View 1 RepliesSo. Hulu works kind of on the skyfirfe browser. Thought? Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI prefer the style of build-in browser. It looks more neat to me. However, it sometimes has trouble bringing up flash player even on youtube. It also won't open the log in page when I am connected to college wireless. Moreover, it would struggle to open some websites like Oregon Coast- Travel Lane County(If you change the date and click search, nothing will happen.)Well, skyfire can solve all these problems. It always open any kind of videos for me as long as it's flash. When I connect to wireless that requires log-in on website, skyfire would pop up the site as soon as I open skyfire. The most important part is that it can open all the websites I need.I really love the feeling of built in browser but how come it sucks that badly? I installed skyfire since 6/4, and I barely use it since I really prefer the default browser. But now I really hope google or HTC can fix and improve the performance of the browser.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSkyfire IS awesome. It plays videos that the regular browser doesn't play And they look awesome. I played a full COPS episode and 24 for about 20 minutes. Sadly, it started a House video, but cut off after about 5 minutes. But it shows promise...I'm still checking it out, watching a Bones show now. BTW, the videos I watched were on the 3G mobile network, not WI-FI. Hopefully it will hook up and work with my SUV entertainment system via TV out.
So far:
Most FOX TV shows play
CBS seems to be an infinite buffer/load screen
NBC shows play fine, watching "Office" right now.
Still exploring others
Overall, the browser itself is far superior to the stock browser, IMO. Pinch to zoom works, variety of settings, videos load in their own window. Pretty neat stuff.
Just wanted to know if anyone installed SkyFire browser on Galaxy R10?I get force close error everytime.Had same problem on R9 but went away after reinstalling and reboots,on R10 it wont work period.
View 9 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this has been asked before (didn't see a thread on it, anyway), but I uninstalled Android's default browser (Browser.apk) after reading from this post that it was safe, as long as another browser was installed.Afterward, Dolphin and Opera seem to work fine (although I hate Opera, but that's another story). Skyfire, however, just comes up to a black screen, and doesn't do anything else until I decide to exit.Is Skyfire just an overlay of features onto the stock browser, or could something else have disabled it?Also, is there a place/way I can re-download/re-install the stock browser? I mean, I guess I could re-flash my ROM, but that seems a bit excessive.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo, using Skyfire, I thought I could remove the stock browser, and I ran Liquid's script to remove it. Now Skyfire doesn't work. I'm guessing I needed the stock browser. Can someone send me the browser apk and let me know where I need to install it to?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to test, with Selenium or a similar automated testing tool, how my webapp behaves on iPhone's Mobile Safari and on Android browser. How can I do that?
I usually test my app by hand setting Safari 5 with User Agent = "Mobile Safari", I used iPhoney as well but it's too buggy IMO.
I never had a problem until today and now my evo is having trouble connecting in places it used to work great in. And when it does connect, it (a) either doesn't work at all (browser, speed test, nothing registers an internet connection) or (b) works for a minute, then (a) happens. I have an allegedly "good" 4g signal too. Tried soft reset and battery pulling, hoping that the problem will go away before resorting to a factory reset...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm writing an Android JUnit test and want to copy/reset a test fixture file (it's an SQLite database file.) If I were within the main application, I know I could just place the file in the assets directory and use getResources().getAssets().open(sourceFile).However, this API appears to be unavailable from the ActivityInstrumentationTestCase2 class. Is there an easy way to copy a file over from the testing PC, or should I just keep a fresh copy of a test fixture on the device and copy it over a temporary file?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using ActivityInstrumentationTestCase2 to do some test for an activity. I get a button in the setUp() method like this: protected void setUp() throws Exception {super.setUp(); act = getActivity(); btn = Button)act.find ViewById ( R.id.bike_button ); // this button has been defined in layout} Then I use this button to perform a click in a test method like this: public void testBikeButton(){ //click the bike button btn.performClick();}

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have never used JUnit before, and now I'm trying to set it up on an Android project.My project under test is fairly complex, including some JNI, but my test project, at the moment, is completely trivial. I have found many examples (that look totally different) online of how to make a test project, but it seems that no matter which one I follow, I get the same results.Here's my JUnit project code:package com.mycompany.myproject.test;
import android.test.AndroidTestCase;public class SimpleTestCaseExample extends Android TestCase {public void test_testOne() {fail("Just Always Fail");When I run, I see the following in Logcat:
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=test_testOne
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 0
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: id=InstrumentationTestRunner
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: current=2

stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: stream=
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=testAndroidTestCaseSetupProperly
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 1
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: id=InstrumentationTestRunner
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: current=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: class=com.mycompany.myproject.test.SimpleTestCaseExample
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: stream=.
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: numtests=2
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS: test=testAndroidTestCaseSetupProperly
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS_CODE: 0
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_RESULT: stream=
stdout Test results for InstrumentationTestRunner=..
stdout Time: 0.07
stdout OK (2 tests)
stdout INSTRUMENTATION_CODE: -1
But, I get the following in the Console:Launching instrumentation android.test. Instrumentation TestRunner on device emulator-5554 Collecting test information Test run failed: No test results I have tried a variety of different things, messing with the basic TestCase class, or the TestSuite class, or a variety of other options. I tried to just go for the most trivial example because I'm really still trying to learn how this works.Whatever I try, I see this error.
I'm working on a school project and I'm researching testing possibilities for Android applications. On this page: http: // developer . android . com/ resources / tutorials /testing /hello android. Google writes about a unit test. Is this really a unit test? A Unit test will not integrate all classes and will not test in his context. So my opinion is it is not a Unit Test but an Integration Test.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a project (that compiles and runs in the emulator.) I have a test project that tests part of this project. This test project also compiles with no problems, but when I try to run (test) it in the emulator, I get a NoClassDefFoundError exception on one of the classes my test class tests (I hope that made sense!) when it starts to run in the emulator. This is coming out of the adb log. I looked in the bin directory (of the test project) for the missing class, but could not find it... Should it be there? I found no reference (apk, etc) of the project I am trying to test either in the test projects bin directory. How does the test project get the classes it needs to test against (in the classpath, I assume.) How do the tested classes get moved to the emulator? I did try running the app before testing, so I know it is installed and runs correctly. BTW, I am using netbeans with the nbandroid plugin.

If I go cheap and don't pay the $xx or so for a real VerifySign certificate, and just use a self-signed certificate to sign my app, will it appear as a second-class citizen on the Android Market? Specially, will the user get a prompt like "this app is signed by a possibly untrustyworthy scheming bastard, do you still want to risk your life install it"? If not now, will such a policy be enforced in the future?
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhat's the difference being "Export Signed Application Package" and "Export Unsigned Application Package"? Under 'Signing for Public Release' in the dev guide it says you must:
1. Compile the application in release mode 2. Obtain a suitable private key 3. *Sign* the application with your private key
But then it continues:
"To prepare your application for release...To export an unsigned .apk from Eclipse, right-click the project in the Package Explorer and select Android Tools > Export Unsigned Application Package."
But below this under "Compiling and signing with Eclipse ADT" it says to "To create a signed .apk, right-click the project in the Package Explorer and select Android Tools > Export Signed Application Package...When you complete the Export Wizard, you'll have a signed .apk that's ready for distribution"
Do I need my app signed or unsigned for distribution on market place?
This is not a question about how to sign an .apk file. I want to know what does signing actually means and how it is implemented.
Inside the .apk file there is META-INF folder and inside that there are two files.
First one is CERT.SF contains SHA1 hashes for various components and looks like this:
Name: res/layout/main.xml
SHA1-Digest: Cox/T8fN1X9Hv4VqjH9YKqc/MsM=
Name: AndroidManifest.xml
SHA1-Digest: wZ418H9Aix1LNch3ci7c+cHyuZc=
Name: resources.arsc
SHA1-Digest: P+uoRrpFyVW6P3Wf+4vuR2ZSuXY=
Name: classes.dex
SHA1-Digest: cN3zXtGii9zuTOkBqDTLymeMZQI=
There is also a file called CERT.RSA. I assume it is the public key to verify the signature.
My question is, where is the signature for the whole .apk file is stored? And what is actually signed? It could be either .apk file used as a single binary object and this is signed or CERT.SF is signed which contains individual hashes for different components. It would be also much better if you can point me to the documentation of the detailed signing and verification process.
My app developed on sdk 1.1 was fine to install on g1 1.1 - direct from eclipse run - as exported unsigned - as the .apk from the /bin. now i developing it on sdk 1.5 - works direct from eclipse run - DOES NOT install the exported unsigned - DOES NOT install the exported signed (not prob while signing) - only install the .apk from the /bin. when i try to manual sign the .apk from the /bin i get a zip error from jarsigner.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Email application. I get a "non-trusted certificate" error when setting up mail for IMAP. This is expected because I generally self-sign my certs. Though, what is not expected is that there seems to be no mechanism to accept non-trusted server certificates. No self-sign certs? That's a deal breaker. There has got to be a work-a-round.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to let eclipse compile always a signed app and run it on the mobile/emulator
I nearly never use debug and so always when i switch between my developing app and the app i publish i have to deinstall the app. quit nerving.
Would be way cool if there is an option to automate the signing so i always work with the same packet.
I need to do is download some basic text-based and image files from a web server that has a self-signed SSL certificate. I have been trying to figure out how to use HttpClient to do this, but getting the SSL to work is a nightmare that seems to be way too much trouble for such a simple task. Is there a better way to perform these file downloads? Perhaps through a WebView or Browser feature? Reinventing the wheel of making a simple HTTPS GET request is a major pain, and is significantly holding up my development schedule.
