View 3 RepliesI was using the calculator and set it down on the table. The screen went to landscape mode and gave more options for a scientific calculator.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHome screen used to do landscape immediate and always. Now it doesn't do landscape at all unless I slide the keyboard out and it pops into landscape immediately. Then when I close the keyboard it goes back to portrait even when I'm holding the phone in landscape. Not sure how to fix this, help please.
View 26 Replies View RelatedI looked thru lots of calculator apps but they seemed to be either tip calculators or scientific ones. I'd like on that's just like the calculator i use at my desk. I know how to figure out what the tip amount would be so don't really want one that does only that. and the one that seems to be in my Droid doesn't have a % key, unless i've missed it. I just don't see the need to have 2 different kinds of calculators taking up space on my phone.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI just realized that you get a scientific calculator when rotating the phone. I plugged in a few items and noticed the sine, cosine and probably other items are WRONG!
View 5 Replies View RelatedThere has to be a better calculator out there, I mean CA MON! I am not looking for a scientific or some uber math calculus crazy calculator but I am looking for something that isn't so .
I mean we have a DROID! Why is this Calc so CRAPPY! Please tell me there is something out there, in the market, or even a 3rd party APK file.
I've had my Eris for a week now, first it quit playing videos, and won't animate weather radar, now it won't rotate to landscape mode, this makes typing with my fat fingers tough, anybody have any cures or solutions?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just bought the Nexus One unlocked for AT&T and really like it. 1 wierd thing is that when I rotate the phone counter clockwise, the screen goes to landscape just fine; but when I rotate it clockwise it does not go to landscape "the other way". And, if I'm holding the phone 'normally' and rotate it 180 degrees ('upside down') it doesn't follow. My youngest daughter delights in telling me that her iPhone does this with no problem. What's up with that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm listening to Pandora and I go to my home page. If I rotate the phone, or even set it on my desk, the phone makes an annoying sound that interrupts my music. I turned off system sounds and I still get the noise. Any ideas on what I can do to get rid of that annoying noise.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if i can set the phone to show the apps menu in landscape mode if i have the phone sideways? is that possible?
View 10 Replies View RelatedOk I first just want to say that this phone is so nice, and I was so scared to get it from everybody on this thread complaining but I don't see why.
-I had no mounting problems.
-Memory is awesome compared to the g1
-I don't see no lag. I think people say this because of the vibrate when touch method samsung has on it.
-I actually like the touchwiz interface over the boring silver android. Messaging is awesome with the picture of the friend you messaging.
-The cube is pointless though, but friends love it.
-It's plastic but it really don't feel cheap at all.
-Battery life isn't too good, but what smartphone battery is? What else do you expect from a phone with that nice of a display screen.
-No reboots
-I haven't had a force close yet, but when I had the g1 i had at least 10 a day.
-Has to be the nicest camera phone since my old n95.
-There was complaints about overlapping objects on the home screen. I love that it can do that.
-My only complaint is the 4 buttons on the home screen. They are just simply pointless.
I feel alot are just being too picky. This has to be the best android phone behind the nexus one. Some questions though...
1.Can the home screen go into landscape mode?
2. Anyway to lower the brightness of the camera flash. It's blinding lol
3.Im trying to install some apps from my g1. (cracked) Most install but some don't. Is this problem because the apps are only for android 1.6 + ?
4. Anyone have any super thin case's? Where did you find them?
5. On the commercial about this phone with the comic artist. He changed the color of the picture with some app. What app is that? Is it pre-installed?
6.Does the phone lag any with a new keyboard installed? I was going to install swype or better keyboard.
7.Is there not any light's to show that the phone is charging, or when you have notifications?
8.This might sound ******ed, but is the screen glass?
