I work for a cell phone company and most of the time when the prompt please install usb drivers, all it is is a setting on the device itself. To resolve this issue, here are the steps:

Since I rooted to Radioactive Froyo 1.8.22 I've not been able to get my phone to connect to my PC. I tried uninstalling the programs I used to flash, [including deleting the registry files] and even re-downloaded the samsung update program, ran it to the point where it installs the drivers, and it then quit, and it still will not work.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy computer with vista x64 has about a 50% success rate at recognizing when I hook up my Moment via USB. I've installed the Samsung USB driver for mobile phones v1.3.150.0, as well as the Samsung New PC Studio software. I have debugging checked, tried different USB ports, etc, and the only thing that seems to work is power cycling the phone. android 2.1. I suspect this has something to do with the "Abnormal Disconnect" error I keep getting from pdanet.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThought some people may be interested in how to get JAR/JAD files running on their Samsung Moment (this should work for most Android devices, but I've been running on my Moment). I also don't think that all JAR/JAD programs convert; but so far most mine have...
1. With your JAD & JAR files, go to: Get APK and convert to an APK file
2. Save your APK file onto your SD card
3. Download AppManager (one word) or comparable program that allows you to install from your SD card
4. Install Java J2ME Runner App
5. Using AppManager, install the created apk file from your SD card
Your file should be found both in your main folder; as well as in the J2ME's "App Manager". You may need to play with the configuration to get the program to fit alright. I have Auto detect Game Canvas clicked; but have had to change it for a few games.It's not perfect, but it seems to work alright with some of my old java games.

Idk if you guys heard of this but it is a great app. It will make your backlight blink at intervals to notify you of a sms or missed call. It is great considering that the moment doesnt have a LED light. It is free so try it out.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI picked up a Samsung Moment through Sprint back around June. I wanted the new Sprint 4G phone but figured I would make due with the Moment until the craze died down. Anyhow, I own a small firearm forum,Semi-auto Rifles. This is my main reason for going with a driod phone. It allows me to monitor my site away from home without popping out my laptop. Well for the last 2-3 months the Moment did it's job flawlessly. I was able to use it to maintain my site...even when my cable modem blew up one time and some cable guy disconnected our cable by mistake.My problem started this past weekend when all of a sudden my Samsung Moment started having issues locating my website. I keep getting the same "Web Page Not Available" message. Now sometimes it will allow me to access the home page and then freak out on the forum index page. This is the only site I have trouble with, I can access any other site and surf until I'm blue in the face. I took my phone down to the local Sprint store and they said my phone was out dated. So after 15mins and deleting all my Apps, they had my phone working again. Then come about 2-3hrs later, I started getting the same Web Page Not Available" message. During the whole time my site has been up and running with zero issues.
Anyhow, does anyone have a clue? I'm lost and this phone is worthless if I can't even access my own website. While I was at the Sprint store, I started tooling around on the new HTC 4G phone. It pulled up my web site and worked for about 10-15 minutes before it started giving me the same dang "Web Page Not Working" message. So I'm not sure if it's a phone thing or a Sprint thing? Then for the interest of Science, I started surfing other related forums to see if maybe Sprint was blocking firearm forums. I was able to tool around on other gun forums for about 10 minutes with zero issues.
I have recently been given a samsung moment for sprint, unfortunately i have verzons service and i am very happy with them. i have played with several android phones but this is the first time i have had one of my own, and i am still learning.. i have to questions. 1) is it possible to change the network on the phone. 2) can i do it myself, and if so how???
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, I mentioned that I exchanged my first Moment due to a clicking noise that would occur any time I pressed down on the glass near the left side edge. I originally thought it was a defect in the glass area and that maybe the plastic underneath had cracked etc. However, tonight I realized the clicking noise is actually from loose plastic on the outer edge of the QK where the down arrow is and the Z key.
The two Moments I've owned each had this defect. I'd say it was just wear and tear except I've only had each phone a total of 3 days. I have my wife's phone as a comparison and her phone has never had this problem, whereas my two phones have and each of them were perfectly fine at the time of purchase.I'm not returning the second one unless it gets considerably worse, for now it's just a clicking noise that you can hear in a quiet room. I'm guessing this is due to the fact I carry it in my jeans pockets and she carries it in a purse, so there is not as much pressure on the phone.

After about 10 mins the lock screen comes up and if I unlock it quick enough the phone runs fine but if I dont unlock it within a certain period of time it will just go back into booting up and go back to showing the samsung logo.
The phone has been running very sluggish since Ive been experiencing this and Im about to do a factory data reset but I dont feel like reloading all my apps and redoing all my settings. I have tried many times with many different drivers. uninstall them all and tried again with no luck. In the device manager next to the S3C6410 Android ADB there is always a yellow " ! ". I loaded kies.uninstall it then install the newest one. Also installed the sdk. Still no adb driver will load. . wtf. mass storge works. Just not the adb. It's driving me nuts.

I have installed the ADB drivers, and have gotten to the point where I need to start loading files onto the phone, however; I am now unable to mount the phone via USB. On the phone it says "USB connected", but the device does not appear in my computer. I should mention I am doing this from windows XP, so I was not able to follow the guide exactly, however the drivers did seem to install successfully. Currently in the device manager I see "ABD Interface > SAMSUNG GALAXY"
I just finished dealing with Samsung Technical Support. First, a lengthy session w/ online Chat, ending with

So, I went to online phone support, and was eventually told that Samsung has no Kies, mini-Kies, or any other support software for the Samsung Vibrant in with 64-bit computers (i.e. computers running Windows 7 in 64-bit mode). I assume this means that the 32-bit software works fine, as most 32-bit software does, but the hangup (no phone pun intended) is in the drivers. That's why it choked when I connected my phone and it tried to install the drivers. Can't use the software without the driver, and can't use the 32-bit driver in 64-bit windows.

I don't know why she thought the one Samsung makes available when someone clicks through their support links was not good enough, but she was very definite she wanted me to use the other one instead. Here's the general Vibrant support links for downloads:

Incidentally, while I was getting Online Chat support, I was told:
"Yes,it is compatible with the 64 bit windows also."
She also said that the full Kies (not just the mini-Kies) would be made available for the Vibrant, but since she was wrong about the 64-bit, ....
The phone support person did tell me that Samsung is working on making it available for 64-bit, but had no idea when that would be. She said, loyally, "soon."
I wanted to use Samsung's Kies software to connect (tether, with the USB cable) my phone to my laptop to use as an Internet connection. Now I can't do that until either (a) I find a 3rd party app that does this, or Samsung gets around to developing 64-bit drivers.
Anybody have any experience with using any 3rd party apps to tether to a 64-bit Win7 computer, for Internet service?
As I think about it, I think there's no excuse for Samsung having wasted so much of my time before telling me it was impossible. The pages their website lead me to said nothing about it working only for 32-bit. The software did not check to see if I had 64-bit and warn me it was fruitless. Online tech support said it would work with 64-bit. The page the phone tech support person took me to did specify 32-bit. Only then did I find out that I'd wasted all of this time. My time wasting was increased since I worried that maybe there was some problem with my laptop, so went through the whole process again with my desktop before trying to deal w/ Tech Support.
Not sure if this goes here or not, but I am having problems getting my Windows 7 machine to recognize my BH2. Is there a way to get the drives so I can install them so I can use my Mass Storage on my phone?

I couldnt get my device to show up so I used "deview" to remove the drivers so i could reinstall them. Now my computer tells me it is unable to locate them.

When I try to reinstall the samsung drivers it comes up with access denied. I've got a galaxy s4 mini and tab 2. Same thing happens to both.
