- the antennae hump at the back. I don't like it, take it away. It doesn't lend itself to an ergonomical, comfortable grip, does it?
- the file system. As I gather, this is the reason we need lag fixes. I actually do wanna know though, what are the advantages of this file system?
- I hate saying this but: the looks. C'mon seriously? It looks too much like an iphone! Granted, the iphone is a good looking phone but if I didn't know better I would've thought this was a knock off.

Please help, I tried to change from the Galaxy rom to the new 1.6 Take 5 tweak since I was sick of having no vibration. And now after I flashed it, it went to the Samsung bootup screen and now is black and cant be powered on. However my computer still detects it, please can somebody help salvage my phone.

When connecting my Galaxy-S to the Samsung Kies software, my telephone shows up with an incorrect telephone number. I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted.How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number?In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown.When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

The voice call ring tones in my Galaxy plays in 'Ascending' style. I mean the first few seconds of my call ring tone, volume of the ring tone (only while ringing, not while playing normally) is not full. It starts with low volume and gradually increases to full volume.

I got tired of the orientation changing when I didn't want it to, such as if I'm in bed or placing it on the kitchen counter. I turned off auto-orienatation, now I want to know if there's a way to change the orientation manually. I would have thought there would be, but I can't find such a feature even after googling it.

The android contacts app seems to be made for non UK countrys as it does not have a region or postcode option in the address form it only has state and zipcode.

Figured I can merge the same person's google and facebook contact. I wonder how do I change which name gets displayed and which picture becomes the display picture? How do I make the facebook profile pic as the display picture? when I click edit the facebook contact does not appear cause I can't edit SNS contacts apparently

1. I have downloaded albums to the music app. Some are titled "Untitled" with the date. I know what the contents are - how can I change the album name?
2. I us aol mail and it is forwarded to gmail on the phone. Recently some email, addressed to my usual aol email address is sent to the phone's gmail but not to the aol email (so it is only on the phone as a gmail message and not to computer as an aol mail.

I've spent days searching this forum (and the whole web) for a solution to this, but haven't found anything yet. Starting to wonder if it's possible. I've changed my ringtones on my Galaxy S to different custom MP3's for various contact groups. No problem there. I've changed my 'notification' sound to a custom mp3 from the settings/sounds menu. No problem there. But there calendar still plays the standard sound (I think it's called 'on time' in the Samsung sounds list) and I can't find anywhere to change it. At first I thought the calendar would've used the notification sound, but it never changes... so then I thought maybe you change it from within the calendar itself.

I'm looking for a program to change timestamps files (created, modified, and accessed)
I need it for Android, no for PC.
Problem is that after copy&paste photos and videos, stock gallery order it by created by, and i don't know why, but all videos always are first, and then my photos.
If now i take a photo, and after a video, i see in my stock gallery: last video created, last photo taken, all the other videos, and then older photos

I have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.

I've just got my new Samsung Galaxy S I9000 phone which looks awesome. I had been using a Nokia N97 Mini which had behaved OK and I've been using Joikuspot as a WIFI tether which is important because of my need for the internet during the day. I was really please to find that the Galaxy has an inbuilt tether application in the Mobile AP however I cannot get it to work and wondered if any one else had any issues? The Mobile AP kicks in ok and I can find it on my laptop however when I try to connect it just tells me that it cannot connect and goes into trying to diagnose the problem. I tried to bypass this by inputting the wireless connection manually but when I do it tells me the security option is wrong but does this for every option in the list.

I have added my work exchange email account to my Samsung Galaxy S. It starts to downloads email, contacts and calender entries but then starts to freeze or pop-up screens appears saying that there is no contact with TwLauncher - it doesn't matter if I choose "wait" or "force close". Even if I delete the exchange account the phone keeps freezing and I have to do a phone reset (with all the setting up and downloading of apps to follow). I have tried to set up the account on a clean phone with NO other apps installed same problem. What do I do? Our server is Exchange 2003. It works fine with my colleagues Nokia and HTC phones.

May I know how to delete or replace the 4 default icons (Dialer, Contacts, Messaging, and Applications) on the Galaxy S main screen? The reason for me doing this is because I wanted to use the Handcent SMS app instead of the default Android SMS app as I am getting used to the Handcent one.
