Oct 24, 2010Is there any way to lock the screen while on a call? My kids can't get through a conversation with grandma without hanging up on her.

Samsung Vibrant :: Disable Locking During Calls?
Oct 2, 2010The one thing I DON'T love is that about 1 second after a phone call starts, it goes into power save/lock mode/black screen, and I have to press the power button to get the screen back. This is during a call. Yes, I have set the regular power save options to stay on longer (2 minutes) but this does not affect it DURING a phone call. The saleslady told me it's a "feature" to keep your face from accidentally touching the touchscreen and unintentionally ending a call.
I really wish I could have the darned screen STAY ON during phone calls. It's such a pain to be dealing with some voicemail system & having to "press 1 for this, press 2 for that", but the thing keeps turning off IMMEDIATELY & I have to keep pressing the power button.
Isn't there a way to change this setting?
Samsung Vibrant : Vibrant - Voice Call Breaking Up / Way To Fix
Sep 17, 2010Anyone has experienced this problem on the Vibrant? The call keeps breaking up and I have this issue both calling and receiving. Not using the earphones but when I am holding and talking,, the call seems to break up and I've had people complain on the other side as well.
Not sure why this is happening. I had a Ultra Silke case put on it. Is that blocking anything? Or is this an inherent problem others have experienced?

Sep 11, 2010So I dropped my vibrant (with rubber SGP Silk case) about 4 feet from the ground and the screen is completely destroyed. There is no external damage, but functionality is completely gone. I got my vibrant about a month ago.

Nov 7, 2010I downloaded a kernal on ryans lag fix and then it made my phone get stuck on the VIBRANT SAMSUNG screen so i tried to fix it by using odin, but all it did was make it go to the Galaxy s sign now, any suggestions on how i can fix this? Aug 16, 2010I've had the Vibrant for a couple days now.Unfortunately, I have a VERY weak 3G signal and my call quality really isn't that great.In my house, when I hold my phone right next to my Dad's Nuron, he has a full 3G signal while I have 0 bars.That is frustrating to see.The phone isn't incapable of having 3G signal, when I travel outside of my neighborhood it usually has a very strong signal.It seems that whenever I am around a lot of trees or in buildings, the signal is very weak.I mostly just have an Edge signal.Also, the call quality is terrible. I don't think it has to do with the signal because even when I have full 3G bars, it still sucks.

Oct 10, 2010I think i discovered a huge issue with the new firmware. When i have a second line calling me the screen does not wake up allowing me to switch to the second call. In the past, when a second call comes in the proximity sensor would wake the screen and allow me to take or reject the call. Now i cant even see who is calling. Since i use the phone for business, this is a big, big issue. Anyone else experience this?
Can anyone please check this for me please by calling their voicemail and then dialing their own cell # from another phone please. Thanks
I feel this is wrong since before the update, the screen would wake immediately when a new call came in. What are your thoughts? the phone screen should become visable immediately when the phone is removed from your face like it did before. Now it is only instant when you dont have a second call coming in, there is no reason the screen should be delayed with a second call.

Everytime I call anyone they say I sound like a robot and they can barely understand me, its definitely the phone and wondering if this is a common issue or I just need to go replace my phone. Aug 21, 2010I love my new vibrant and recently developed a dead pixel. I've whipped my phone clear of finger prints now and still when I open my flashlight application, I find a single blue pixel. Unless it's grey/black it becomes quite annoying. I hardly notice it with my nexus one live wallpaper but thats about the only time I don't notice it. Should I stop complaining and deal with it or should ask for a replacement and throw out 10 bucks(and later pay 15 for a new screen protector)to ship it back hoping it doesn't get lost by the postal service which would mean I'd have to pay for the replacement/further deal with hell in that situation(Sorry, never had good times with them)and start backing up now?

Jan 5, 2010So my End Call button no longer locks the phone today. I always hit it because I am trying to squeeze all I can from the battery. I did install the Not Call Log app because I wanted the button to return to Home instead of the default, but I did uninstall it. If I long press the button, it still brings up the menu to Power Off, Airplane mode, etc. It just does not quick lock the phone, which I really like.
More info: The end call button does re-lock the phone (turn off the screen) when it is already locked, but still does nothing when I am sitting on the Home screen (when I really want to lock the thing).

Is there a way to extend the time between total blackout and locking? Is there a way to turn off auto screen lock all together but keep the auto fade out and auto black out? I am always able to remember to manually lock the screen and the auto lock is annoying but I still like the power saving of the screen fade and black out.

Aug 27, 2010In the contacts tab when you switch between groups then back to contacts, that color above the names has a noticeable hint of green to it, then when you scroll down a little bit then back up it's black again. Same thing on my vibrant. I'd take a picture or video of it but i dont think it will show on camera.

Aug 31, 2010my Evo's screen will lock up...by that I mean the phone continues to function if I get a call or text, but I can't press any buttons or anything else on the screen (I'm still on v2.1). I can press the Power button and it brings up the power options dialog, but I'm unable to select any option or dismiss it. Usually if I wait a few minutes the screen will eventuall unfreeze and allow normal operation, but on a couple of occasions I had to pull the battery. Coming from the Palm Pre I'm used to this kind of crap, but I was hoping I left it behind me. Is there a way to reboot the phone just using the hard keys (i.e., some combination of Power + volume)? This would be an acceptable workaround...in fact, I would pay for an app that would turn the Power button into a "power off" button with a long press (hold the key down for 10 seconds and it turns off the phone). Otherwise, this is just annoying, but so far I'm living with it.

Samsung Vibrant :: Stuck On Galaxy S Screen
Sep 2, 2010We tried to root it and apply the lag fix via "OneClickLagFix" app (from the Market), and the phone was very fast for about a week, then slowed down SIGNIFICANTLY. Tonight, it just froze and will not boot past the Galaxy S screen. The screen will then go black and the four buttons at the bottom stay lit. We have gone into recovery and wiped the cache but no luck. Have not yet tried to wipe user data.
Transfer all data from internal storage to a separate drive, then wipe phone? If so, will I have to "flash" a stock/custom ROM to get the phone back up?
