Anybody else run in to this! Your at the gym listening to some Crue, Iron Maiden or some Hagar and all of a sudden the next song comes on and it's a f'ing ring tone, WTF is that doing playing! They all play, the ones I made and the ones I got from Mabilio ringtones! Anybody know how to fix this, it's just stupid!

Trying to get one mediaplayer button to cycle through a few mp3 files. Here is what I have so far:
First declared my array:
final int[] songs = {R.raw.ef101a, R.raw.ef101b, R.raw.ef101c, R.raw.ef101d, R.raw.ef101e};
Then called Media Player:
public void onClick(View arg0) { MediaPlayer mp = MediaPlayer.create(efaustusa.this, songs);
mp.start();
I cannot call the array through this media player call. How to do this?
I was wondering if anyone has had luck playing .mp3 files that are around 100-200+ meg in size? I'm working through the "Best Player" thread trying to find something that will. So far the only one to come close is Ringdroid, of all things, but try as it did it would not load the file (all other apps I've tried so far just say it's an unsupported file).
Ps the file I'm trying plays fine in Audacity on my Linux box. An iPod will play these files but you cannot fast forward through the song at all.
Is there any way to get the details of current song played by media player?

But I digress- I'm having 1 problem in particular and after reading up on forums, and numerous google searches I've reached the end. I concede!Whenever I'm using my hero to play music in the stock player (and I believe Last.FM too) & I receive a notification- be it IM, text, email or anything else- my phone remains silenced after the notification is over. So I'll get a text, the phone will silence my music to play the notification (short beeps, long beeps, full ringtones,) I'll check the notification & my music player still remains silenced (edit: while its still playing- & when I hit play it continues where it was paused @ not where I was last listening to it.) I have to pause & replay whatever song is on or wait for Last.FM to move to the next song or skip the last song to hear anything. This is happening no matter how I'm listening. Cabled headphones, bluetooth stereo headphones, the speaker.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed that the stock music player isn't very good at shuffling music? I have my playlist set up, and want it to shuffle while I'm listening at work. It will shuffle, but the problem is that it won't play all the songs on my playlist. I have about 500 on this particular playlist, and in an 8 hour day I will hear the same song 3 or 4 times. In the 3 weeks I've been using it at work, there are some songs that I have *NVER* had come up on the shuffle. I tried turning on just shuffle and not repeat, but same thing. Is there a fix for this, or does anyone have recommendations on a music player that I can download that is better?
** Clarificaion: By "recommendation" I mean more than "Get Product X, it's cool". Why is it "cool"? What makes it better than the other products?
I've recently gone through all my songs and using mp3tag (PC software for tagging music files) I've tagged my songs, ie band name, album, album art work. I've checked in winamp and itunes and all the information is the same everywhere. All except the Hero phone. When I've transferred all my songs to the SD card most of them show up correctly, with right name, album, art work but around a quarter of them come up under "unknown" album. Does anyone know why this might be or how I can make the Hero player recognise the artist/album names?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having issues with Hotmail at the moment? I can't get my phone to sync with my hotmail account all of a sudden, and I have literally done nothing to it since I got hotmail emails this morning. I looked on my account on my laptop and had 4 messages from various times throughout the day, and refreshing the mail didn't fix anything. I sent myself a test email and didn't receive it, so I don't know what the deal is.
Anyway, I'm sure it'll fix itself, but if someone else is having this problem I'd love to know if you've been able to fix it or not.
Edit: Soft reset didn't work, haven't tried hard reset because I have no idea why it would work when Gmail is working fine, phone is not rooted
First off, I listen to long audio files (5+ hours) on my Inc. pretty much everyday. Ever since the the 2.2 update, if I pause the audio and do something else like open the web browser or an app; once I go back to the media player and press play, it'll restart the track from the beginning. I know this is different from 2.1. I could even turn the phone off and on, and it would still hold it's place in the track. Is anyone else out there experiencing the same thing? Am I stuck with this, or am I missing an option somewhere? I tried a couple different media players, namely Mixzing, but that too loses it's place. I'd really like to keep the stock player, mainly because the lock screen controls are so nicely integrated.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo last night I was riding in the car using my hero. All of a sudden 2 lines appeared across the screen horizontally about 1" up from bottom. Can't fix it. Tried a hard reset to factory and still there. Any suggestions? I am traveling in Chicago today so will find a sprint store for exchange. I have TEP. But at 2 days old should it just be swapped for a new one and not affect TEP?

