This morning, I received a Firmware update notification. I clicked it to download it and it updated.
I have now got the following details:-
Firmware version: 2.1-Update1
Sofware Number: 1.15.110.11
Browser Version: Webkit 3.1
Anyone have any idea what the bug fixes or improvements were?

At first I thought it was just slow to load them, it sometimes happens & you wait for a couple of seconds then they all appear. But not today. I updated my firmware yesterday twice - first to 1.32.405.3 and then to 1.32.405.6 - but they were definitely there after the updates. I've seen some other threads with the same issue on other phones but they're all at least a few months old. htcsense.com has, disaapointingly, not got all of my messages either. It seems to have most of them (including the last one I sent) but somehow is missing some in between.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI think I've read on the thread about the Froyo 2.2 release, that a rom has been leaked that will work with Sense on the Desire? Has anyone got any links/guides to getting this to work?
Secondly, I've currently got my phone debranded but this has led to my wifi being disabled since the last firmware update, I know I'll have to root my phone to install the 2.2 rom but will this then mean I will have to input the network code as that's what I was told would need to happen if I was to reflash my phone with the unbranded rom again.
Gone from the list to add - can anyone also confirm?

View 6 Replies View RelatedT-Mobile have finally released their HTC Sense update for the desire this morning. I've been waiting months for this. Everything seemed to go fine on the update, it auto backed up everything to the sd card and on updating all apps were displayed on the home screens as before. I have a problem now though - my internet browser keeps crashing when loading pages. It displays most of the page and reaches about 95% but then closes back to the home screen. I haven't done much to the phone other than installing apps and it generally worked before the update. Using webkit 3.1 browser and tried pages such as failblog, gizmodo and android forums. Any others with this problem?

View 49 Replies View RelatedThe last couple of days I've noticed I can't browse or update apps like Android Facebook, Android Twitter and Google Mail and can't browse the Market when I'm connected to the mobile network on 3. This happens even when the notification tray has the H or G symbol and up- and downstream icons are animating. I've checked through the Mobile Network settings and can't see that I've changed anything by accident. The strange thing is the Friend Stream updates when I'm connected to the mobile network.
Does anybody know what I might be missing?
The version of the software that is most current is version 6 (the phone shipped with version 3).
To ascertain version: Go to Dialer/Hit Star/#9999#
You will see the PDA; Phone; and Software Version numbers in this section
The T939xxxx6 for PDA AND PHONE and then
Software Version - ending in .006 on the last line.
I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.
I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the "Update Available From Sprint" thread, making sure I was on v1.29.651.1, yada yada. Worked on this for a week and a half. Spoke with Sprint, spoke with HTC, no luck. Going to firmware update always reported NO UPDATE AVAILABLE.
Took the phone back to Best Buy and demanded an exchange. After receiving the new phone, went to try to firmware update, it showed that one was available. I asked for my old battery back since it was charged fully so that I could do the update. Put my old battery back in, went to update, NO UPDATE AVAILABLE!
Turns out it was my battery? Put the new one back in and the update was successful. I had scoured the net before but did not notice anyone with this particular issue. I
SamsungMobile.co.uk have placed a message on their Galaxy page regarding the use of unauthorised firmwares. They also state that they are working on a fix (But fail to offer any timescale)

My phone prompted me to do the Firmware update this afternoon and it worked great. I checked my wifes EVO this evening and noticed she still had the older software version 1.32.651.1.When I checked for a Firmware Update nothing is available for her phone. However, if I check for the HTC software Update it shows 1.32.651.1 is available for download. This isn't the same version I was prompted to download this afeternoon.

Issue: Switch on tethering OR mobile hotspot ->mobile network dies
I've installed Froyo on a T-Mobile branded Desire. After the update, turning on USB tethering leads to immediate loss of mobile network - it just turns itself off. Same goes for the mobile Wifi hotspot: turn on -> for 2 seconds, it's working -> mobile network drops off. Moving into airplane mode and back brings back the network, but tethering is a goner. With 2.1, USB tethering had worked. I'm on Base, a brand of e-plus. I've talked to their customer services, they say Base absolutely supports tethering.
i just got my htc hero and its running software 1.5, how do i do a on air update on the phone? it did come up with a update message but i hit no by mistake.

So after seeing people were posting on here about the PRL update on 7/28 I went to go hit the PRL update under Settings > System updates. To my surprise it will not let me do the PRL update. I keep hitting the button and nothing happens. I tried the same thing for the Firmware and Profile updates and nothing happens when I press the buttons. The only one that works is the HTC software update. I tried turning my phone on and off and the same thing still happens. Have not tried a reset yet.

What bothers me the most is, if the Epic has the GPS fix, why not the rest of us? Goes to prove that the GPS issue might still be being worked on and Samsung/Sprint are just trying to calm fears.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI ran across this great forum post over at xda developers forum, and they are encouraging us to send HTC emails to tell them to release the firmware update for the phone to fix the 30FPS cap which would be great because then there would be nothing holding developers back from making great apps for the phone, and the phone itself will run better too...