I know if you change a android phone from portrait to landscape sometimes the app relays its self out on the screen.. so how do I simulate rotating a phone with the AVD? On the Blackberry emulators there's a button in the menu to turn the phone, but I can't find it or any option on the Android ones?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen using Google Maps the phone dims out, how can I stop this? and one other question, can the dialer and apps menu go to the landscape orientation?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen opening the physical keyboard, the phone first comes out of sleep, and then switches from portrait to landscape. This is typically not too noticeable, but sometimes it takes up to 5 seconds. Is there a way to make it so that opening the keyboard just resumes this phone already in landscape? Also, has anyone figured out a way to get the home screen to respect switching to landscape when rotated, like all well-developed apps do?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow come the vibrant does not support landscape mode on the home screens? Sprint variation of the Galaxy S is able to do this. Froyo ?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy nexus has ICS.. I have recently successfully booted ICS on the Samsung Conquer with my custom rom, everything is going good the only problem I have is I cannot go into landscape mode at all, apps that need landscape are screwed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedGot very annoyed in the car earlier. Running Google Navigation, and couldn't get it to go landscape.Experimenting tonight, it seems it'll only go portrait with the power connector at the bottom, or landscape with the power connector on the right.Try the other way and it won't flip Means I've got to either move the mount on the windscreen or suffer the cable being diagonal across the dash. Not the end of the world I know, just seems like an oversight.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know how to rotate whole system screen from landscape to portrait? The platform is not G1 or any other phones, it's just a normal ARM platform. Not only one application but whole system.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs the Eris's home screen supposed to rotate to landscape on the home screen ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedHow to rotate the screen to landscape (or portrait) by programmable way? I am trying to make it independent when user rotates the screen.
View 2 Replies View Relatedthere are those of us, who due to whatever reason (helmet cams, preference for posture, etc) want to record videos in portrait mode.
What happens (on my sgs2) is that the video records just fine in whatever resolution I pick... but it records it 90 degrees rotated to the right.
The solution that is usually offered is that "you can rotate it after!" yes... but then you have to CROP part of the image and lower the resolution. 1920 x 1080 recordings end up having to be cropped so that half of the view is cut out , or even more if you are maintaining a real aspect ratio.
The questions about "why not just hold it sideways", are just as pointless as the statement by steve jobs telling iphone4 users that they were holding their phones wrong.
is this something that can be remedied ? or has google decided that people should only record videos when their phones are in landscape mode?
i understand that we cant see landscape resolution in portrait mode; but can't we just have a viewport into the camera, but record in properly oriented landscape mode? so that playback on a computer will show the full resolution, even though we will only see part of it on the phone..
dialer in kitkat is always in landscape mode when call is ongoing....how can we set it in portrait mode
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt may be already stated in one of the previous threads, but I was curious as to which button combination do we hold in order to send the Fascinate into recovery mode?
View 10 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a way to keep the screen from going to sleep mode while in alarm clock mode? Last night was my first night with it and I put it in alarm clock mode, but the screen would time out with in a minute and wont stay illuminated. Am I missing something here?

View 3 Replies View RelatedTrying to get ready for the 2.2 update. Running into a major snag - on my phone (under USB settings), there is no option for "Kies mode." All I see are mass storage and media sync... Nothing else.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone found a good wifi tethering app that supports infrastructure mode? I tried android pre-14 on google and barnacle but both were just adhoc mode. I know google pre-14 will work once we get to 2.2 os, or it least it does on the EVO, but not sure when that is happening for the Fascinate.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyways, Is anyone else having issues with the Speakerphone? When in speakerphone mode the person on the other end isn't able to hear anything I say. However im able to hear them just fine on my end.
So the main issue is that for some reason my mic isn't picking up my voice when I am trying to use the speakerphone.
I basically have no idea what I'm doing so I take no responsibility for how you use the information below, nor any responsibility for any issues it might cause. After following the rooting process and installing Titanium Backup and the 1-Click Lag Fix. I decided to explore and I was actually able to remove some of the bloatware apps without being in recovery mode. After obtaining root ADB Shell (the shell with a # sign instead of a $) I basically did the following commands:

I just found out how to get in Android system recovery <2e> mode. I have 4 options
1.Reboot System Now
2.Apply SDCardlUpdate.zip
3.Wipe Data/Factory Reset
4.Wipe Cache Partition
If I choose number 4, do you guys think It will destroy my phone?
