I get a pop up of settings box briefly then it goes away. Is this common? I don't have to push button or do anything but it pops up.

I upgraded to 2.1 and I'm trying to change what I believe is my data intake from 1X to hybrid. I can't find out where to change it. Does anyone know where I can change it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been a Blackberry and Windows Mobile user for the last eight years. I am 55% sure that I want to get the Hero but I am not 100% sold. I am also considering the Pre. I know this sounds crazy, but the absolute #1 thing I need is Internet sharing and tethering capability; even more so than a phone itself. I must be able to connect my phone to my laptop, either by usb or bluetooth, and have it working in less than 30 seconds each time. I currently run Ubuntu 9.4 and Windows Vista/XP. My windows mobile phone works with all of these, and quickly.I have searched and searched but have found nothing as to wether the Sprint version is capable of thethering.

I am signed in to Facebook through "Facebook for HTC Sense" (when I click "Add Account" and choose "Facebook," it won't do anything) but when I go to a contact and try to link to a friend, there is no one on the list. I have tried logging out and back in, then restarting the phone, but that hasn't fixed the problem. Also, is anyone else having the keyboard refuse to work when trying to send a text?

I set it to Sprint only to avoid roaming charges. My old phone would automatically send. This one I have to resend. Are there settings to auto send when entering the sprint network?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wanted to change the Google account that my phone was linked to, so I cleared the google app. Now when I try to sign in using my google account to link the phone with the phone (the new one or the old one) it asks for my login info, then says Signing in and says it may take up to 5 minutes. Then it gives me a message that says: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care." I have called customer care and they can't figure it out. They told me I need to go to a Sprint Store that does service, but there isn't one very close to me, so I'd rather not take half a day to drive there if I don't have to.
I have full bars and everything else works great. I can get my email, use the internet and do everything else that doesn't require the use of the google account. But I can't use the google mail feature or go to the Marketplace. I'm using 1.56.651.2 and haven't really done anything else to the phone as far as changing settings or rooting or anything.
I have contacts in my phone book that I entered manually and wanted to know if there was a way to sync them to my Gmail account in case something were to ever happen to my phone?

1) why can't I link my contacts with facebook? I'm not talking about syncing them I'm talking about linking them so that their profile pics come up on under "people" on my phone, every other ROM I've used does this just fine but Zen does not for some reason.
2) Do I need an app from the market to see how fast my processor is running? I've seen where some people have run into troubles of having their processor redlined all the time

My activity has a LinearLayout which contains a TableLayout and a WebView. The TableLayout has button and a TexView. This is created from code instead of using R.java (for our own reason).
Things are displayed correctly, however I can NOT click on the links inside the WebView (I can NOT browser through inside the WebView). This doesn't happen if I only have WebView inside the contentView. Are there some layout setting I missed?
Im trying to root my hero using pre kitchen but its not going threw i run the diagnostics text before you root everything checks out good. I have tried to root by having checked the box (with google) and tried it by not checking it. When my phone reboots i get the exclamation mark with a little phone on it. Everything seems to be running good except for this part# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.2.3.img flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.2.3.img error opening /sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.2.3.img: No such file or directory can this be the problem? If so, how can i fix it?

On the Speed Test app, the highest speeds I get are 1.8m/bs downloads and around 500kpbs upload. However, those were at off peak times at night etc (probably when nobody is using the net).Generally I get anything from 0.3 m/bs to 0.9 m/bs though. Lately I've been experiencing some inconsistent internet speeds and reconnection attempts so for I've gone back to the default settings. Tbh though I'm not sure if it makes much difference.

The HTML being displayed is provided to me via an external resource, so I cannot change things around as I will, but I can, of course, do some regex tampering with the HTML, to change the href value, say, to something else.
What I want is to be able to handle a link click directly from within the app, rather than having the link open a browser window. Is this achievable at all? I'm guessing it would be possible to set the protocol of the href-value to something like "myApp://", and then register something that would let my app handle that protocol. If this is indeed the best way, I'd like to know how that is done, but I'm hoping there's an easier way to just say, "when a link is clicked in this textview, I want to raise an event that receives the href value of the link as an input parameter"
I am trying to add a webview in my app to display a web page. However, every time I click link on the web page, Browser will be launched to display content in that link. I understand it is something about intent but I am still wondering is there any simpler method to ask webview to display link content within its View ?
