As I want to update to Froyo i know i have to remove OCLF - however I can't find the "unlagfixme.bat" file anywhere? OCLF app offers me "undoOCLF v1+" and I am on v2.2.8... or am I? I have downloaded the updates... do they apply automatically?

do i do i choose temporarily root or the permanant root in z4root? Then when using ryanza oclf do i go through in the same order as i did with 2.1, ie ext2 first then root device. OCLF refers to 2.1, i presume that is oclf version and not relating to sgs2.1? Sorry for the constant posting guys, i dont understand what im doing and just want to make sure i dont screw things up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed OCLF V2+ and all is great. However, one day I turned on the phone and I think it's physically broken. The symptoms are:
- Only half screen image
- Other half screen has strange stripes
- The phone doesn't go past the spash screen
- It will boot in recovery and download mode. Here there's still only half a screen
So what I want to do is undo the lag fix, remove ext2 tools and unroot the phone before I go back to the store. Can anybody help me with this?
I CAN start in recovery mode and use adb shell to go to the phone shell! So I suppose I have to do the above steps from the shell!
After a little advice to avoid a second semi-bricking. i ran z4root and set temporary root on my froyo galaxy s. then i installed oclf tools. phone absolutely hated it! rebooted and got stuck at S logo, then went black and vibrated intermittently. i died inside a little. eventually fixed by booting using 301K resistor trick, and reloaded eclair then froyo using odin. anyway i still want the lag fix! i guess where i went wrong here is that i used a temporary root. if i use the 'permanent' root on z4root (which is undoable anyway i understand) recon i'll be ok?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm probably in the same situation as many SGS owners, i.e. installed the one click LAG fix to overcome the issues with 2.1. As 2.2 is due out (in the UK) probably sometime in the next few weeks, can someone more technical advise if the LAG fix should be removed and the phone unrooted before the official upgrade. Additionally, is there any benefit moving up to 2.2 other than Flash? I haven't had any real issues with the phone other than the initial LAG. I'm on Orange UK, but I don't suppose that really matters?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to Android and have the following problem: When I get a sms I get a notification in the upper bar. I scroll down the bar and access the sms by clicking on it. Now I can read the incoming sms in the bubble but the notification does not go away. I have to click on the bubble to get the complete sms (even if its only a short text) so the notification goes away.
I think this is really stupid that I have to actually click on the bubble (even if I already can read the whole text) so the notification goes away.
In other words: I want it to act the same way as the iPhone. Is there any way?
It seems as if I am unable to remove my external sd card from my Galaxy S. After uninstalling it under "Settings" i try to pull it out/push it in so that it snaps out but it cannot be moved out of the cartridge. I can only push it further in for 1 mm or so.
Is there anything I am not seeing or has anybody else had the same problem?

I'm trying to remove some softkeys from a ROM for the Galaxy Note. The Galaxy Note has a hw home button and capacitive back and menu buttons. The thing is, I like tablet ROMs because they use the screen better, but all of them come with Home, Menu and Recent Apps soft buttons added. On TW modded roms you can also find a multiwindow button to launch apps in multiwindow mod (looks like a "^"). So I just want to keep this button (maybe Recent apps too, I'll decide it later). I know how to decompile apks and edit xml's. What I want to know is which apks I need to edit and which xmls in said apps I need to edit/remove entries. I already tried to edit SystemUI.apk and tw_systembar.xml (deleted the entries for Home and Back), but UI crashed on startup and never come up again.

Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
My galaxy s3 screen has broken. It didn't shatter but it does not light up or respond to touch. I know it is on because the light in the upper corner that blinks for notifications works and the soft keys light up when the power/lock button and volume button are pushed. I can not see or save what I have on my phone through Kies because I cannot unlock it. Is there was any other way to unlock a phone like through a website or program without using the touchscreen?

remove a voicemail notification on my Galaxy Nexus with stock ICS, unrooted.
Here's the catch: the voicemail message has a registered phone number (the carrier's voicemail number). However, the carrier changed this number, so if I try to access the voicemail through the notification, the number doesn't exist anymore. Accessing the new number does not remove the notification.
Is there a way to change this?
Already tried clearing phone app data with no luck.
I really like the samsung wave phone design, very stylish and slick! but i dont like the bada os on the other hand i like galaxy s os but i dont like its phone design, so iphone like.
