Dec 6, 2009I have 2 clocks displayed on my hero, one is the home location (Chesterfield) and the other clock says Barlborough which is about 3 miles away, I can change my home location to say london, Tokyo etc but not the Barlborough one, I cant even remember how it got there in the first place nevermind change it.

Oct 13, 2009Just got the HTC Hero from Sprint and so far am loving almost everything about it. One question that I hope someone can help me with:Is there a way to change the size of icon's text or label (or perhaps the text itself)? For example, I have a screen with several Google apps on it, but they look like this: "Google M..." (for Google Maps); "Google S..." (for Google Sky), etc. It would be great if I could just change this to "Maps" or "Sky."

Nov 1, 2009My question is since this is basically a Hero repackaged can anyone tell me about the ability to use this as a bedside alarm clock. Does it change to a clock interface? Can it be dimmed? and how reliable is the alarm function? Also can you turn the phone volume off so alerts and phone calls dont ring while still leaving the alarm volume active?

Dec 15, 2009I have had the Hero since it came out, and I am actaully liking it more and more. Android is awesome, and HTC Sense is really cool. My only problem is The digital HTC clock (the white one) that looks like the old fashoined clock with weather under it is extremely laggy. For example I will turn my phone on (awake it) unlock the phone and in the upper right of the phone the time will be correct, say 4:55, then the big HTC clock will say 4:37 (usually the time is the last time since the phone was on) after 2-3 seconds it will adjust to the right time, it happens very often and happens whenever the phone goes from minute to minute. (5:15 in upper right, 5:14 on HTC clock) I have read threads about the clock being an hour off but mine is the right time and hours it is just laggy. Also it is not rooted, and when sprint sent the over the air update I downloaded that and it is still laggy and was before that. Is anyone else having this problem? turning it on and off does nothing at all, and I had to do a hard reset about 3 weeks ago and that didnt't help either.

Jan 17, 2010I read that the flip clock is a battery drainer, so I figured I'd switch it out. I like the HTC weather, but I sorta want a digital clock.
HTC's alarm settings etc. are great, I'd like to keep those setting as the clocks that are on the market I'm guessing won't have as many features if they're free.
But can I swap my HTC clock widget yet still have HTC run my alarm? I'm not really sure if I can do this or not, but I didn't want to download/install a clock over the stock one and need to get it back, so I was wondering if anyone had done this before.

Oct 13, 2009Been trying hard since sunday to figure out how to add custom alarms to the alarm clock. I just miss alot of my alarms and want to be able to continue to use them on the Hero. so far everything I have tried does not work. I even created a "Media" folder with 3 sub folders "Alarms", "notifications", "Ringtones" even by placing them in these folders still nothing. I have been able to use the media player to add my music as a ringtone, however the music I have placed in the ringtone folder does not show up either in my phone.

Nov 11, 2009I have a new Sprint hero and the Flip Clock doesn't flip it just changes and I've seen the Euro Hero it flips so cool, just like the flip clocks from the old days.. WTH why do our American phones always come watered down when compared to the Asian and Euro models!!!! Sorry for the rant! But I paid for a hero with a Flipping Clock that actually flips!! P.S. i've done some Youtubeing and all the videos that have the Sprint Hero they don't flip why!

Apr 24, 2010It seems like whenever I try to send pictures to others via MMS, it won't let me because the pictures are too large. I know I can have my Hero take pictures it smaller resolutions, but I wouldn't want low-res pictures unless I would want to send them via MMS.
The thing is, a lot of times I dont know ahead of time that a picture I am about to take with the Hero will be used to send in an MMS. So its hard to make the decision to take in a low res beforehand. I could just switch the Hero to take all pics in low res, but then what about all the pics I don't need to send via MMS? They will all be low resolution.

Mar 14, 2010what the maximum file size is I can attach to an outgoing email using Gmail? I know Gmail allows 20 megabytes, but is there a size limit I can attach from the Hero? I have had the phone tell me a file is too big to attach, but it was well under 20 megs.

May 19, 2010Can't get wallpaper to size correctly since running the Android 2.1 update on the Sprint Hero.
The HTC wallpaper shows correctly but the resolution of wallpaper set from my photos seems to be about 800x600. The onscreen size remains the same regardless of the original photos size, I've tried everything from 340x480 down to thumbnail and it stays the same.
Also when I try to load a photo as wallpaper I get a horizontal crop box even though the screen is obviously vertical.

May 10, 2010When I installed DamageControl v2.08.1 on my cdma Hero the calendar and date are 24 hours off! Time is correct but it's the next day. When I did a back up of this install it even used the wrong date on the backup. I have a bunch of small issues that I think with patience I may be able to work around but this clock/date thing has me puzzled. Also has anyone figured out how to put a custom city in for the weather widget and not one of the ones listed but for example a small town (any town) some where in the USA? I could do this on my 1.5 but this weather widget acts like the clock and you can only use their listed cities.

Apr 21, 2010I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that can get mms on my hero but when i download the incoming mms it shows up once then after i close it i can not view or find the picture again. Ive mounted the phone and looked in the download folder of sd card but nothing is there, and its certainly not in any of my albums. I've tried using both setcpu and overclock widget to alleviate this but neither helped, anyone else have this problem or know of a workaround?
