What will happen if I try to freeze TouchWiz using Titanium Backup?
I want to do it to save resources, but I feel like its going to really do something bad...not sure if anyone else has tried?

I have the licensed version installed. I see no option to freeze an app, just Delete or Uninstall.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI saw this on another thread. Figured it would belong here well. Anyway, If you don't like the TouchWiz that Samsung has put on, you can follow this to disable it. This is tentative until someone can try it on a Fascinate for sure, but it should work. I have the system dump and the TouchWiz30Launcher.apk is a regular app under /system/app/. I may not be labelled as TWLauncher as on the video, but something similar to it. I will update as soon as I receive mine and more people doing it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI originally rooted so I could remove the verizon bloat / crap. Then I realized I couldn't get OTA updates (and I'm not the type that wants to keep manually updating the ROM on my phone). So I did the "back to stock" flash that unroots the phone and grabbed the OTA update. Since then I've been using Launcher Pro just to hide the programs I don't like. Now, somewhere in this process, the touchwiz homescreen got killed. If I kill Launcher Pro, all I'm left with is a black screen with nothing on it. No TwLauncher dock, nothing. When the phone boots up initially, I'll have that black screen, then launcher pro and my wallpaper will appear over it as well. Any ideas how this happened? And could this hurt the operation of my phone?

I am leaning toward the fascinate but want to know how to get google search on touchwiz because i don't want to switch launchers. I don't like adw or launcher pro. If I have to switch launchers to get google, I'll just get the X.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen i click on batch, then run to backup my apps it jumps back to the Backup/Restore screen with all the apps, nothing gets backed up. I have backed up before with Titanium and it worked. I reinstalled Busybox, didn't help. If i uninstall and reinstall will i lose all the things i did like freeze apps etc ? When i try to update through the marketplace it says installation error, package file was not signed correctly.

Other end kept ringing. No response anywhere on the phone. Soft keys would not respond--Nothing. Had to press power key and power off, then reboot.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a SF about a week ago, and am loving it! I rooted within 30 mins of leaving the store, and wanted to downclock the phone when the screen is off. I've been reading a bit, and apparently the Fascinate downclocks automatically to 100MHz by itself? Can anyone confirm this for me please? I tried setting the screen off profile on SetCPU to 200MHz, but noticed my phone freezing up in standby mode. Nothing would wake it up, except a battery pull. I tried bumping up the speed to 400MHz, same effect. I noticed the problem became worse and worse since I've installed it. I had to stop using SetCPU. The problem went away after I stopped using it. I was using SetCPU 2.00 I believe.Also, another question. Is there anyway to set custom ringtones for individual contacts? I don't see the option anywhere.

I tried to restore apps anyway and I got "your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from andriod".

I kill it with taskiller, and try again, but no luck yet. I've left it for a good 20 minutes to see if its still working and not seeing it, but no luck yet.

I successfully installed the Epic Experience v1.1.10 ROM. Everything seems to have installed properly.
All seems to be well, so I went to install Titanium Backup to restore all of my apps from my stock Epic. The installation went fine. I try to run the app for the first time, and I get the following error: "Sorry, I could not acquire root privileges. This application will *not* work! Please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes BusyBox, and try again".
So I know that my root included BusyBox, because I was able to install and run it on the stock ROM. But just for kicks, I clicked "Problems?" and downloaded the version it says will work. No difference.
I have rebooted the phone several times. Makes no difference.
I have deleted and re-installed Titanium Backup. Makes no difference.
I can't figure out how to back up all my apps and data with it?
I even downloaded the busy box like it said to do but still I can't seem to find a way to get to the actual backing up process. Is this compatible with My current root?
I have connectbot also, but forgot what to type in there to find out if I am rooted correctly. I do have livewallpapers.
I've got and paided for the full verison of TB. I want to freeze some of my apps and hide them. When I choose this it loads and says its freezing them but it just hangs their everytime, it will do it for like 20 minutes but nothing happens.

I only deleted 'ATT Family Maps' for now until I can figure out how to reinstall things, incase I have a problem later and need to go back to ATT. I clicked 'backup' before i deleted it. There is no such option....
When I run batch restore I get an "Install Blocked' message.
I get; For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android market.
What is happening here?
I'm running JH7 with the SRE 1.3-Bloat version.
I just rooted and installed titanium backup in order to remove the stock att apps. I keep getting a Force Close. I've tried rebooting the phone and reinstalling and that didn't help. Any ideas?

I know this may sound simple but am under the impression that when you make a backup of your ROM and other files on your device, it has to stay on the device.
When making a NANDROID backup, is it safer and more useful if one can store those backups on one's computer ?
Am sure there's a way to do this but am not sure if there's already an app for it.

I had all my contacts copied over to my new Fascinate and all my Gmail contacts info also got synched up. I just wanted the contacts with phone numbers to show up in my Contacts list and so selected the option that displays Contacts this way.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the root app Titanium Backup. When I root my friends' phones, I like giving them all my root apps with a quick transfer of my SD card app backups from AppControl.
BUT, I have never been able to find the backup file for Titanium Backup. I realize they can just download it from the Market, but where I work I get no service so I can't download it for hours for them.
Does AppControl or even Titanium Backup itself actually back up Titanium Backup? It seems almost like they skip over the APK because I can never find any backed up APK files that have the words "Titanium" or "Backup" in it. I've never been able to find the file!
