i have device. and i want update my camera in my device. i have camera.apk with new version and i install it and works with new version. but when i reboot/ restart device. the camera back / restore to previous version / original camera version.
how to fix the camera app so the camera update not restore to previous version when restart?

I just updated my Legend, it said it was to do with the camera. It's now version 1.32.161.4 and the root guide at 24/May r4 - HTC Legend rooting guide - Now with 1.31.x - Android @ MoDaCo says 1.31 and below is there any way to downgrade the Legend to what it was before? I think it was 1.21 or 1.23 not sure.

The problem: Broken LCD display... The official Samsung service replaced the LCD display and installed 4.0.1. The result is that I lost all my data (all photos and videos are lost).
I tried every recovery tool available (from R-studio to Photorec)... No data recovered... Is there any chance to recover the previous configuration or may I start to take it for granted that all my photos are forever gone ?

I did a Backup of all my stuff on the phone, when I'd updated my phone and turned it on it asked me to setup the phone again with the Language, Time & Date etc and now when I try to restore my settings it says "Could Not Restore" when it is almost done.

1) app v1 stops and calls onSaveInstanceState
2) app v1 saves the bundle
3) user goes to marketplace and updates the app to v2
4) user starts the v2 version of the app
5) v2 version calls onCreate passing the bundle with v1 data
Is that even possible? Do I need to worry about it?
Have downloaded the rooting guide, If I make a royal stuff up. Is there an Undo function? Can I restore the phone back to the unrooted version?

No success so now I want to go back to the original ics camera and gallery.. Unfortunately I delete the original ones when I install the 4.2 camera. So I download the camera apk and Google gallery. Apk and put in system.app the gallery shows up but not the camera. The gallery crash very often. I cannot make the camera shows up. Every time I turn on the phone it appears "Android update". I don't have a recovery.

After a flash update the phone does not restart..When I try to flash it, I have a error "BROM ERROR: S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL (5054) [EMI] Obtain DRAM Failed!"
However I think that my phone is not a true Goophone, Before the fatal flash, I have test and make a backup with MTKDroidTools and It was stated that the processor was a MTK6589, but it was a fake and it was actually a MTK6572

Two days ago I made a backup of contacts, messages etc.But when I try to install the backup and restore I made two days ago it can't complete it.I have my messages but my favourite contacts, timescape and widgets need to be reinstalled. And contacts which I have deleted a week ago are now reappearing on my phone.I have logged in to my gmail and market and all of my apps are in there so that's not the problem.It's like something is working and something is definately not.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am developing a ToDo reminder type of app for android. on creation of a new reminder an alarm and vibrator scheduler is created with a toast. This works on intents and broadcasts and is pretty straight forward stuff with putextras using the reminder id from the db. My problem is, if some one restart the phone, i guess all the scheduled alarm and vibrator tasks for the reminder will be killed. Once the phone restart again how to recreate the scheduler tasks.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 1.0 r2 and it takes garbage pictures, and crashes when trying to view any saved image (I've only saved images taken from the emulator's "camera" so I don't know if it shows images that were pushed via adb properly.)
I'll try the 1.1 SDK, and failing that, an earlier version.
Is this a known issue, sort of a "well, if you're really going to work with pictures, you should be using a G1 anyhow..." kind of thing?
Anyone notice 2 circles on the HTC Incredible by the Verizon logo? If you look closely on the left side by teh Verizon logo there are 2 small holes that looks like the led light but a little bigger. Looks like one a photo sensor and the other what is that? Can it be a facing camera? I don't know if someone has already answer this but I just noticed it now :-)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'd like my app to run on both Android versions 2.1 and 2.2. In one area of my app, there is a portrait-style camera - the process for producing a portrait camera preview is different (as far as I know) on the two OS versions. Here is how:
2.1:

camera.setParameters(parameters);
2.2:
camera.setDisplayOrientation(90);
The setDisplayOrientation(int) method became available in API Level 8 (2.2) and, so, cannot be used on 2.1; however, using the 2.1 (Camera.Parameters) method does not rotate the preview and image correctly on 2.2. It seems odd that this incompatibility exists - is there a more correct way to do this that will allow me to target both platforms?

The code runs without errors but the device is showing the preview instead of the generated bitmap.

I am developing the camera module for an android application. In main application when user clicks on 'take picture' button, new view with SurfaceView control is opened and camera preview is shown. When users click on dpad center, camera takes picture and save it to the disc. Pretty simple and straightforward.
Everything works fine on my device - HTC Tattoo, minsdkversion 1.6...but when I tested application on HTC Hero minsdkversion 1.5, when camera preview is shown,some strange lines occur. altough preview is crashed, taking of pictures works fine

I live in Denmark I have gotten the 2.1 update a few days ago.The SE startscreen does not work anymore (I am using ADW.launcher anyways but I am thinking about reinstalling the update again to get everything to work as intended.I have notised that the new backup and restore program contains a menu item during backup called Programs from market. I tried to do a backup but that menu item didnt seem to progress from 0 to 100% like the others (Sms phonebook and so on) so I am unsure if the backup file actully contains info on Programs I installed (from market) or not.Problem is that I am getting sick of first remembering all the apps I have downloaded and then downloading them all again. It takes hours and would be so much easier if phone either makes a backup of all programs/apps or at least keept a list of what was installed.Its is not possible to find the programs via market/download list (or at least has not been possible for the last 2 updates for the phone)
