Samsung Galaxy S :: Full Amount On Specs In RAM?

why is it we have 326 random access memorie ram and why cant find full amount on specs?
I WAS eyeing the iphone , but when I found out about Droid , I became very interested , much more than iphone. I completely believe in anything os. I can not buy or commit to anything without a bunch of reviews and , of course full specs. So when waited patiently for the countdown to end , I was hoping for an unveiling with meat. Now I've spent an hour and a half everywhere online, but nothing is really new. Has anyone seen an official spec sheet, final copy? I've seen the one that got posted by mistake last week on verizon , but has either motorola or verizon posted anything official? How about reviews, will they come after the 6th, or sooner?
View 46 Replies View RelatedI installed Galaxo 1.6.3.4 a couple of days ago and since I'm a happy person! It's really a different phone.
Today when reading an article on the new google maps innovation (Walking Navigation, Street View), which are available with Google Maps 4.5, I tried finding them on the market and couldn't. I then realized I can't see any paid apps on the market after my Galaxo installation.
(I also noticed that the Google maps version with galaxo is 3.3)
So I've got two questions:
1) How can I "free" my market?
2) How can I install Google Maps 4.5 with the two gadgets above?
I am new to the android phone and have a Galaxy. For some reason my live wallpaper has reduced from the full size to a fraction on my screen. Does anyone know how I can take it back to the full size please?
View 2 Replies View RelatedNew forums user here. Had my i9000 for about 2 weeks now and still trying to work out a few very small things to make my phones exactly the way I want it. One thing that has escaped me thus far despite all my googling and digging through menus and options in the phone is a way to display the full titles of programs. Ie: I'm running Opera Mini and the icon in the applications menu and on my home screen says "Opera Min" and then the text fades off. I would like it to just say "Opera Mini." Eight characters(ish) for a filename is so Windows 3.1, I would think there would be a way to have the full name displayed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have this strange memory problem on my Samsung Galaxy SII Last week I flashed CheckRom RevoHD on my cellphone and everything went well (Titanium Backup etc...)
This morning I downloaded and installed Omega Files (Omega Series ROM kitchen) on my cellphone after a few hours it switched off. And then it took like 10 minutes to switch back on as the screen was stuck on the splash screen.
I had like 500-600Mo of free memory out of 2Go for apps and now I only have 20Mo...
Is there any file manager (that sorts folders by size) out there so I can do so cleaning ?

Post from XDA...Can someone that has the phone confirm this?Couple of interesting specs - xda-developers. AT&T has posted a new spec sheet on the Captivate here.Couple of things stood out in contrast to information (speculation?) that has been posted on this forum and elsewhere, so wanted to mention them and see if any of the early purchasers can check and confirm.
Memory
Flash (device) Memory16 GB flash memory
Expandable MemorySupports MicroSD cards with up to 16GB of memory
I point these out since some people have assumed that the base specs of the SGS were carried over to the Captivate (e.g., 802.11n, FLAC support, max 32GB MicroSD cards supported). Has anyone checked these on their phones yet?
I own the i9000 about a week nowI noticed that the wifi reception is very bad compared with my iPhone 3GS(even in my house i have one bar;and i have to stick the phone to the router D-LINK to have full bars)I want to know is it "normal" is it an individual problem or all the devices had the same issue ?Is it related to hardware or software bug ?Can this problem be solved with Froyo ?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have seen this link on other websites and a few people have been claiming a few things listed on it. I just want to get facts straight and correct the preliminary specifications.
For the Moment, it says it has a 360x640 resolution which is wrong. Everything I have read, including Samsung's website shows 320x480.
It says it has an FM radio and I have seen nothing or the sort anywhere. That would be nice if it did, but can't find anything to confirm this.
It says it has a Stereo loudspeaker. I can't find any specifications for this. Can anyone confirm or reject this claim?
is this the right code *2767*3855# to reset phone to factory specs?
View 8 Replies View RelatedDoesn't the vibrant have 512M of RAM? Where is all of it going? I am using the ATK (advanced task killer) to keep background tasks at a minimum, but I only see around 100M of available memory. Is this good? It doesn't seem like a lot. Can others post them amount of available memory they have remaining?

View 14 Replies View RelatedMaybe a rookie question, but here goes.I've seen a lot of posts about where to find an app/widget that allows you to switch between 3G and 2G. My question is: why would I want to do this? Does switching to 2G lessen the amount of data usage (which could be important, considering I'm on AT&T's 200 MB plan)? Or is there some other benefit/reason for doing this?Related: I have the SwitchPro widget, which has a 3G-2G switch available -- does this mean I am able to switch if I want to?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been having a major problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. The internal memory of the phone should be 11.25GB (even though it should be 16, but I know how these stuff actually work), Surly I have an extra external SD card, but that's not the problem. The internal memory keeps being filled with nothing.here is a picture to demonstrate the situation:
As you can see the total space is 11.25 GB and if you count the applications, pictures, videos and miscellaneous files, they constitute no more than 2GB, which means that there should be no less than 9 GB left as available in the phone's internal memory, but as you can see I have got 5.84 GB available. How did that happen?
I have rebooted the system yesterday when the internal memory was completely full (even though I have only 2GB filled). And I have a feeling that by tomorrow I will get the memory completely full without downloading or adding anything on the phone.
And don't tell me I should clean cache or whatever that thing is, because I have already done that, and it's not working.
I have a simple app that is mostly native-code OpenGL with about a page of Java to interface to it. On my new Galaxy Tab, it creates a window that is about 480x800 pixels, while on other devices (including an AC100 with a larger screen) it fills the whole screen.
Searching the web, it seems that this affects many existing apps when they are run on this device, and there is plenty of end-user advice about how to make apps fill the screen. But I've failed to find any advice about how I should do it from within the app.
My current Java code is not much more than this:
CODE:.................................
I just installed a custom bootanimation.zip on my phone and it looked like all was well for a moment until the screen went blank 1/3 or so through the animation. The beginning worked properly and the animation began to play, my old startup sound then play(I never changed that) but then the screen went black several seconds after the start sound played.

