rogers). Not sure yet how much of a difference this whole set up will actually make, but I'll try to make it a scientific study. Please take a look, I am interested in comments on the setup in general, and on individual settings (ie. will a particular setting really make that much of a difference to the over-all power usage?).As of the moment I changed all these settings, my battery is at 97% (After I turned on my phone this morning, all these settings were previously opposite so i could get my email, etc).
1. Screen Brightness 15%
2. WiFi = OFF
3. GPS = OFF
4. Auto-sync = OFF
5. "Enable always on mobile" = OFF
6. Background Data Usage = OFF
7. Use only 2G Networks = YES
I am also using these apps:
"TasKiller" to kill BG apps
"Useful Switchers" to modify settings.
It would be nice if there were an app that could work like the power setup in the system tray of Windows where you can choose different power modes for your laptop. A simple app with a Power Saver Mode, Balanced Mode, and Power User Mode that could all be set by the user.It would be nice to be able to run the app, choose the "Power Saver" mode and have it automatically change all the settings as I've listed them above, and then be able to choose "Power User" to reverse them easily so I don't have to go through all the separate steps to do it myself.

Apr 18, 2012How to disable the baked-in power saver feature in some Samsung Android phones? the one that dims the screen, turns off the keyboard backlight, and doesn't let you use the camera once you hit 15%(or 10%) battery left? can't stand that, for my own needs anyway!
i figure it might be an edit to the kernel source code, or something like that. i just don't know where to do that. I know it can be done tho, because i remember having some ROMs on the Epic 4G that had that junk disabled. guess i'll also see if some of those old devs. are still around.

Anyone else seeing their battery dead the next morning if they turn it off ?Thinking I have a bad battery here. Didn't do this when I first got it. Sep 20, 2010This just popped up my on my twitter. Y5 Battery Saver Keeps Wi-Fi On Only Near Trusted Spot. When you connect to wifi, it'll remember the rough location (without GPS). Periodically it'll tap back into that location and if you are near it it'll flip on WiFi so you can connect. If you aren't near an area you've connected too before, it'll keep wifi off.

Jul 5, 2010Im running Pete's virgin deodexed version with Chevy's Low voltage kernel. I have the main setcpu profile set to 900 mhz on the minimum and maximum side, with the performance governor. That works fine and I also have profiles enabled. The profiles work great too. The problem is that when switching from a custom profile back to the main profile, the governor ALWAYS sets to ondemand, and then I have to manually set it to performance where it stays until another profile becomes effective.

Nov 7, 2009I'm having problems with getting Facebook profile pics to show up with the majority of my contacts. Here is what I've done so far:
1) Synced my Gmail contacts with my Droid
2) Set Facebook settings on Droid to Sync Contacts
At this point, roughly 3 or 4 of my 70 contacts showed their FB profile picture. I am able to view people's FB profiles by clicking on their contact profile, but still no picture. After clicking on some contacts' profiles, their picture will appear, but this has only worked a few times (~3/20).
Does any one have suggestions on how to get FB profile pictures synced to all contacts that have profiles available?

I removed some bloatware using TB and removed the apk responsible for updating my facebook contacts profile pics. I notice this yesterday as my wife had changed her profile pic and status they have not updated in my contacts. This has been going on since the night I 2.2 it and rooted and removed the bloatware. Does any body know the apk (system app) that needs to be re-installed. I have downloaded the system apps.rar file and have all of them, I just don't know which one it is.
Motorola Droid : Used Profile - Combine With Max / Min Settings On Main Screen?
Jul 28, 2010I have done some searching and can't really come up with the information I need. I am currently running on demand at 900/500. I have looked into the profiles but I find it a bit confusing. If you set your minimum for the main screen to 500 on demand, none of the profiles when enabled will be able to go below this?
What profiles do you use and why if you don't mind me asking?
Charging Full (If it is charging why do I care if it moves from 500?)
Charging AC/Full (waste of time, don't understand the diff/between above)
Charging USB/Full (same as above)
Screen Off (set to my min clock speed?)
Battery (issue or non issue? I don't want to have my performance knocked back when I drop below 50%)
Temp (should I be worried? and at what temp?)
Can you just use some of those and they will combine with the max/min settings on the main screen?
What are my advantages and disadvantages?
Am I wasting battery jumping between 500/900? Should the values be closer?
When I have the phone on "On Demand" no matter what setting it is a bit leggy when I restart the phone (even if it is set to 900/900). When I set it to performance 900/900 it snaps right into place. "On demand" and turning on the phone is the only place I ever really notice a lag.

Sep 14, 2010Sync my pix apk sucks. removed some bloat ware using titbck up. I backed all apps b4 removing. But titbck up won't let me restore them. They have a strike through line on them. I need the social networking.apk and motoblur contacts sync apk. Can somebody up loaf or let me know how to restore them. I'm thinking about sbf'or will a factory data reset be ok?

I didn't expect the battery life to be great, but it's worse than I'd hoped,Obviously, setting the screen brightness to minimum is one way. I've also tried to see if you can 'turn off' applications which may be running in the background, but can't find a way to do this. My previous Nokias allowed you to see what programs were running, and you could turn them off to save battery power. I know a selling point of the Hero is that you can switch to applications quickly without 'loading them up', but is this killing the battery?
