I was in an area with some not so great reception this evening and at one point my text messages wouldn't send.I decided to update my profile and prl just to see what it could do for me and the updates failed. Oddly enough, I could still access 3g data, just no text.I could make phone calls, just no outgoing texts (can't confirm incoming).Anyway, on my way home, I sent myself a text and it worked fine, but I still couldn't connect to update my prl or profile which I've never had a problem with before. I got home and did a quick search and found this thread: Samsung Moment.Can't update Firmware, Profile, or PRL.I'd follow up with a call to Sprint to see if this might hopefully be the case, but they aren't available right now. Anyone else having trouble updating their prl or profiles tonight?

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust an FYI, there is a new version of Beautiful Widgets on the Market that fixes the weather update issue so many people have been reporting. Open the Market, hit the options button and go to "downloads", and you can update from there. Just got the update myself and among some other neat changes, the weather actually updates properly now.

Please only list issues that you've personally had. If anyone has a solid fix to the issues listed, a fix that would be just as good or BETTER than an official or suggested fix, then go ahead and suggest it.No LED Notifications: I know you can get NoLED, but you shouldn't have to. I would think it would be completely possible to have the four bottom buttons serve as the LED and turn on and off when you have a notification.Seeing the capacitive buttons in the dark: Why don't they turn on when I unlock the screen? Why don't they stay on when I'm using the phone? Not a huge issue as I kind of already know where everything is by heart, but could easily be fixed like the LED Notification.List your issue and I'll add it to the list! If anyone knows if Samsung has a Twitter account, or if someone knows an email address, we should really let them know these issues and try to get them fixed!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am looking to root my brothers phone to fix the lag issue...I have a couple questions though first...
His GPS is off by almost 30+ feet...it never comes in closer (My Droid X will go in to almost 5 feet or less.). I don't know a LOT about the Vibrants root/lag fix...
Also his accelerometer is off by about 7 degrees (through Android Sensor Data app).
So my question is...does the lag fix have any form of fix for the radios/accelerometer sensors in there as well? Also do you have the stock sbf in case the phone does need to go back in to return it to stock?
If you open Marketplace then press the menu key then downloads, you will go straight to all apps on your phone and all that have updates will be listed first. I found it by accident and saw I had 40 apps with updates.

Do you have to rename all your files to update.zip to run them. I only have 4 options in the recovery screen it there another recovery screen with more options? I'm running clockwork 2.5
View 8 Replies View RelatedThought it would be best to create a single thread that has a list of all the fixes we have got for the moment so people don't continue to say it is "broken" (note all fixes including using zefs 8.3 kernel and modification of the CL14 OS/modem file): 1) Network Location works great now (it might put you a little away from your "actual" location (by a couple hundred feet maybe) but it still puts you almost were you are really located, and since we use this for "general approximation" of location (gps is the only way to get a reliable location fix) i will say it is working 100% (note this is with gps and wifi turned off. so we know it is actually fixed) 2) Optimization of the kernel allows it to actually use the processing power of the S3C6410 Chipset instead of using generic drivers. this means it is actually meant for the phone and works much faster. 3) Battery meter has been optimized to give 5% reporting levels and adjusted to semi-accurately monitor battery against known calibration curve of the battery (based off of Behold II battery code which uses the same battery). No longer drops you to 15% within 2 hours and turns off most functionality. 4) e911 in pattern lock mode now pulls up a dialer that only allows you to call 911 instead of automatically calling the minute you hit the button 5) reports of pandora/slacker/other streaming programs not having the same stutter starts. 6) keyboard lag has gotta incredibly better.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm hoping someone can help here. I recently installed the OTA update and then figured it would be a good time to reset the phone to factory settings. So I did that, went into the Market to redownload my apps and noticed that only some of them were listed. Searching for the missing apps yields nothing. Some of the ones that are missing include Slingplayer, Logmein, Fandango, Samsung Desktop Dock Application, Pure Calendar Widget, and my Exchange by Touchdown key. They aren't listed in the downloads and searching for them again yields nothing. I have tried performing a hard reset on the phone (twice) but that doesn't fix the issue. I also tried clearing the cache in the browser but no luck.

My wife also has an epic and she got the update this morning too. We put our phones next to each other and she has full bars. I am lucky if I get one. It looses service constantly and is looking for service. Could the update have done this, maybe I just never notcied. Could I have a bad radio?
View 2 Replies View Related4g working right before the update. After the update (DI18 OTA) it shows 4g being connected (2 4g bars) but nothing works. Internet, speedtest app, anything that requires internet times out. Anyone else experiencing this problem any suggestions? I have turned it off and on but that's not helping.

Epic 4G getting an update today to enable Samsung Media Hub | Android Central
I don't know if it was the update that was pushed to me today, but the stock email app hasn't updated my two accounts since before ten this morning. My data works, because I just checked my hotmail through the dolphin browser. But it & the other account I have set up on the phone won't refresh, even when I manually select it on the menu. Anyone else having an issue or have a fix? works after another restart, hope I won't have to deal with this often

My gmail won't send emails now that I updated to di18, am I the only one with this problem? the emails come in fine, but nothing goes out. works fine from gmail in the desktop.

I dont want to do it simply because it says "mandatory" where do they get off telling me that some update is mandatory and not even supply a change log or anything telling me what it is
I need to know what this is before I update in case it makes something suck or breaks something - this is why I hacked my Palm Pre because the webos updates screwed up something and I had to root it and edit some file to prevent the updates from happening, Palm didnt give you an choice, after a couple of times it would apply it anyways even if you didnt want it, I dont want this to happen here so do I have to root my epic just to prevent things like this?
