Nov 1, 2010Im a UK user and currently have R2BA020 and have read somewhere that I won't get the 2.1 update unless I flash to 026? Does anyone know where I can do this and also is this even the case?

Aug 3, 2010I am an Admin from www.se-nse.net and would like to draw your attention to an article I have recently posted.
Whichever team of jokers that are responsible for the radio implementation on the X10 should lose their jobs. Firstly came the catastrophic battery drain and a ridiculous WiFi bug but thankfully both were fixed in the recent R2BA020 update. Having momentarily restored my faith along came R2BA026 bringing back the bug which makes my WiFi utterly useless!

Sep 29, 2010I am thinking about rooting my X10i so I can get the great apps that I have seen that are unfortunately limited to rooted phones only.
What is the quickest and easiest way to root my X10i on firmware R2BA026? (please proved any links necessary)
Will everything on my phone be deleted during rooting process?
Will I still be able to get future updates with SEUS or OTA like usual, or will I need to re-root each time.
What are the pros and cons of rooting?
Is there any well known problems when rooting with R2BA026 firmware? If so what are they and can they be resolved easily?
Also, if I cannot install updates via SEUS or OTA, is there anyway to have root access and still be able to do this? What would you recommend I do?
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Constant Restart Loop After Updated To R2BA026 Firmware
Nov 5, 2010I bought my phone 3 months ago and I had no problem with it "except the usual low in-call volume and battery life" but then I went on and I updated to R2BA026 firmware. First I did it OTA and the phone started restarting by itself and entering into constant restart loops. So I though it was a defective update and reupdated the device through SEUS to the same version but the problem is still there. The only way to get the device out of the restart loop is to take out the battery for few minutes and then put it back and start it, it works fine for a day or two and then it does the same thing and the problem appears again. I tried removing all applications and removing the memory card but the problem still appears and there is nothing I can do about.

format device NOPE again but lost all txts apps phone numbers not on sim etc
Need new sim as the one i had was old - got new sim solved nothing and they tried to charge me £15 for the new one GGGRRRRRRRRR
and finally device is faulty will replace the handset - which today reading this forum page

i discovered that the 360 app is NOT even compatable with the X10!! the why the F**K is it on my god **** phone then!!! in place of sonys functioning playnow service! i encourage all vodafone uk customers who see this to share their displeasure on this matter at the above thread.. this is surly a breach in trading standards and has angered me deeply
This whole branding thing has to stop.. or they should at the very least have to change the outer casing so we know it has been F****ed around with by muppets who know not what they are doing with such a high tech piece of gadgetry. Vodafone you are about to get an ear full and lose a Very Long term customer

I was told by Sony Eriksson that the upgrade for the newsystem is already available in UK but now is up to Vodafone to decide when they will release it. I'm able to access internet through my browser, but when connecting through GTALK, GMAIL, Android Market even Opera Mini 5 it says no connection Available.
I had similar problem on my previous phone SEW995 which i resolved it setting the Proxy Server as HTTP (by default its Multiple).
Is there any way i can do the same on the android?

Oct 28, 2010I'm getting pretty crazy. The phone is completely unlocked i can access all menus with no problem but as soon as i make a call it says "Call ended" and messages remain unsent with a red exclamation mark. No messages or calls can be received either. I've tried 2 different sim cards with different providers and on both cases the signal is full but the same problem persists.

Jul 29, 2010So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.

I didn't fancy typing them all into the phone, so thought I would use the Sony Ericsson sync and put them into the pc first via the PC Companion sync application, and set up the sync to transfer them into my phone. I have tried a test run adding only a couple of addresses to my contacts on the pc, and adding one to my phone, but when I do a sync, the addresses don't transfer either way. I know that the actual sync is working because I added photos too and they transfer....... I must be doing something wrong that is easily rectified?

I updated to the firmware .27 just a few days ago, and i had lots of new Contacts in my phone, BEFORE i updated.
And then i updated to 27, and all my contacts were removed ( at the time i had no clue i had all the contacts on SE.com database ) so i copied my old contacts from my SIM-card, and just before i synced i saw all my mew contacts from before i updated the telephone in my database, but now when the telephone synced again it replaced all the new contacts in my database with my old contacts from my SIM-card wich i copied into the phone after the update. how i can get my old database back from SE.com `?
