Iv just acquired a X10 mini. Am very excited! But see I have a lot to learn with all this extra technology. One QUESTION tho. Does it have .or where can I get a voice/sound-recording app. Id need to do voice recordings at meetings, and as yet cant find this option.

I currently have an old Nokia N96 so any modern phone will be an upgrade, however I need to mae sure that the new phone has at least the same quality camer and video recorder as my N96. I had almost set my self on the Iphone 4 but luckily I waited an what a good choice that was with all the problems the iphone 4 is having. So yet again I started looking and have always liked the x10 because of its build and camera but hated it because of it having old 1.6 android and no hd recording or flash. Then suddenly I read the somone has managed to root the x10 and so im guessing that it wont be long until 2.2 with flash and hd recording and multitouch is released ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to control and adjust the sound level when recording video? I recently took a video at a concert and the sound is clipping really bad. I also tried to connect various external microphones to the phone but then I only get statics / clicking noises.
Is it possible to connect an external microphone to the phone? (except for the one from the hands free set). Especially with the coming HD video recording feature for the X10 the sound quality really doesn't measure up to the video quality.
First I'm very new to smart phones: I use the application called Handcent SMS, if I hold down the Message bubble when texting I have an option menu appear > Message Options > Copy Message Text.
1) Question: Where does it save the copied text to and how can I paste it to lets say another app like the already built in Phone Book.
2) What is a good place to see a list of function apps for the Droid, and why is the latest build still 1.6 when other phones already have 2.2? (sorry if that question has been asked before.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has noticed this, it might not be a big issue (like the MT, 65k display instead of 16M, android 1.6, etc.) but this small details make an average phone into a great phone. My questions are:
1) Rotating from landscape to portrait mode works fine (but sluggish) as long as you rotate the phone to your left, but it doesn't work if you rotate it to the right or upside down, is this hardware or software related?
2) In the same topic why is it so sluggish to rotate from Landscape to Portrait? (again is it SW or HW related)
I really don't know how to record a voice. Anyone can help me??Are you happy with your Xperia X10? I am not happy, it can be worse than any Nokia's phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted my x10. Everything is going awesome so far except one thing. I have no idea where my voice search went. I re-flashed it with an unbranded rom (R2BA026) and voice search is missing! I don't know where to go from here.

I know this is nothing to do with the Android aspect of the Xperia X10 but was wondering what the rest of you thought of the voice call quality. The Wife and I both have one and when I call my friends on mine they say they can barely understand what I'm saying, when the Wife calls me on hers to my office land line I can barely understand what she is saying and to be honest calling each other on them is equally as bad. I'm going to test out both phones tonight with the wife using our home land line and see what she thinks... She's always had a mobile where I on the other hand wasn't interested in them until recently now they are more like a mobile office than just a phone. I'm never in a "bad" signal strength area when people tell me to speak up and I don't talk quietly anyway, they also tell me that as well as the muffled/distorted voice it's grainy and drops out frequently... Like someone is intermittently muting the mic, for example. I've had a ferret about the net and I'm drawing a blank, a few reviews say the voice call quality is poor/awful but than there are loads of others that say it's great. I love the phone and the rest of it is outstanding! I've stuck the Helix launcher on it, downloaded plenty apps for work (I'm a Software Engineer for Networked DVR's) including TFTP,FTP,SSH clients/servers, synchronized my calender and contacts with Gmail, ported all of my personal and work notes on to it, got a Dropbox set up, got a few gadgets to enable/disable the WiFi/APN/GPS as I need them so it doesn't chew up the battery... I literally almost couldn't be happier! I'm loathed to think that the one thing that doesn't actually work very well on this is in essence it's primary purpose and based on what I've read so far on the net I would say it's just my phone but as we have two doing the same thing it can't be. Does anyone else have a problem with the voice call audio quality or are there any known related hardware issues ?

Today I heard about an update for the market that includes an auto update feature for installed apps. But I, like many others, do not see this option on the market.
Does anyone have any idea how to get it? or if I can't get it, when can I?
i have a Xperia mini its been an awesome phone however what i miss is the google voice commands. can anyone help me understand how and from where can i have this app (market dose not have it) i am from India and the xperia mini dose not have this apps pre installed.

The voice of the person on the other end is horrible, i previously had a black berry pearl, I checked the website for factors which cause bad call quality. Even though my signal strength is good, charge is full , the call volume is less, the other person is not in an elevator , not using any blue tooth or microphone or not using the speaker mode, the call quality si still bad.Has anybody faced this?. I either get a list of phone numbers I don't recognize (998-xxx-xxx, etc) or after clearly saying "call voice mail" it comes up with "open calendar". Do I need to train it to my voice, or does it just not work? Is there another ap out there that works? Before got this I had heard rave revews about android voice dialing, now I am very disappointed.

There is a button on the handsfree unit (Jabra BT2080) that activates voice dialing but it does nothing on my phone! How do I get it to activate the voice dialing on my phone?

I see in some videos the google search bar in 2.1 is suppsoed to to have the little microphone icon to activate voice search. I flashed 2.1 rodgers firmare onto my x10a and when the phone boots I can see the icon for a few seconds then it deisapears!! Anyone else with the same problem? Was it something taken out by rodgers in their version of firmware?

I have my voice mail set up but when I receive calls if I miss the call it does not go to voice mail and the caller get a message saying the number is not recognized. Does anyone know if this is a phone problem or a network problem only had this since I have had my X10.
