Aug 21, 2010Why is the portrait qwerty so hard to type on? The iPhone one is so easy compared to this. I always press the wrong buttons!

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Android Keyboard Response - Landscape And Portrait Mode
Sep 2, 2010I am having a lot of difficulty with my keyboard in both landscape and portrait. I am using the "Android Keyboard" that came with the phone. Examples of what I am referring to:
1. Wrong Key Showing: I type one letter and a different one is actually displayed.
2. Horrible Response: I get half way through an email and realize I need to fix an error in the middle of the paragraph. Trying to get the cursor where I want it a extremely hard to do and often it will move, but not where it is suppose to be moved to. Other times the cursor simply doesn't move at all and I have to erase all the back to where the error is and than retype. And no the cut and paste or copy and paste do not work since the cursor is not moving.
3. Random sentences just erase: I will be typing and hit the back key to erase a character, but instead it erases a line or two and won't stop.
Suggestions and no I am not going to root and void the warranty.

Nov 19, 2010I recently purchased Xperia X10 mini pro handset, however I am facing with one problem.
I am not able to drag down the notification area when I am holding the mobile in portrait mode.
If I shift to landscape mode (by sliding the qwerty keyboard out), then when I press at the top status bar, I can drag the notification area down.

Jun 22, 2010I didn't really pay attention, but since i have been on these forums I noticed when I type a post my keyboard lags. It isn't too bad while in portrait mode but when I'm in landscape my keyboard lags a LOT. I havent noticed it on any other sites. It is at its absolute worst when posting in landscape on this forum.

Jul 23, 2010I notice the task bar goes into the hidden mode. I will see it and then it will goes up and disappear. Like in auto hide in window if you will. I look through all settings and I don't see any where you can remotely set it. The only way to get around to it is to power off and on the phone.

Nov 15, 2010Well looks like the Xperia x10 supprots a T9 keyboard like a normal mobile phone except Sony ericson has decided to hide it. What you do is say go to start text message select the input box hold finger down on it and it will say imput method. Select chinese keyboard. When you got to type hold the EN button with the tool on it it will come up with menu. Select both portrait keyboard and Landscape keyboard and select 12 Key Phonepad. And whalla you have T9 keyboard on your phone.

So after getting back from my short vacation I decided to write a step-by-step guide which also includes screenshots to make it easier for you First of all I will explain how to install the original HTC keybaord, then I will tell you where to customize your own HTC keyboard for those of you that prefer it customized How to install the HTC keybaord on your Xperia X10Before you start, make sure your phone is set to allow apps from unknown sources. To enable this, go to Settings > Applications and make sure Unknown Sources is checked 1. Download the HTC Keyboard here2. Open the zip archive and copy the files to your desktopAT&T users will not be able to install this keyboard using steps 3-8 as they cannot side load apps. If you are an AT&T user, scroll down to see the instructions at the bottom of this guide explaining how to install the HTC keyboard. When you have done that, go to step 9 3. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable, drag down the notification bar on your Xperia and tap "USB COnnected" then tap "Mount". Alternatively, some people prefer to slide the SD card into a Memory Card slot on your computer4.
