When we add/edit contacts in gmail contact manager, it will then be synced back to the phone. Question is, when we do the opposite, will it be synced back to gmail contacts?

I just got my first android phone, a samsung galaxy s4 and love it. I have been able to set it up as I want for the most part. One thing I cant figure out though, how do you set google account sync to only sync over wifi? I know you can go into the data section and choose which apps can update over wifi, but I don't see one for google account sync. Is it called google services or something? In the google plus I was able to set it to update photos and videos over wifi, but what about the calendar, app data, drive etc.?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
I know that the next kitkat update makes galaxy s4 users from Verizon use Google hangouts. So in preparation of this coming, is there anyway to sync hangouts with Facebook contacts? My biggest issue is that I want the Facebook pictures of the person I am talking to to show up in hangouts similar to how it does/did in the text messaging app.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed that audio and video aren't in sync? Or is it just my phone?! Literally, in every video i play audio is a fraction of a second out of sync when compared to video. Tried with 720p, brrips 720p, dvdrips, and even ordinary hdtvrips, and it happens in every single one of them. Also happens when playing some games, or even when i'm playing 720p video that i recorded minutes ago. I'm currently using Doc's XWJPA, and previously have been using stock XWJPA. Same thing happened on both.
Has anybody else experienced something like that, and how to fix it?
No auto sync contacts on galaxy s? Samsung seem to have left out this feature, madness I tell you. or is it just me being stupid I did a quick google search and this appears to be the case .

i switched from iphone to the galaxy s recently. my contacts used to be saved in my sim card that i transferred over to the new phone. However, i am not able to find an option to sync these existing contacts with my gmail. anyone can tell me how to do that please? Any new contacts that i create in galaxy s can be synced with gmail. i just can't sync the existing ones.

I just synchronized my new phone with my local Outlook-calendar (no Exchange) by using Samsung Kies. My PC OS is Windows 7.
I don't know, if this is a specific problem to Kies or a general Android-issue: All the past calendar entries (for a couple of years) have been synchronized too. I think, this is not really necessary.
And secondly, my mobile-calendar showed an automaticly generated entry every Monday with the information of the week-number until December 2011.
Removed facebook app and facebook account from Settings-Account and Syng...rebooted phone.
- Enabled Wifi
- Went to Settings-Account and Sync.
- Added facebook account again with SNS settings (syns interval) set to once a day.
- Made sure I saw the two arrows in the white cirkel spinning around indicating sync.
- Held my finger down to the home screen for 2 seconds to add a Android widget - Power control.
- Enabled Sync (the two arrows in the white cirkel spinning around indicating sync)
- Went to Contacts.
- Pressed Menu - Get Friends
- Next screen showed me my facebook account- Pressed it
- NOW I saw ALL my facebook contacts on my screen!
- Clicked CHOOSE ALL and then syn/save
- Checked in Contacts - Menu - Display Options,. that my Facebook account was checkmarked!
I am trying to find a way to sync iTunes with a Samsung Galaxy S4. My desktop currently run Ubuntu 12.04, but I do not want to use the desktop for syncing if possible.

I have tons of contacts in many different groups on my account.If I select the gmail account on my galaxy it does not recognize the groups and it throws all my contacts into one group with the name of my gmail account.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to Settings -> Accounts & Sync -> Facebook, it required me to log in. I enter THE CORRECT information, and yet it pop up with a little error saying "Login failed. try again"
I'v tried this over 100 times I swear..I have tried turning Wifi on and off, Sync on and off, removed Facebook app, rebooting the phone, changing the password of my Facebook account and signing in on a desktop PC and deleting "Samsung Mobile" from Application Settings.. Unfortunatly no avail. I even tried setting up sync with brothers account. Same problem.
A question for owners of this phone. Does the phone show the Global Address List in Exchange? Can I sync my contacts from Outlook and calendar?

View 11 Replies View RelatedOur organisation just changed from ADSL to Fibre Optic cable, and as a result we all had reconnect our devices to the exchange server. As a result, not all my outlook contacts come down from the MS exchange server. I can see them in 'Contacts' in Outlook on my Mac, I can see them in 'Contacts' in the remote desktop, but they are not visible on my phone.
Emails sync down fine, as well as 95% of my contacts.
The main problem I am having is syncing with Google Calendar. It shows it hasn't synced since August 20th. It is checked to sync and shows the sync (circle with arrows) symbol but it never syncs. In contrast, my GMAIL is having no problems syncing...only the calendar. My wife and I share our gmail account to keep calendar's in sync and it happens on her phone too.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe past few days, my phone has had 3 or 4 times where it has said that it couldn't sync, and it would show one of those Captcha things and make my type in the letters.It was just a minor annoyance at first, but it keeps happening.Then, just now I was in my gmail account on my PC and I noticed that all of my contacts had gotten duplicated, but with a slash at the end of their last names.I don't know if this is related to the above issue or not.Anyone else seen anything like this?