There are now two dust specs on the left side of the screen; one on top, and one on the bottom. Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do about this? It seems silly to return the phone and get a new one for something so simple, but if it becomes a large problem, it will not be something I am willing to live with.
View 7 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if Sprint/BB/RS will get advanced demo units to play with before the 4th? I would love to get my hands on one, the size scares me a bit, I don't want the phone taking up my entire hand when I am talking on it. Plus if I am gonna drop a couple Ben Franklins on something I always like to play with it ahead of time. Plus with this being my first Android experience I would like to make sure I don't mind the interface If not how similar is the incredible, could that give me a good approximation of the EVO size and specs?
View 2 Replies View Related1. What size should graphics intended to promote your app in the Market be designed for?
2. What about the larger graphics that depict screenshots of the app in the Market?
3. What size should app icons for devices be?
EVO doubles Hero's processor, internal memory and RAM. I'm wondering how exactly that will translate into daily usage. Mayhaps I should post on the Nexus board since that runs a snapdragon but I'm sure there are people here who have handled both.I'm going to use a few apps I use as an example: Astro File Manager: running the app manager can take 20-30 seconds to fully 'load the packages' to backup/install/uninstall/etc.More Icons Widget: populating the apps list takes 20-30 seconds. aTrackDog: populating the apps list can take 45-60 seconds.

View 6 Replies View RelatedFrom the Motorola site:
POWER up to 360 min / 6 hrs
USAGE TIME (CONTINUOUS)2
BATTERY TYPE
1420 mAh lithium polymer
STANDBY TIME2
up to 325 hrs / 13.5 days
I did away with all the motoblur stuff but I've been having problems with my battery life still.... I've been running a bunch of apps, IMing, emails, wifi etc.... and it's been lasting about 6 hours.
Today I cut everything back using "advanced task manager free" and after about 6 or 7 hours I still only had like 40% left...... no where near anything like the specs.
Six hours continuous talk time? 325 hours standby? Certainly not the way it comes out of the box! Who are they trying to kid? Is anyone getting anything near this? Is there even any way to get close to that? WTF? Does anyone find these specifications deceptive?
My battery might not be the best but it seems to be at least average from what I hear. Please tell me what setting I need to get this kid of battery life!
Some people here have said deep cycling the battery helps but that's supposed to be bad for lipo batteries
Some people also say you need to charge the battery fully before first use or you can ruin it but no other sites mention that.
I want to be able to use gps and apps and wifi and email and IM during the day w/o being tied to a charger all day. I was a dedicated sidekick user but now love the cliq.... except for the battery life.
I thought of getting a spare battery but don't want to lug an extra battery around...... I've seen apps (APNdroid) that shut off the data to conserve battery life but I want to use the features of the phone... that's why I have it....... what's the answer?
Btw: "battery graph" and "spare parts" are great apps to monitor battery usage.
Also, in some places it says the bp6x battery is rated at 1300 mAh and in other is says 1420 mAh but it's the same battery! What's up with that?
Question: What kind of battery life do you experience with "normal" usage? Does anyone know what settings to use to approximate the times noted in the Cliq specifications?
I've looked at the tech specs of the Nexus One at the google store -Nexus One Phone - Feature overview & Technical specifications
I'm not that geeked up so, I'm wondering if it looks like the Nexus has anything on the Droid?
The 4 gb micro sd seemed pretty underwhelming to me. I know it's expandable to 32 but still...
Crap, looking at my x this morning in direct sunlight i can see 3 specs of dust under the screen! what should i do? Anyone else here with the same problem? I didn't see that yesterday when i got the phone. The dust is not visible when you turn the screen on but just knowing is there is bugging me.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got my hands on this phone.
Here's my summary:
1) It's really fast. Runs all my games at max framerates.
2) The screen is 16:9 and will probably mess with your layouts and games and stuff.
3) It has a PowerVR SGX530. That's right around iPhone 3GS's GPU speed.
I believe the hardware supports OpenGL ES 2.0 but since Android doesn't, there's no way to use it right now. I did, however, dump all of the GL extensions and put them alongside the G1 and Emulator extension lists into this handy-dandy article - http://www.rbgrn.net/content/345-hands-on-motorola-droid-opengl-es-specs
I tried out this app: Fpt System Manager v1.1 Application for Android | Tools
And in the RAM area it currently shows me as having 83MB of RAM available out of 192.5MB of RAM. Obviously because of running apps.
What I'd like to know is how much _total_ RAM is _actually_ in my phone. The model I have is supposed to have 288MB of RAM (Rogers HTC Magic).
Is there an app, or is there some other way, to determine the actual specs of your phone, ie. actual total RAM installed?
When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted. How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number? In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown. When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.
