Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Voice Dial Doesn't Work

When I try to use voice dial on my X10 it does not work. Not even close, never. I either get a list of phone numbers I don't recognize (998-xxx-xxx, etc) or after clearly saying "call voice mail" it comes up with "open calendar". Do I need to train it to my voice, or does it just not work? Is there another ap out there that works? Before got this I had heard rave revews about android voice dialing, now I am very disappointed.

Seriously, 2.1 still doesn't do voice dialing over Bluetooth. I have been patiently waiting for 2.1 to come out and finally installed it tonight. Fired it up and there still isn't a way to voice dial over Bluetooth? This is nuts! I am getting rid of this piece of crap! I am done unless I am missing something.

I look forward to my Droid from Verizon.. unfortunately the Voice Dial appears disfunctional.If i go "Call Joe Blow".I get "Calll Joe Blow at home' Call Joe Blow on mobile choices on the screen. ok I could live with that as my Razr sometimes had difficulty, but I MUST PHYSICALLY SELECT THE CORRECT CHOICE.. so much for hands free.what is even worse is that if I say Dial 800-555-1212 it also prompts me for phsyical confirmation.For a phone in a hands free state this is worthless.Is this something that software will correct in the future??? I am trying to decide whether to send this sucker back in my 3 day window

Just got my Xperia X10 today. Really psyched about it. So far so good but just one problem...the bluetooth doesn't seem to work?It'll say "turning on..." and then it'll stop immediately without going any further. Anyone got any suggestions?

How have SE managed to make such a simple task turn into a complete shambles? My experience of SE sync are:-
1. Being told that it doesnt work over Wifi? Why the hell not?!
2. It adding mutltiple entries for the same number in the same contact
3. It adding the same contact multiple times
4. Not being able to log in
5. Now not being able to make it stop syncing (or trying!) even when I have deleted the bloody account!!!!!!!
I have never been more disappointed with ANY product I have ever bought. In Halfords today and had to end the phone call because I couldnt hear who I was talking to. Pathetic.

I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and tried to use the Update Service to get the latest firmware for my phone, but after the new phone software was downloaded and started to install onto my phone it only got to a few millimeters of completing before it threw out an error saying that that it couldn't install the new software! Now my phone doesn't want to work anymore! Every time I start up the phone it just shows the x10 picture with an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle! What should I do? I need my phone working to complete daily tasks!

So I always used timescap to update my twitter.
But now, when I try to post a new message, it just says: "can't update twitter".
The weird thing is, it does update twitter and I can receiver updates from people I follow.
This means that the account and twitter is working, but I just can't update my own status.
Then I just Seesmic, to see if it's a problem with my account. But that just works fine.
The main difference between timescape working and then not, is that I was on holiday in America.
There, it worked fine. Then I got back in the Netherlands and all of the sudden I can't update my status anymore.
While in America, my X10 updated the time wherever I went.
Back home, it didn't update the time automatically, so I did it manually.
That's the only thing I can think of that changed.
Does anyone know anything I can do? (besides restoring the phone).
I don't know if i'm the only one with this problem, if not, there must be some sort of solution for it.

I purchase Jabra BT3030 Wireless Music and Calls, music doesn't play when WIFI is active/on. When WIFI is off/deactivated, music plays. I think this a sofware issue if not hardware.

I try to see a radar animation on a weather web page (m.yr.no/sted/Norge/Nordland/Andøy/Dverberg/radar.html) but get only the first picture. It is a gif animation. I downloaded it on my computer an tried to copy it to the mobile - with the same result. I just see the first picture of the animation. (it's about 2 MB)

The geotag on my x10 doesn't work! the gps is, on and everything is ok, google maps work just fine, only the geotaging don't work, I called sony ericsson and all the settings are ok, the gps sign appears on the camera but it doesn't work, can anyone help me?

Is anyone experiencing some issues with the X8,I have a few problems with the X8 which I list below.
1. Downloading MMS settings does not work.
2. Some operator messages cannot be replied to.
3. The Music player does not have Playlist!!! This is such a let down. I don't want to be scrolling all the time to play another song.
4. When the phone syncs with address book from Google it deleted the contacts!
5. In Call volume is low, and the slider displayed shows there is some more volume left but it wont move anymore.
6. Can the SW prevent crucial things from getting uninstalled. I mean there are some system apps that could be uninstalled thay may cause the phone to brick out.
7. No Alert Profile are available, either silent or audible. Nothing like discreet or extra loud.
8. The Keypad slows down so significantly when the message thread is a bit long. It gets annoying to type. Also Some words need to be unlearnt.
Am I missing something as to how the phone shold be configured or what?Other than that, the phone is awesome, great value for money. Although I wouldn't mind paying for a much higher spec version in the same form factor. I love my X8 more than this X10 or X10miniPro.

I have two google mail icons in my menus, one takes me to google mail the other one doesn't. I want to delete the one that doesn't work and cant find anywhere that tells you how. Anyone got any ideas?

Does anyone notice that when you are using bluetooth headset, the proximity sensor doesn't work? Is it a bug in Android v2.1 or am I missing something? I'm using MW-600 with X10i Android 2.1 if that matters.

This is probably a stupid question, but how do I set up speed dials on my X10? When i got it they set it up at Rogers so I can hold down the 1 button on the dialer and it goes to retrieve voice mail. I want to add a 2, 3, etc but cant figure it out.

I have a serious error on mobile now, I have both updated and restored the phone a few times. The problem is that I can not dial out or text message. But the Wap function works perfect!When I try to call the call terminated before it connect ! when I try to text message, you can not pour.

I just bought an Xperia x10 with 3 mobile. When I dial 333 to connect to my voicemail I can't get the keypad to come up and therefore can't navigate through the 3 voicemail service. I can only listen to my first message, can't delete, save or move to next message. Please help me in my struggle to bring up the keyboard or my Xperia gets a hose head in its bed.

I have loaded the pc companion software and managed to connect my phone to my pc, but I am unable to use my phone as a dial-up modem. The pc companion software seems to have no function to do this. The Internet on my phone works fine. How do I set up my experia x10 mini to use it as a dial-up modem?

Also checked if its is an issue with the sim card but its giving problems to other sim cards also.

I've tried the voice feature and it seems to be crap.I've tried it with, and without a bluetooth headset, and it doesn't recognize any name I say.For example, if I want to dial my wife, I say "call martha".it dials the toyota dealer. makes no sense at all.is there something i'm missing? some "set up" i need to go through so i can identify my voice? I'm asking it to dial names in my address book, actually just after she called, i tried it to call her back, no joy.

I just got my Xperia x10 mini pro today and so far I have noticed that my email doesn't update itself, I have to do it manually but it seems like the phone should be able to do that. I use a hotmail account on my phone and I would like to know if the email can update itself, if I have to wait for 2.1 to have this problem resolved or if it's just something that I'm missing. And sometimes the phone will say "Does not connect" when I do try to update it but it hasn't done it in the last few hours. In addition, there isn't any change in my real email account. I could read an email on my phone and still half an hour later that very same email will be considered new and unread. Is there any way to solve these issues?

My X10 has been charging over night, then it stops at 93% in the mornings... I have to unplug the charger, and the put it back in to get to 100% charge...It's been happening everyday for 3 days now... Starting to worry me...9 hours of charge not enough?