Can I make it just play the songs in my songs folder (and sub-folders) on my SD Card? I only want it to search my songs folder, not the whole phone or the whole SD Card.
View 8 Replies View RelatedEven registering the broadcast receiver at the highest priority still fails to receive the Bluetooth media button events on the HTC Hero phone. The Bluetooth media button registration code works fine on the other Android phones that I have tested. Apparently this isn't the first time HTC has done something like this, as I also found a report of a similar problem on one of the HTC Microsoft Mobile Devices reported here
It seems extremely short sighted of HTC to code their media player so that it grabs the Bluetooth AVRCP media button events in such a way that other applications are unable to work with the Bluetooth head phone buttons and Bluetooth in car stereo systems.................
Is there anyway to stop the stock music player on my HTC Hero from playing songs? I have a bluetooth headset and whenever I use the controls on the headset it activates the stock music player instead of the one I downloaded.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a ton of music on my SD card in my phone, approx. 6.5GB worth on an 8GB card. The problem is, the music players in Android (I've used the default, RockOn and MixZing, though I want to stay with MixZing) only recognize about 80% of the music, in their libraries. The thing is, the music is there! If I browse to the folder and launch the file it will play, but there's no artist/title data, even though all the files are properly tagged (mp3s), plus, it opens in a weird verion of the default music player that will stop playing if it loses focus.
This has been a issue ever since I got this phone. It's a brand new SD card (my previous one, in addition to this problem, had major corruption issues; I originally thought it was the card but I guess that's not the case). Also, I've gone through two different ROMs (one when I first got the phone, and a second that I upgraded to about a month ago), so I don't think that's the issue. It seems to affect random folders (albums) at different times, whenever the library is refreshed, but I can't refresh the library manually (that I've found) to see if it's just not scanning those files, or if it's a more underlying issue. I'm stumped
I have the Motorola Droid and am using the stock music player. I was looking for alittle help finding something better to use...am sure alot of you are using something much better.

I like the stock music player (although i have the incredible, so it is the sense music player), i like all the features it has (delete songs, playlists, full lock screen support, etc.
The only thing i don't like its that its way slow when going to the list (either artist, all songs, genre). I have over 2500 songs so i know this is the reason, but im just hoping that once we get the upgrade the speed will be more acceptable.
Other than that does anyone know of a third party app that has lockscreen art, and all the basic functionality of the stock music player but performs faster when viewing the list? I've tried all I could find, mixzing, doubletwist, museek, cubed, astro media player, vanilla music player, meridian, btunes, and some other ones I can't remember now but they all have something missing from the stock media player.
I noticed that you can't adjust media volume without first playing media. Like you have to, for example, press the play button before pressing rocker volume in order to adjust media volume or else you'll just be adjusting ringer volume. This is unfortunate since games also use media volume. So if you wonna start up a quick game in a quiet setting, your in trouble if you were listening music before and never turned down/off the media volume. Unless I'm missing something and there is in fact a way to do it?

I've got about 4000 tracks on my pc and would like to stream them or browse and play them from my phone (not always convenient to play them from the PC).
I've got Estrongs file browser but can only play one track at a time.
Three Droids in the family, had for approx 1 month, with no real battery problems other than drain with GPS use. Battery usage extremely predictable. Until yesterday. Day before yesterday, wife's phone reported battery charge of ~30% after being on media dock charger all night. Figured it was a connection glitch of some kind. Happened again today, then while I was looking at the phone, battery went from ~20% to 100%. Now seemed more like a status reading problem. Picked up my phone from its media dock - a different one - and surprise surprise, it too was reading ~30% after being on dock charging all night.
(Yes, we have power and the docks are plugged in.) Powering down phone doesn't reset status, still reads ~30%.
Anyone know of a media player that will play .flv files without having to convert to .mp4 or .3gp ?
Seems strange that youtube streams fine, but you can't play the downloaded files in the default media player.
Are there any MEdia Player Apps. which can play AVI, Mpeg, DivX, FLV, etc?

I think because its a HTC phone it is made with the black bar, but is their anyway to extract the APK from any other android phone if such a file exists and just install it on the Hero, I really prefer the white one.
