Samsung Captivate :: How To Send MMS Over Edge
Aug 1, 2010After messing with the settings and tryna figure this out, I think I came to a conclusion. When I set the camera setting on the phone to 3.2MP and the Picture quality to Normal, I was able to send an MMS Picture message over the EDGE network. I started trying to figure this out when I download FXCamera and noticed that it would send an MMS over EDGE. So I went into the settings on that program. I noticed the smaller picture with less quality sent, and the better quality picture didnt send. And I waited, and waited, and waited and still nothing.
So I put on the Default Camera App. I had it set to Super Fine and 5MP. I could never send an MMS picture that way. Switched the settings....3.2MP and Picture quality to Fine, and Bam. The picture sent. Give it a shot, tell me how it works out for you.

Jul 24, 2010so you know when you use this phone , it turns off like every 30 -40 sec when we not using it , we have to turn on the screen by press the power button on the side. THEN I HAVE TO unlock by slide.is there anyway i can click on the screen to show up the screen to unlock .

I now turn off/on mobile Internet with Toggle Data widget, that changes APN type to "-" so it can't work. I am asking this because i use GPS tracker app. And I can turn it on with sms with code: "gps_tracker_start But if i want to report my location I need to be connected to Internet. So I could see my android phone even if it is not connected to internee. So is there any option to turn on mobile Internet remotely?

Aug 23, 2010Anyone who's GPS that may be working know how turn by turn with google maps or whatever works in egde or even non service areas? I used to be on verizon and never had this issue on their much better network, but I was just curious how good it is on AT&T, I have yet to find out because of the GPS issue on this phone.

Oct 22, 2010Basically, something happened, my phone's battery died, and as usual,I just switched in a new battery, turned it on, it went to the splash screen, the glowing S.and then turned off.I tried to charge the phone, that didn't work.I thought the battery might just be dead, so I charged it over night, but nope.After I put a battery in, it does it's usual swoooshhh noise, turns on, S glows, then turns off.Then it won't turn on again until I take out the battery, put it back in, after which I turn on and the same thing again. Just for more information, the screen sticks on the glowing S for a reallllyyy long time, and it doesn't go through the "Turning off" animation anymore either. What's weird is I didn't even do anything at all with it this past week, other than play Angry Birds, call/text some people, and use the alarm on it.No idea what went wrong at all.

I am currently using the Android Keyboard but I want to use the Samsung Keyboard because it fixes common typed errors (although the Android Keyboard Settings says it does too, but it doesn't) However, when I switch to Samsung Keyboard, every letter I press it makes an awful clicking popping noise. I know there is no setting under Samsung Keyboard Settings for Sound on Keypress but there is one under Android Keyboard. I have turned it off but the Samsung Keyboard keeps making the clicking/popping noise.

Samsung Captivate :: How To Get Screen Turn Off While I Have It Plugged In?
Jul 19, 2010Just had a quick question. I'm new here and new to Android in general, so hopefully this isn't asked often. How do I get the screen on my Captivate to turn off (and stay off) while I have it plugged in? As it stands, my screen dims, but does not turn off. If I hit the power button, it will turn off, but as soon as I get a notification it will turn back on and stay on. I have the screen settings set to turn my screen off after being idle for 30 seconds. This works, but only when it is not plugged in.

Oct 18, 2010I always keep my system volume turned all the way down. I don't know why anyone would want their phone to make obnoxious sounds when turning off. When do most people turn their phones off? Church, movies, meetings, basically anytime you want it to be QUIET. Anyway, I digress.
Something keeps turning up my system volume. Often when my phone shuts down due to low battery I hear the stupid shutdown sound. I think it may also have happened a few times when powering the phone off manually. I am rooted and I know I could rename the files, but I am getting tired of working around the bugs on this thing and having to keep track of all the files I rename. I try to keep it as "stock" as possible.
Any ideas on what might be turning my system volume up?

Sep 25, 2010I put my phone in my pocket, and forgot to lock it.Something setting wise got changed and now it clicks/beeps every time i type. I went to settings>sound and display>audible selection.its unchecked.ive toggled it, powercycled the phone and even yelled at it.

Sep 16, 2010Not sure if anyone has faced this issue on Samsung Captivate? I searched the forum but did not find this posted. So I took a flight and found out something weird
1. Enable Flight Mode
2. Turn Off the phone
3. Turn on the phone
4. Disable Flight Mode
-You see the 3G icon appear now. Try accessing the internet, go to the browser, or sync your email - it does not work.
5. Turn off the phone
6. Turn on the phone
-- Now everything should be working as normal
I tried it a couple of times again to be sure and every time the issue occurs. There was no wifi access when I tried the above.

Jul 20, 2010The phone pops up an alert when the battery is fully charged, saying to unplug. First of all, is there a reason for doing so? (Is it bad to keep it plugged in once it's fully charged?)
