Sep 20, 2010Long time lurker. My question is how can I turn up my call waiting volume. Ive looked everywhere and I've tried everything. I don't hear any beeps at all.

Aug 25, 2010Why is it when you are talking to someone and you get a call waiting, the person you are initially talking to, also hears the call waiting alert as well. I don't think thats right.

Oct 10, 2010I think i discovered a huge issue with the new firmware. When i have a second line calling me the screen does not wake up allowing me to switch to the second call. In the past, when a second call comes in the proximity sensor would wake the screen and allow me to take or reject the call. Now i cant even see who is calling. Since i use the phone for business, this is a big, big issue. Anyone else experience this?
Can anyone please check this for me please by calling their voicemail and then dialing their own cell # from another phone please. Thanks
I feel this is wrong since before the update, the screen would wake immediately when a new call came in. What are your thoughts? the phone screen should become visable immediately when the phone is removed from your face like it did before. Now it is only instant when you dont have a second call coming in, there is no reason the screen should be delayed with a second call.

I have not had the phone long enough to have much call waiting experiences but the times I did, I noticed I had to press menu and then go thru a menu to "click over" to the other call. This is g=fine and dandy from the comfort of your couch but is not advisable if you are driving a car. Is there a one button shortcut to go to the other call without having to look at a menu?

Jul 17, 2010I noticed that when turning down the volume of the ringer with the volume rocker it doesn't automatically turn down the notification volume as well. Is there a way to set the volume rocker to adjust both notification and ringer volume to the same level? You can test this by going under Settings/Sound and Display/Ringer Volume...and try adjusting the volume with the rocker and it only adjust the Ringer Volume.

One thing that is annoying me and that I can't seem to change is the call waiting option. I have set up my own call options and they work fine - what I am having problems with is when I call someone who is already on a call - my phone does not tell me that I am waiting. I have always had this with my other phones without having to set up or do anything - how do I manage this on teh Samsung Galaxy S? I am with Vodafine and have Android 2.2 Froyo.
Samsung Moment :: Groups Missing In Moment Gmail Contacts And Call Waiting Drops Call
Dec 12, 2009In Gmail I have my contacts sorted by groups, easy enough, on occasion I need to add a new group or move a contact from one group to another, which is easy enough using a pc and my Gmail account. However, I cannot seem to add new groups or edit existing groups on my Moment. I can see the groups, I can sort by groups, but I cannot find an option that will allow me to add or edit any groups. Does anyone know how this is done on the Moment? I suppose I could use the browser to log on to my Gmail account and change it from there but isnt that sort of redundant since I am on my Gmail account using the Moment? Also, maybe someone knows when Moment contacts sync with my Gmail why dont the contact photos sync? One more thing, anyone ever on a call and it goes dead and after a few seconds the phone rings with unknown in the caller ID. When answer it is some from my address book that should have appeared in my caller ID Anyway, now I have to quickly hang up on this person to call the person my phone hung up on to receive this call. Its like the call waiting gets disengaged and hangs up the present call to allow the new incoming. I also had this problem on a HTC Hero I had before I got the Moment also.

Sep 17, 2010Anyone has experienced this problem on the Vibrant? The call keeps breaking up and I have this issue both calling and receiving. Not using the earphones but when I am holding and talking,, the call seems to break up and I've had people complain on the other side as well.
Not sure why this is happening. I had a Ultra Silke case put on it. Is that blocking anything? Or is this an inherent problem others have experienced?

I was in a loud setting today and I could barely her my conversations. Oct 18, 2010I always keep my system volume turned all the way down. I don't know why anyone would want their phone to make obnoxious sounds when turning off. When do most people turn their phones off? Church, movies, meetings, basically anytime you want it to be QUIET. Anyway, I digress.
Something keeps turning up my system volume. Often when my phone shuts down due to low battery I hear the stupid shutdown sound. I think it may also have happened a few times when powering the phone off manually. I am rooted and I know I could rename the files, but I am getting tired of working around the bugs on this thing and having to keep track of all the files I rename. I try to keep it as "stock" as possible.
Any ideas on what might be turning my system volume up?

Sep 15, 2010I accidentally activated my wifi through the notification bar. As soon as it was activated, i simply tapped it again to shut it down, however, it failed to do so. All that happened was that the wifi had a blue color and off in the bottom. I tried turning it off through the power setting widget, it says that updating wifi. It was stuck like that until i restarted the phone.

Aug 24, 2010I made the switch from a BB Bold 9000 to the Captivate last Friday and so far I am in love! There is just one issue that I would love to gloss over but it's important given that it is a phone so I'd like your input. There was one other thread on this that sounds kind of like what I'm experiencing but I just wanted to be sure before I go in and exchange it.
When I am on a call, it is rather difficult for me to hear the person on the other end. I have the volume turned all the way up but not only is that not that loud but they also sound muffled. If it were one or the other I might be able to deal, but I never had trouble hearing on my BlackBerry and I never had the volume turned all the way up. It's gotten to the point where I'm unknowingly pressing the phone against my ear really hard so I can hear better. Has anyone else noticed that callers sound muffled? Should I exchange it?

Sep 10, 2009I just got my samsung galaxy (and love it), but when i make/receive calls, i can barely hear the person on the other end. i have my call volume set to the highest (5), but it's still just too difficult to hear. has anyone else had a problem like this, or does it sound like a defect? maybe there's an app that can fix this? i bought my phone on ebay, so i have two more days to report any issues defects with my phone to be able to return it.
