Does anyone have fast settings for the minifreemanager app?
I don't know if anyone else is using It but I just got Zenexp from xda. And I love It it is everything I always wanted a Rom to be fast, stable, and LANDSCAPE SENSE! My only gripe is the "glass" icons way to iphoneish for me but. Ill live with it for all its. Wins
View 49 Replies View RelatedWas wondering if theres any way to get the fast charge that you get from the wall charger to work with a usb from computer charge. I know its "slower charge" because the computer also allows data transfer and mounting of the sd card, but maybe theres a possible way to shut that off? Also, would a double USB port cord that are used for external hard drives improve charge time at all? Two normal sized USB coming from computer to the miniUSB port on hero.

I'm tethering using wireless Tethering for root users and it's murdering my battery. the usb port couldn't even keep the battery stable.I currently have it charging from the laptop turned off. Does this sound normal? Do I have something eating my battery up?

I set it to Sprint only to avoid roaming charges. My old phone would automatically send. This one I have to resend. Are there settings to auto send when entering the sprint network?

I've settled on an overclocked speed of 748/748 with a sleep profile of 528/528. I use Weather Bug Elite with no background data updates as I press menu > update each time I open the app. Syncing is done manually, no autosync enabled for gmail or calendar. The browser and all other caches are cleared in menu > applications > manage applications each night prior to shutting down and putting the device on the charger.
What is the best settings to have the camera on so when i take pictures it comes out great.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently found an app called quick settings which actually has an option for auto sync which is pretty good. But the mobile data option doesn't seem to affect my mobile network toggle. I am guessing this app was meant for other androids. Is there any other app out there as good as this one dedicated to the sprint HTC Hero?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is the first phone I've owned with video capture available (LG Rumor, Instinct, Pre) and I notice there are a variety of settings available when it comes to video. One video I had recorded earlier today seemed more choppy with the exact same settings than another I took yesterday, the only difference I could really note was there was much more light in today's video. So is there a secret to beautiful video every time?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf anyone knows, i can't seem to figure it out. can you change the notification tone for fringe, and since i have my skype, yahoo, and aim all signed in, i can only tell the difference between my aol contacts (because the icon next to it is red) and then the yahoo and skype contacts are all green. is there anymore customization settings for this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI suspect the order of the items under menu/settings is listed by frequency of use, as expected by HTC, or Google. Is there any way the order can be re-arranged? Perhaps alphabetized? Wouldn't it be easier to use this way? I think on an old phone I had you could long press and then re-arrange items like this. I could be all wet. This is not a major concern, and I really like my Hero.

View 27 Replies View RelatedIs there a way, to go from Apps2SD to NOT using Apps2SD without losing apps or app settings?
The process as I understand it is:
Make a Nandroid Backup (or do you need Nandroid+ext?)
copy SD contents to PC
Wipe phone, Wipe and repartition SD card w/ no ext
replace contents of SD card (while in Recovery you can mount the card, correct?)
flash ROM
Restore
The question I have is, will all the apps and settings be in the restore, or will I need to reinstall and set everything up again?
I've played around with my phone over the past month to the point where I've probably fubarred it. I know how I want my phone to be setup (finally) but I think I've introduced way too much bloat and un-needed garbage by installing-unintalling apps and roms.
Is there a way to reset the phone back to factory, but at the same time keeping my contacts and apps in tact? (Did that make sense?) So I basically want a clean slate without having to write down all my my apps and re-setting up my screens. I have Fresh 1.1 and Gumbo
Did a search but did not find anything else that mentions this. I am running stock ROM with no task manager. Over the last week or two each time I power off and then back on I lose random settings and also all my widgets stop working. Today when I power cycled I lost my pattern lock and ring styles, went from vibrate to sound. Last time it was all of my bookmarks...
Anyone else run into this? I am thinking I will restore to factory settings, but figured I would see if anyone else ran into this and got it fixed?
I can't seem to get to the original gmail settings.
I want to change retrieval interval. Maybe change password in the future, etc.
I did the 2.1 upgrade and camera seems to have same lagginess. Does anyone have any pointers for how to set camera for responsive pics (I have a 2 year old)? I remember seeing some tips when I first got the phone last year and it helped...I'm having no luck my own. Also, when I go to send a pic with text, it is compressing the pics very small and the quality goes to crap. Went into text setting and set the file size to the largest, but it doesn't seem to help.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAnybody know the best settings for the NES/SNES emulators-frame rate, etc to get rid of lag? The first time I used it it was lag free, now I'm getting a little jumpy frames and stuff....(i bought the full versions of both).
I have a sprint htc hero rooted w/ fresh 1.1 and gumbo + set CPU!
Can someone confirm a picture taken with the stock settings in the camera can now be sent via sms?
On my end, it will show compressing the pic, the recipient never receives. (No I am not connecting via wifi.)
I get a pop up of settings box briefly then it goes away. Is this common? I don't have to push button or do anything but it pops up.
View 6 Replies View RelatedLike many other people, I have the issue where I cannot connect to my exchange e-mail because of security settings. I was able to resolve the issue the first time by using Lockpicker. I had to reset my phone, root, and install fresh rom again. Now I am trying to use lockpicker again, but it doesn't work anymore. I have tried everything I can think of and have searched extensively. Touchdown can connect, but there is no way I am paying for that when I was able to get the stock email app working the first time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI rooted my hero a few days ago and got Wireless Tether up and working. It works great except none of the settings do anything. I can change them, wireless tether restarts, but they never take effect. I tried changing the SSID, adding encryption, and changing the encryption password. None of the settings took effect. My laptop and ipod touch still discovered the network as "AndroidTether" with no encryption. Is there any way to fix this problem?Rooted 2.1 HTC Hero with stock rom.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI took my Hero to Sprint because I was having picture mail and sound issues. They told me to wait for the 2.1 update that is coming 4-9. View 35 Replies View RelatedI think I understand how MinFreeManager works, but not exactly. I recently increased the settings on MinFreeManager (from default to aggressive) along with some other minor changes on my phone, and noticed faster battery drain. Could the settings change I performed on MinFreeManager be a reason for the faster battery drain, or would it be something else?
