Actually i have keep on scrollview inside that scroll view i set one textview at run time i want to set text in that textview.The string which i m going to set is some what big in length so i could not get the string in a single line and i can get my string two or three lines .My scroll view layout width size is 250px.I don't want to exceed that size...My expectation is i want to see that string within that scrollview as single line if the string is exceeds the scroll size then it should horizontally scroll in text view.I tried some functions like setting horizontal scroll to scrollview and textview but nothing is work out.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Android application that works off of a smaller database, around 300 entries. To view the database, I have created a custom view that contains individual rows of data. Then I query the database, and add each line to a newly created custom view.
The problem is that it takes a little white for all of this to be created/loaded, so when you open the application, it sits for a few seconds.
How can I load one line of data, then display it, then the next, append it, etc.?

I am generating a custom View that contains a number of drawables that are added to the View dynamically. This means the View's size could be anything, and is likely to stretch off the screen. Where it does stretch off the screen I want scrolling to be enabled.
So far I have tried:
adding the custom view directly to my Activity - this displays the drawables ok, but with no scrolling
adding the custom view as a child to a ScrollView and setting the ScrollView as the content in the Activity - this doesn't display anything.
How do I generate a custom view of arbitrary size, display it and have scrolling where it is too big for the screen?
I have the localized strings file that is used in the Iphone app that I work on to port to Android. Are there any tools that go through the file taken from the xcode project and build the xml needed to use the strings in android? This tool should be easy to build but I appreciate any pointers to already working tools.

Sorting by date doesn't work because they're strings (unless I'm doing it wrong.I've googled this issue for ~5 days, and it looks like there should be a way to capture the date from the date picker, convert it to a Long, store it in sqlite as a Long, select and sort on the Long date value, then convert the Long back to a "mm/dd/yyyy" string for display. For my application, these objects are an EditText and an associated TextView label for the field. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the EditText to hide/display, and when I add it code to hide/display the TextView, I get a NullPointerException. I presume that since I am laying out the view objects in a RelativeLayout, by hiding one of the view objects, I am removing its relationship with other view objects, hence the NullPointer.

I have preferences where you can enable/disable what items will show up on the menu. There are 17 items. I made a string array in values/arrays.xml with titles for each of these 17 items.
I have preferences.xml which has the layout for my preferences file, and I would like to reference a single item from the string array to use as the title.
