I recently got the SGS and I'm loving it, except the supplied headset which is not very good IMO. So i'm looking for an alternate headset with microphone to replace but for some weird reason all the ones I've tried work perfectly for media playback but not for phonecalls, voice just doesn't get routed to the headset unless it's the supplied one. Has anyone found a third-party headset that works?

Unplugged headset bug was pissing me off so much that I decided to work with it.
Galaxo 1.6.3.x is really great and kicks ass.
If music app annoys you after unplugging headset just delete it.
Delete from system/app two files:
Music.apk
Music.odex
No need to restart, unplug your headphones and enjoy quiet.
Instead of crappy music.apk use Meridian from market
Not sure if this is a GS issue or a Navigon issue...I am trying to use Navigon with a headset. But when there is audio guidance, the audio comes on both the speaker and the headset. I would expect the audio to be heard only from the headset.

no headset plugged in just act as normal. Hopefully I am just missing something obvious as I can see the option to enable auto answer but this seems to be regardless of weather or not there is a headset plugged in. If this is not possible is there a a way to shortcut the enable and disabling of auto answer rather than having to go through all the menus?

If I do the same thing with a laptop and go to another WiFi spot provided by a different ISP my email will receive but not send- unless I change the outgoing server to that WiFi provider's. I would have presumed that over 3G that I'd have the same issue - as the phone companies outgoing sever is handling my email? Or am I missing something.

I decided today to look into lock screen replacements. I'd tried FlyScreen before, and felt it was way overkill. I just wanted something interesting where a third of my screen didn't just say "Sprint." I downloaded Lock 2.0 demo, which was sort of cool. But then I got a text message, which caused Handcent to do it's little pop up over the locked screen. Normally all good, but with the different lock screen, when I rotated the phone and slid out the keyboard, the screen did not re-orient itself. Is this an issue with Handcent? With Lock 2.0? Does it happen with any lock screen replacement?

View 29 Replies View Relatedrecently I have received a Galaxy Nexus from A sibling because it had a defective charge port. I had replaced it (which included a new mic). I noticed my mic didn't work with phone calls (I understand that people were experiencing a muted effect, I cannot even hear a muffled sound. just fuzzy background recording) as well as with certain apps like snapchat. however with certain apps and features such as Smart Voice Recorder, and Text-to-speech feature, it functioned perfectly with clear recording. I have plugged in a external mic, as well as a two individual headsets with mic feature, and the same problem persist. I have even gone as far as to download the Soundabout app which allows me to decide what my primary recording device is, and still no resolve.

Went for a jog this morning and had earphones plugged in, when I finished jogging I removed the earphones and the phone still says they are plugged in. No rain or moisture involved. I have pulled the battery and restarted with no improvement. Any ideas or suggestions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to print from my stock device, I noticed that it was only willing to print to a Samsung printer. As the title suggests, the only printer available to me is an HP printer. And, as you may have guessed, the printer has ePrint.
I know HP has an ePrint app and Google has Cloud Print, which can both be used to print to the printer, but I don't want to have to go open an app every time I want to print something. I should be able to print something right from the app I'm using.
My aunt gave me a Samsung Galaxy S2 and everything was fine, except that it didn't let me register to the network. The next day it told me that it had to do an update so I did the update. After the update the home screen turned black and pressing the buttons didn't do anything. After a while an error pops up saying "application is not responding" and then the screen just stays black. The top bar works just fine and I can even go on the internet, play games, practically do everything. I did a factory reset by pressing Volume up + Home + Power 3 times already, but the only thing that changed is that the language turned into German.. the screen stays black. It had nothing to do with Rooting or Flashing, because I don't even know what that is.

I have been using this headset with my Blackberry 8900 with no problems. Is this a software problem? May be when we get upgraded to 2.0 or 2.1 this will be fixed? or should I try something else? anyone know what works best with this phone?

I did change the sim-card (and subsequent number) since first using it, but I never logged intio Kies with the old sim-card.The phone is rooted.How do I get Kies (or my Samsung phone) to show my current telephone number?In the phone properties (Menu, Settings, About, Status) the same wrong number is shown.When calling, the receiver sees the correct telephone number. So the issue is not operator related but telephone related.

If I put the phone up to my ear when on the headset it will because of the proximity sensor but that defeats the purpose of the bluetooth headset.

I was on the phone with my GF today, talking on my bluetooth headset and I was trying to browse the web while we were talking. My connection (WiFi) was being very flaky, extremely slow, or just plain unable to load anything. Turned wifi off and when I tried to turn it back on, it refused to connect to my network.
When I got off the phone with her, I tried to connect to WiFi again and it worked perfectly fine, full speed. Made a phone call to test it out, same result, WiFi extremely slow or not working at all. At that point I thought there was something wrong with the phone being unable to make a phone call and use WiFi at the same time. Then I decided to try disconnecting my BT headset and it worked perfectly. Right now I'm streaming a video off youtube with a phone call connected, but the second I turn my BT headset on the connection dies.
