Is there a phone number search facility on the Xperia? I know there's a google button to search direct but could do with a numbers rather than a contacts one.

The face recognition thing on my X10, which used to put contacts' name by their pictures, now seems not to be working. It was never perfect, of course, but it doesn't seem to be working at all now. Photos that were marked with people's names now longer show the information tags, with the exception of very few.
Could it be that I have somehow turned off the facility? I have used Advanced Task Manager to kill a few applications, but if so I can't find how to switch it back on.
The only thing I have done recently is to arrange photos in to different folders, using the SE file manager on the computer. Might this have affected it? I am beginning to tear out what's left of my hair. Can anyone offer any suggestions, please?
So I'm used to a blackberry and especially how easy it is to dial out on a blackberry. I just got an x10 and I'm very excited about what I've been able to do so far but dialing out takes 3-5 button presses and some searching for the names of the person I'm looking for.is there an app or other way to get a phone call off to a specific persons number. I'm hoping there may exist some way I can just start typing a name and click "call" like I would on the blackberry.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have phone numbers stored that was transferred from my HTC phone that have a "p" in the dialing sequence to introduce a pause for e.g. a calling card. When this number is used in the X10 it will not recognize the "p" as a pause.
What is the correct character to use?
I have the new x10 mini and cant work out how to or where the new contacts are added to after the initial transfer are,can anyone shed any light on how to check this please?
View 9 Replies View RelatedYesterday (08/08/10) my X10 said there was a new update available and to download correctly I needed to connect it to a computer update through PC Companion 2.0. I did this and followed all the on screen instructions correctly. I got to the final stage and it asked me to disconnect the phone switch it off remove the battery, reinsert and then turn it back on again. The instructions said it may take awhile for the phone to come back on again because the phone will be updating. So far my phone has not come back on again after 24 hours of waiting, all that happens is the sony ericsson logo is displayed for about 10 seconds and then the phone turns off then the same process is repeated. Any ideas whats happened or what I can do to fix this or will it be a job for Sony? I have emailed them but of course they were absolutly no help what so ever.

I see in some videos the google search bar in 2.1 is suppsoed to to have the little microphone icon to activate voice search. I flashed 2.1 rodgers firmare onto my x10a and when the phone boots I can see the icon for a few seconds then it deisapears!! Anyone else with the same problem? Was it something taken out by rodgers in their version of firmware?
