I'm new to the android scene and the samsung galaxy s is my 1st android based phone.I recently got Mystique chapter one... but my character in the game cant move forward due to the lack of a joypad.Is there a way to remedy this or it is absolutely not compatible wd the Samsung Galaxy S?

I was unable to find much information regarding compatibility of the Samsung Galaxy with MAC computers. On behalf of the small number of MAC users in this forum, I made a call to Samsung tech support re: how to do the Frodo update with a MAC computer. I was told that the Galaxy phone is PC based and, at present, Samsung does not have a plan to port Kies to OS X. In order to install the Frodo update when it is available, if we don't have an application such as Parallels or Virtual PC, we will have to borrow a PC to do the job.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know if and when Samsung will be releasing drivers for their PC software that are compatible with a 64 bit OS (Vista or Win7)? I currently own a Samsung Tocco which I have been unable to connect to my PC since I bought a new computer in December, and the phone has become a virtual white elephant other than for making calls and sending texts etc. I have looked at the Galaxy S which looks like a great phone. However I did a search on Google and discovered that Samsung's Kies software still has no support for any 64 bit OS, and this is now 12 months since Win7 was first released to developers. As far as I'm concerned this is Samsung's loss and HTC's gain, as I will go for the Desire unless Samsung can get their act together.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy phone was advertised on ebay as being simlocked to T mobile. However I quickly discovered it wasn't when my Orange Sim worked in it and no T mobile apps or logos appeared on my phone. I already have a Samsung Glaxaxy from Orange so instantly knew that my new phone from ebay was not up to date.As you can see one of my phones is running the latest firmware but the other one isn't AND also says it cannot be updated. What is going on? Has the seller messed with my phone or something?I am not interested in getting Froyo on either of my phones. I will get that when it is officially released. All I want is the ebay phone to be able to be updated. I have tried everything suggested on this forum including changing the product code. I tried to change it on the phone, no product codes were listed as a choice, I also changed the registry but nothing works. Have I got a dud phone because surely my T Mobile phone (which somehow allows an orange sim to work) can get JM3 update by now?

Comments made were as followed:-
UPDATE: The Galaxy S won�t be able to update to Android 2.2 and above. It will remain on Android 2.1.
UPDATE 2: Samsung will update the Galaxy S to 2.2 from their manufacturing facility. No word on the timing but those new devices will run on Android 2.2. They are still working on how to upgrade current units that are running on Android 2.1.

]I got a samsung galaxy s on contract with t mobile in the uk. When I go on kies I see that there is a firmware update available but it says that its not available for my handset.
Now my baseband number is I9000boJF1 and my firmware version is 2.r update. I heard some post say recently that 2.2 update is only available for payg handsets and not contract handsets is that true? If the froyo update is still out there for t mobile then i will wait but if it is not coming at all then can someone post me how i can use the odin method to upgrade. Note my baseband version, last time I used odin with wrong files and it messed my galaxy s.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently got my Samsung Captivate and it works pretty well (even the GPS) however, when I try to update is (manually) it takes forever trying to connect to the server and in the end it never does (and thus I cannot connect for another twenty-four hours).So I said ok, i'll use Kies to update the phone, so I download Kies and try - however, the when I connect Kies says "The Device is not supported by Kies" and as such I cannot interact with my phone in this manner.

However, is says that 'this device's version cannot be updated'
My SGS was bought from Mobiles.co.uk and is using an Orange SIM and as far as I can tell it is not locked or branded.
The current firmware is

CSC ...XAJF3
Is this an 'Orange' CSC?
How I can get it updated?
Not sure if I'm a bit behind with this one, but my Kies just offered an update to version 1.51.10074_45. Took at least half an hour to download (on 50Mb broadband!).
View 10 Replies View RelatedHaving just purchased my first smart phone last week (Galaxy S) I am having a complete nightmare updating to FROYO with Kies.I know this has been done to death on this and various other forums but is there any possible way to upgrade the firmware without Kies as ive been trying for 3 nights now but absolutely nothing works to get my phone to connect to Kies.I have tried every tip and suggestion from this and other forums and all result in my phone telling me its connected but Kies on my PC just spinning away saying trying to connect.I can connect to my PC in Mass storage mode and transfer files no problem but Kies is just a complete nightmare.Over the short period of time ive had the phone I think its a fantastic piece of kit and am still learning about all that it can do but am getting seriously frustrated by not being able to do what should be a simple task!

I mean I have a Galaxy S3 red (mine) which I updated via kies and I don't know why I can't update this one. Anyways, the Galaxy which I'm trying to update is on Android 4.0.4 ICS When I connect the phone to the pc underneath where it says firmware information it's written: PDA:LE4 / PHONE:LE4 / CSC:LE4 (ORA) but yet no update button. I'm trying to update the phone to the latest version *i've reinstalled kies several times! How to resolve this or even better how to update the S3?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo yeah, basically my Kies crashed while it was updating firmware and now I can't connect my phone to my PC anymore, it just doesn't recognize it. Windows just says something about corrupted device but kies can't recognize it either. And here's the really great stuff. I can't even boot the damn device! It just gives me thing weird logo that has mobile phone and my computer on it, and then some yellow triangle with exclamation mark in between and it doesn't go away. I've tried every button combination and hard-boot with removing the battery but no luck. I'm really really frustrated because I can't use this thing at all now! What a great update software you got there Samsung, really great (endrant). So can anyone give any pointers what I should do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just plugged into Kies and performed a Firmware update, which I assume was the Froyo update. It all ran it's course perfectly and the phone then went to reboot. Following this, it hung on the Galaxy S animated screen before simply going to a black screen (I know the phone is still on, because the two bottom corner buttons will light up if pressed).
I realise that this black screen is quite common, and that people suggest booting into recovery mode. The problem is, I've never been able to get my phone into recovery mode. I turn the phone on and hold down Power + Home + Voume Up for a couple of seconds and then let go... it does nothing, it just goes onto the Vodafone screen and then carries on booting.
I also tried holding down these buttons for a little longer, but all that it does is pushes the phone into a constant restart loop (as obviously I'm holding down the power button).
What's the newest firmware update for SGS? And what's the best of the 2.1 v.?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just updated to the new version through Kies. As soon as my phone booted and I exited lock screen, a lot of popups of processes that crashed show up. This includes android.process.acore, com.google.processes.gapps, Daily Briefing, calendar... pretty much everything shows up and I don't have access to anything on the phone. Apparently usb debug got back on so I can't get kies to recognize the phone.
I have a contract-free galaxy s from germany. Rooted. Uninstalled ryans lag fix through market before upgrading. I don't know what I did wrong. What can I do?
