I have been looking around for an extended battery for my GalaxyS. No luck in finding one. I just get the same answer every time I ask. (just buy a standard battery so you have 2 all together) Well Im around water a lot and I rather just have one battery. Any ideas?

Does anyone know if there is going to be or if there usually is an extended battery that will eventually be offered for this phone? And if so, you think they will be able to keep it slim or am I going to have a giant brick in my pocket if I use an extended battery?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot take credit for this as it's mentioned in multiple threads here, I would just like to bring it to the attention of anyone that doesn't already know.Disabling APN when not required has allowed my phone to run for 3 days and still be at 70% battery.To disable APN I installed the app WiSyncPlus from the app store.This app can be used for controlling network/data access on your phone in multiple ways, but all I use is the very simple APN toggle widget.I only toggle APN on when I require data access for web/email/market etc. then switch it straight back off. When APN is off you can still use the handset as an old school phone, for calls and texting, but not mms.There are multiple options in this app for controlling syncing etc. very much worth a look if you use your phone for email too.I also have my Samsung switchers widget app next to the APN widget, so if I have a wifi connection available I use this instead of enabling APN to surf the web etc.There is also a free app called APNDroid that can disable APN but I haven't tried this so can't comment on it's usability.

I have close contact with one of their employees, and she is willing to try to make it happen if enough people wants it.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Samsung Galaxy S phone from a local AT&T store in the US. I took the phone home the first day and spent a few hours scrolling thru the menus and getting familiar with the phone. I did a software update on the phone it has ver 2.1. I also went to a few websites to test the browser. I made about 3 calls and talked for about an hour. I had the phone turned on the entire time, I was not in standby mode.
After about 2 hours - the back of the phone where the battery is, started getting hot.
It didn't burn my hand but it was like holding a very hot cup of coffee in your hand. Very uncomfortable. Has anyone else had this problem with a battery getting hot?
Why is the battery overheating? I'm afraid to use the phone now, it might burn up something in the phone or ruin a memory card or something else.
What's causing the battery top get really hot? How do you fix this problem?
Anyone who owns a SGS have any battery life reports?

1/ How long does the battery charge last between charges?
2/ What is your approximate phone usage profile during a day?
(Eg. 2hrs of browsing over wifi, 1 hour of browsing over 3G, 1 hour of video playback, 2 hours of audio playback/streaming while browsing etc.)
3/ Other useful information (Eg. signal conditions - poor 2G/3G coverage around my office)
Running a Bell Galaxy-S with 2.1 and the OCLF. Recently when I lock my phone or it just goes to sleep (screen shuts off) I can't unlock it. The screen just stays blank and it requires me to pull the battery and replace to boot it back up. There doesn't appear to be any consistency with this error and I haven't installed any new apps in recent time that would have changed the phone around.

This is kinda annoying but cannot seem to find a way of turning it off. I know you are gonna suggest tuning the sound off but thats not what i want to do. What I mean by battery cover is the piece of plastic you remove to get to the battery and sim card, maybe also called the backplate. Because all the accessories I see on eBay are just covers for the cover itself. In video reviews, the vibrant has two battery covers that are different. I was thinking of something along those lines so I can swap up battery covers if I get bored of one.

Using Tasker extends this even further, but even without a tasker profile today, I unplugged at 8am and at 4pm I was at 80 percent with moderate usage. I have, however, had the Incredible since launch day. I love pretty much everything about this phone, except the battery life. I really cannot stand the constant need to be near a charger for fear of my phone dying. Should I buy the Verizon extended battery for another $60 and deal w the clunky bulk or get the Droid X or Samsung Fascinate. I think i can get a good price for this phone on eBay w it being an original in mint condition and there still a shortage. What should I do? Is it too early to go for the Samsung?
