I did the backup/restore before updating my Moment yesterday.For some reason one app (Locale) did not come back.The new version of Locale ($9.99) has been changed substantially and has been widely panned in the comments.The old version which I had (and is free) is supposed to be better.Is there a site for old apps?Also, I have another Moment which has the old app.Is it possible to "copy" it?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI went in on Friday morning to the Sprint store and got the update for my Moment. I must say it fixed my key complaints. When I got back to my office (where I never got GPS reading before) it showed me on Google maps right where I was -Yeah! The lag in keystroke to letters appearing appears to be almost entirely gone. And Battery Life is really improved - to a crazy point (in a good way). I pulled it off the charger this morning, checked some scores today and then pretty much spent all evening downloading apps / playing games, etc and I was shocked when I got done - Still had about 70% battery life. Good job Sprint. I would have liked to have had this w/o going into the store, but it only took about 15 minutes and I have store close by, so no biggie.

Reviewed the log file and there are some unhandled exceptions in Google Voice code. Any one else with this problem? Is there a way to reinstall an older version of Google Voice app?

I am in Canada and the phone is unlocked (I am using it with Wind mobile) and am wondering if there is an official update to different version of android (I had the magic before and it was all just done for me). Also does anyone know if the phone will relock, all the manuals are not in English so I am not sure the original carrier of the device. (The Samsung website only seems to list the L version of this phone).

I applied RyanZA's One Click Lag Fix a while ago which worked fine and more recently tried updating the registry hack a couple of weeks ago.
Currently the latest Kies xxxx100 says:

I never managed to complete the hack despite adjusting th PC's registry initially to the Scandi version.

A friend of mine rooted my samsung mobile Galaxy S I9000 with a android 2.2 version. I read information on rooting your device, in which everything is explained very well, but could not find information on how to update once a device was rooted (probably I did not search in the right place). What I did so far is:
1) Taking backup of my pics (by manually drag and drop the folder on my pc), SMS and call logs (with sms backup + app), syncronized my contacts with gmail so that I can recover them later on and backup the music folder. I installed backup Titanium to back up my apps on my SD card.
1) Which most recent version of Android is supported on the device I have?
2) Is there important information that I forgot to back up?
3) Is there a guide with step by step procedure on which files I have to download on my pc and which procedure to follow?
I'm updating my moment to 2.1. i got the download, followed all instructions... my phone is sitting here connected with the "update in progress" yet... nothing is happening. it's sitting there. completely still.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhy is the 2.1 update for the Moment so complex. I have a droid and convinced my mother to get the moment a few months ago when she was do for an upgrade. She was over last night and I went to update her phone for her. Verizon updates are easy. You put an update.zip file on your sd card, reboot into recover, apply update.zip, reboot and your done. No computer needed since with Astro you can copy paste the update.zip file to the proper location if you download it via your phone. Not so with the moment. You have to download a .exe file and leave the device connected to your computer? there is a multi page guide to read? what? And no over the air update at all? With verizon you only had to do the update manually if you were too impatient to wait for your hand set to get the update OTA. This is another example of why sprint is doing so poorly. This is terrible customer service. My computer has all of its usb ports broken, but i have my phone rooted and flash new roms all the time and the lack of usb ports is no problem but i couldn't even update my mothers phone to a long awaited update because of this.

When I connect the phone when its NOT in download mode the USB composite device is detected and works. Everything is okay.
When in download mode, it will NOT work. The device is detected but it gives me the (The device cannot start) Code 10.
I have tried hundreds of things, including formatting and reinstalling a XP version on my comp.
I have drivers, PC Studio, EVERYTHING is not working...
