My phone was working fine today until suddenly I couldn't place calls, send texts, recieve calls, or browse the internet on 3G. I still have bars (like two) but I can't get anything to work. Every once in a while there will be a pulse in signal bars and I'll update date and time. Anyone know what's going on?

I have the Samsung captivate and it usually has no problems connecting to WiFi networks but it can't connect to my home network. It recognizes the network but I can't use send/receive any data. My two laptops have no problem connecting to my network but I can't get my phone to. Additionally, my Wii has the same problem. It recognizes the network but can't do anything. Its probably a router problem but their support was useless, so I thought I would try here.

My phone's stock gmail app will show new emails so I look at them and then they are all read, showing 0 new.But when I login to the web browser version, 5 minutes or even later(up to hours later), the web browser gmail is not updating to show that I already read the emails.I'm on JH2. So maybe it is a bug with the firmware?Or maybe a setting got changed but I'm not seeing how to handle the issue.

It seems that since the last update I cannot connect my captivate as mass storage to my macbook. Even with the Debugging on. I mount the usb.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have connected the Captivate to my Windows 7 64 Bit PC. I have downloaded the updated drivers and installed them. I have tried all the different types of connection as mass storage etc... Nothing seems to work. I can see the phone in Device Manager and in the explorer it shows three removable disks; however, when I try to open them it tells me to insert disk.
Does anyone know how to connect this to my PC?
I had 1.25hrs of talk time use 60% of my battery. Not a good sign. Also, the reception has been very unstable, wavering between 1 and 3 bars all over town. My cheap Nokia go phone I was using had 4-5 bars everywhere. The wi-fi signal appears to show less bars than my other phones.

And my second question, my phone doesnt connect to my computer right. I plugged it in, it said it didnt have the right software or something, so i went and downloaded the the Vista 64 bit thing thats stickied on here. I plug it in, and the "you have the wrong software" thing was gone, but nothing else happpened. The screen says its connected and it vibrates and i hear the noise thru the computer, so what am i doing wrong. I read somewhere that you pull down the little bar at the top and hit dock or something like that. I cant do that. If i can pull it down theres no buttons to hit. Can someone walk me thru this process? FIXED
Is it possible to create a sort of wifi lan network (i.e., make the captivate work as a local area network router without internet access)? this could potentially be useful: quick filesharing, improvised LAN for games, etc...

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy husband currently has the Epic. Picked it up for him launch day and sent it out to Iraq the next day. He received it today.He had an Evo before the epic and never had this issue. the issue he's having is, obviously he doesn't pick up sprint service out in iraq, but with his evo he was able to pick up wifi and connect to google talk, qik, etc.his epic is allowing him to connect to a wifi signal, but it won't allow him to connect to google talk, qik, etc. it keeps saying "can't connect to server". like i said, he never had this issue with the evo.

1)select mass storage
2)scroll the top menu down and select mount USB
3)press mount
Really weird, but when my phone is in standby, I have one bar. But when I try to connect to a call it jumps up to 3 or 4 bars. Anyone else having this issue or do I have a faulty phone?

I love my aria, i got it 9/29/10, for free from best buy because my contract expired... but ive already used 20MB and i only bought a 200MB plan... i might go to 2 gigs, but for an alternate, since my billing cycle ends the 28th of every month... if i disable application syncing, and mobile network from the hold menu... can i connect to my home wifi network, and go on the internet from there without that using any of my data plan?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried searching and didn't have any luck with results, so I apologize if it's been covered, but I'm having difficulties connecting my Captivate to my PC via USB to transfer pictures/data/music.I've had the phone for a few months now but this is the first time I've really attempted to connect, as my pictures are piling up and I'd like to back them up for safekeeping.I already had the drivers downloaded months ago when I first got the phone but when I connected it today, I got a message that Windows (Win 7, 64-bit) failed to recognize the device. I went out, using the link in the Captivate Guide here (which is where I got them initially), and redownloaded the drivers to ensure I had the appropriate/most current version. Installed them, made sure the phone was set to 'Mass Storage' in USB settings, and still fail to connect when I plug the USB cord in. Windows fails to recognize the phone as a device and errors out each time.I tried putting it into USB Debugging Mode, but still get the same thing. I tried 'Ask on connection', I tried Kies, etc and nothing will work.Am I missing a step here, or doing something wrong? This has been extremely frustrating.
