View 5 RepliesThis problem only began after the android update last week.
I use go sms and successfully turned off its popup notification.
I have notification unchecked in the native message app on my skyrocket galaxy II. I noticed it says "display message notifications in status bar" It say nothing about popups...but I have it off anyway.
I use the iphone notifications app (mimics iphone banners). It works fine but I also get the popup with the android man... and I can't shut it off.
If I go into go sms and check the suppress other notifications... it works... so there is a process out there to suppress......
I just can't find the place that is generating the notifications....
There was this really cool app on s60 called "best reminder" - which every time you got a text you coud tell it to keep giving audio and vibrate notifications every X number of minutes till you acknowleged the alert
very handy if you missed the original alert sound with SMS popup on android you can do just that for sms alerts BUT is there an app that will do this with all notifications - not just sms but twitter alerts email alerts etc?
Is there any way to get back to the "Snooze all/Dismiss all" screen for calendar notifications? I've been having major issues with my reminders disappearing before I can dismiss them or after I snooze them. To see what I'm talking about - set an alarm via your calendar (Google, in my case) and try to keep the phone "awake". That screen that pops up will show snooze or dismiss all buttons.
The reason why I need that screen (or at least a consistent way to dismiss the reminders) is because sometimes, odd things happen. For instance, if the reminder goes off and I pull the phone out of my pants quickly, it disappears. I don't know if it dismissed or snoozed. Often, it snoozes because it will ring again. At other times, it will play the notification, but give me no way to dismiss it. I have to power down in order to get it to stop. Talk about frustrating. When it powers back up, the notification shows in the status bar. Then, there are times when it simply vibrates once... repeatedly, but at what seems like five minute intervals. I'll feel it go off, but when I take it out, the phone has no status bar notification.
This is REALLY frustrating because my phone is my lifeline - I teach school and it reminds me when classes start and end. However, I'm a bit skittish now because I go into panic mode when it doesn't quiet or it keeps notifying me.
I have Pure Calendar Widget and Calendar Pad Pro running. Could these be causing any kind of conflict? I really like both of them because the native calendars suck. However, I am willing to let go of Cal Pad Pro if worse comes to worse.
Every time I sync my new HTC Desire to my Outlook 2003 using HTCSync V 3.0.5422, I come up with over 300 reminders on the PC which date back to almost a year ago. I've tried dismissing them in Outlook - they go away - until next time I sync.
I tried downloading the latest version of HTCSync, but that caused the whole sync process to hang - had to uninstall it and load the version that came on the phone.
its possible to change the default to 'none', rather than 10 minutes, for reminders. Its just a little irritating having to cancel reminders every time I create a new appointment

All my previous phones have just performed this function without needing any setting up, assuming the birthday is set in the contact. I have so far learned that you need to ensure you have changed the settings in Google Calendar online: Settings -> Calendar Settings -> Calendars tab -> Browse Interesting Calendars -> More tab -> Subscribe to Contacts' Birthdays and Events.I have done this, and now the birthdays appear in the Calendar application on the phone. Can someone please enlighten me on how I can ensure an alert is generated for these birthday reminders in the calendar?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI tried the apps "Handcent" and "Sms Popup" and set them to automatically display a popup on the lock screen when there is a new sms (similiar to the iPhone). Both apps, however, only display the popup after the lock screen.I guess this has something to do with this "great" touchwiz overlay Samsung is using. Any way to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to get more than one popup window in the browser?Popups are accepted in settings. We are using a website in my work that redirect first to one popup (and thats ok) but from there it redirect to another popup and its here the phone blocks the popup with the message tah one popup are allready open. Before 2.2 the first site open as a new site and not as an popup and the second as a popup and that was ok.I have tryed original browser, opera and Dolphin with the same result.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI searched the market and the forum but found nothing like this.I think SMS popup is a great app and would love something similar for email that would pop up a box telling me I got an email, who it was from and the subject line with an option to open or ignore.I plan to email the SMS popup developer but I was wondering if anyone else had come across something like this or if anyone else would be interested?I'm going to link the dev to this thread, so if its something you'd like chime in here so he knows there is interest.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I use the task killer...and at the moment say when I kill tasks it'll tell me there is about 200M avaliable memory free...if I use the phone for a day it'll maybe go down to 150M even if I am still killing apps and there is nothing in 'running services'. If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?

I've found a few that use the LCD light, but that's not intense enough... And all the apps I found so far that use the led flash light, do not work on the Eve.

View 12 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to turn down the camera sounds? The double beep when it focuses is annoyingly loud... so loud you couldn't use it to take pictures of your kid if they're sleeping, for example. I could also do without the fake shutter sound, but I can live with that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering, if I pay for Camera 360, will I be able to turn off the shutter sound? I can in the demo, but it still beeps.
If it snaps silently, I might pay for it.
I was in a bar and took a couple of pics with the flash off. I closed the camera app.
A few minutes later i decided to take another pic and the flash went off and scared the crap out of a few people.
I prolly killed the camera app inbetween taking pics with an app killer, but come on, cant it save that one silly little setting.
I've put the phone in vibrate mode, and silent mode but it still makes that beep beep noise which is annoying. is there a way?

View 24 Replies View RelatedSo I just finished my ota 2.2 update... since the install everything has been working great however when I open the camera (still or video) it will not open. The screen will turn black with the camera or video image and then go back to the home screen. I have tried restarting the phone with the same results. Any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this? btw I was unrooted and stock if that makes a difference prior to the update.
View 41 Replies View RelatedI ask if there is a simple way because there is a google issue report saying that using decodeByteArray isn't possible. But that report originated in 2008 and I was hoping there was a solution not posted on there. The method listed on the issue report was to decode the format yourself, but I'd prefer to not have to put that in and slow down the program.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to turn off the flash and/or the shutter sound of the camera when taking a picture?
Flash Mode says auto under it, but the box is grayed out and I cannot select it to change it.
This is the same for the auto focus feature, I am unable to select that as well.
My camera stopped working. When I click my camera application I get the message "The application camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". It's just a blank screen?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have my Google calendars set up to default to no reminder when I enter a new event.
But on the EVO, I can't figure out how to do that. When I enter a new event there is an option to set the reminder as "none" for that event. But under calendar settings, "none" is not listed as one of the options for the default reminder time - there's nothing above 5 minutes on the drop-down list.
Anyone know if there's any way to do this? I just can't believe it's not an option and that I have to manually delete the reminder for every single event I enter into the calendar...
