Just received my X10 and found it great apart from not being able to set up caller groups and profiles as you can on any other phone i,ve used. Does anyone know how this can be done?

how do I get caller Id. All incoming numbers are shown as 'unknown' even if they are in my phonebook.

In nokia we can save profile with ringtones, message tone etc. and we can activate any one of the profiles as the active profile
I used to have specific ring tones and volumes for my office, travel, outdoor, meeting, silent etc.
I organised heavy ring tones for travel outdoor, and mild ones at office etc.
And i used to activate any desired profile, based on my requirement. It was easy and handy.
Is there any similar application in XPERIA X10?
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to sending multi sms to groups

Ya know, you could either have "Meeting", "Indoors", "Silent" etc.I know you can hold down the power button to get a couple of options there, but I would really love to be able to switch between different profiles, with maybe having a few extra options in order to switch to a "Power Saver" profile for example.

I have my voice mail set up but when I receive calls if I miss the call it does not go to voice mail and the caller get a message saying the number is not recognized. Does anyone know if this is a phone problem or a network problem only had this since I have had my X10.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMyself, started with backup and restore, backup was completed and also backed up my contacts to flash just in case. Hooked phone to PC companion and was informed an update was available. Followed through the update process and when the phone was disconnected and powered on as instructed I was still left with 1.6. Now when I connect to PC companion I am informed software is up to date with 1.6.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was unable to receive MMS messages since upgrading to 2.1. I spoke to voda and now have the fix for anyone having problems. It may work on other networks, it may not, but it definitely sorted it for me on vodafone. Anyway, here goes:
Click on settings.
Click on Wireless & Networks.
Click on Mobile Networks.
Click on Access Point Names.
Click the Menu Button, (Left hand silver button at bottom of phone).
Click Reset To Default.
Once you have done the above, turn off your phone, remove your battery and sim card, and wait at least 10 seconds and then replace your sim card and battery. Turn your phone back on and job done, you can now receive MMS texts again. But do note, any previously received MMS texts will still be un-openable so you will need to ask the sender to resend.
I got the SE Xperia 10 mini and I am trying to connect to PC Companion. when I try to connect to install it it doesn't do anything what am I doing wrong? Really need some photos and music on the phone but cant seem to do anything as bluetooth doesn't work either!

Can any body tell me the way, how can i confirm my phone, it shows me to switch off the phone unplug the battery n wait for 5 sec. then reinsert then plug the USB n continue holding the power button but it can't detected my phone.

I've just tried to update my X10 to the new 2.1 firmware, with absolutely no luck.I get through all the stages, everything works fine, no errors reported, everything reset on the phone, all looked great.But, when I check the version its' still at 1.6. And every time i connect it to the PC after the upgrade, it tells me there's an update available, just to go through the same thing again, and still leave me with 1.6.
Any ideas?I tried uninstalling and reinstalling PC Companion.No change. I'm on Orange UK, and the update only became available to me today.

I can't install the PC companion 2.00.146. i already downloaded it but when its time to install it it says "Error Number: 0x80040707. Description: DDL function call crashed: NewUI.ISGlobalSubclassDialog." i already downloaded it 5 times assuming that maybe the PC companion was not downloaded properly but again the same problem occurs.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFew days ago i had trouble with the keyboard of my X10, it was, for unknown reason, lock in Korean and i couldn't change it.So i decided to reset my phone to factory setup. This worked and the keyboard came back to french.But now i can't access to any Google app, as Market, Gmail, etc.It's asking me to log in to my google account (it never ask me that before, even when i bought the phone), but it's always telling me that my password is wrong and advice me to connect http:/google.com/accounts on my PC. I did it and i can access to my google account without any problem.Then i updated my phone to Android 2.1, but it didn't solve anything, i tried to repair it with Update service and PC Companion, but it didn't help more.I found on internet that i could put "null" as my password, but then it's asking me to reproduce a capcha, i did but it's asking me to reproduce another one, again and again.I noticed than my phone seems to have some trouble to connect with my SIM card, don't know if it's link.I don't really want to send my phone to repair for 3 weeks, but this is becoming really annoying, what can i do ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got the mobile 3 days back.I am unable to make or receive calls on X10 from yesterday. Have tried the following things : 1) Switching Off 2) Updating the software. But both these methods have not helped. Able to use WAP/GPRS but calls are not getting connected. Have tried to change the call waiting settings, phone says Network or Sim Card Error.Signal strength is also pretty decent (3-4 bars). I have tried my sim in other phones Nokia, Samsung, and it works perfectly fine.Have tried other sims on X10 and they too are showing the same error. Can't figure out what the problem is?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a couple of days the phone is unable to make or receive calls, or send or receive txt messages.If I try and make a call it attempts to start the call, but immediately comes back with unavailable. Incoming calls go straight to voicemail. Outgoing txt messages don't work. What is strange is that if I try and browse the web (over 3G) then that works fine! I have tried doing a network scan again, and reregistering to Tmobile, but that doesn't make a difference.
If I turn the phone off and on again, then it is fine and all calls/txts are working again. I have seen this 4 times now with my phone. It doesn't always happen, but it has happened a few times now which is worrying. The annoying thing is that you obviously don't know when incoming calls stop. You only find out the problem has occured when you attempt to make a call or send a TXT.
I can send MMS to others but cannot download the MMS attachment sending from others.

But i can't connect on any other app. tried it on google goggles, shazam, timescape, Facebook app, Tweetdeck, etc. but i couldn't connect, EVER. So has anyone else faced this prob? or any idea why is it happening. or is it that these apps work only on 3G networks?

View 3 Replies View RelatedPhone has been working fine for about 2 months with data, MMS and 3G with 3 POP accounts and 1 Exchange account all sync'd up and working. Then, on Sat at around 7:30pm I realized the phone was no longer getting emails (Outlook was chiming away but phone on desk eerily quite). Picked it up and noticed 3G indicator wasn't there. Recycled power - No change. Updated firmware to R2BA020 - No change. The APN settings are correct and haven't been changed since working. AT&T Unlimited data plan is in good standing. So, although nothing has changed, I can no longer get any data (email/web/facebook/etc.) nor can I send or receive MMS. All of these work if I turn WiFi on but not over the cell network.
