Android :: Skyfire Working Again For Hulu?
Jul 4, 2010Top 10 Hulu Hacks and Power User Tips. this article is saying you can use skyfire on hulu, Ive not been able to get it working recently, i know they patched it a while back but it is it again working? and if so are there special settings to get it to work properly?

Jul 2, 2010I prefer the style of build-in browser. It looks more neat to me. However, it sometimes has trouble bringing up flash player even on youtube. It also won't open the log in page when I am connected to college wireless. Moreover, it would struggle to open some websites like Oregon Coast- Travel Lane County(If you change the date and click search, nothing will happen.)Well, skyfire can solve all these problems. It always open any kind of videos for me as long as it's flash. When I connect to wireless that requires log-in on website, skyfire would pop up the site as soon as I open skyfire. The most important part is that it can open all the websites I need.I really love the feeling of built in browser but how come it sucks that badly? I installed skyfire since 6/4, and I barely use it since I really prefer the default browser. But now I really hope google or HTC can fix and improve the performance of the browser.

May 1, 2010Skyfire IS awesome. It plays videos that the regular browser doesn't play And they look awesome. I played a full COPS episode and 24 for about 20 minutes. Sadly, it started a House video, but cut off after about 5 minutes. But it shows promise...I'm still checking it out, watching a Bones show now. BTW, the videos I watched were on the 3G mobile network, not WI-FI. Hopefully it will hook up and work with my SUV entertainment system via TV out.
So far:
Most FOX TV shows play
CBS seems to be an infinite buffer/load screen
NBC shows play fine, watching "Office" right now.
Still exploring others
Overall, the browser itself is far superior to the stock browser, IMO. Pinch to zoom works, variety of settings, videos load in their own window. Pretty neat stuff.

Oct 9, 2010Not sure if this has been asked before (didn't see a thread on it, anyway), but I uninstalled Android's default browser (Browser.apk) after reading from this post that it was safe, as long as another browser was installed.Afterward, Dolphin and Opera seem to work fine (although I hate Opera, but that's another story). Skyfire, however, just comes up to a black screen, and doesn't do anything else until I decide to exit.Is Skyfire just an overlay of features onto the stock browser, or could something else have disabled it?Also, is there a place/way I can re-download/re-install the stock browser? I mean, I guess I could re-flash my ROM, but that seems a bit excessive.

MP3 Works In Browser But Not In Final APK?
Feb 2, 2012I'm working on a fairly simple web based app. Basic functionality is push a button and hear a sound. It's all done in HTML and JavaScript and then built using Phonegap Build. It works perfectly in Android's browser. But when packaged into an APK and installed on the phone, the sounds don't play.
I'm still fairly new to Android development, so I'm just looking for some direction. I downloaded a logcat viewer, found where the mp3 files are being loaded up, but nothing stands out as an error or problem. Here's the basic JS code that should play the sound.

The PlaySound function is called when the button is tapped. I've done console logs to ensure the function is called properly.
General :: File Browser Works Over Subnets?
Feb 17, 2013I've been trying to set up a tablet to connect to Windows shares on the companies domain - all legitimate. I have been asked to look at their use within the company.
It's a standard Server 2008 based domain.
The main problem I am having is that the wireless is a different subnet to the main network.
The file browsers I have tried so far are not apparently capable of routing over subnets - due to smb (which the browsers use) not being a routable protocol so I am told.
The question is are there any Android apps that uses IP Routing to find shares rather than SMB.
I hope the above makes sense. I am going off what I have been told. I can connect to shares on the wireless subnet itself so this seems to all make sense to me.
Are there any such apps?

May 21, 2010Please help. Ever since official update that sprint did at the store it seems the stock browser will foreclose. The only way I can get it to be stable is by going to google search that came with 2.1. Anyone have a suggestion....if I factory reset it works then goes back to foreclosing

Nov 19, 2010Got a brand new phone yesterday. Upgraded it to Android 2.1 before using it. In general, phone is functioning properly, however none of the applications (i.e. YouTube, Gmail, Maps) will work over the 3G connection, but the Web Browser does function ok. The apps will work over WiFi (which isn't much use if you're trying to use maps or gmail on the go). I have tried restarting phone (battery out restart). It is not a signal strength issue, I am getting HSPA with full bars and it still times out with "no connection detected" (or variations thereof, depending on the actual application). I can work around this using the web browser based clients for these apps, but as they aren't streamlined they are a PITA to use.

Aug 4, 2010I was able to install Android 2.2 and Falsh Player 10.
I've got Froyo and Flash Player 10.1 but what can I do with them? None of the Flash sites that I use actually work.
Hulu doesn't work - yes I have my AUString set to desktop not mobile.
MLB Live pitch by pitch (the free one with the animated batter showing pitch location) doesn't work either! The mobile version works but it isn't nearly as good as the flash player version.
Anybody know how to make Hulu work or any other cool flash player web sites? I'm not into games at all. No reason to watch little bits of movies or tv shows either. I do have TV.com but that only shows one of the TV networks.

Aug 19, 2010I'm running the new cyanogen mod 6 RC3 and I tried to watch Hulu and it wouldn't work, website or widget. I did the about:debug UAString thing. nothing. I was running Adobe Flash Player 10.1.92.8. I uninstalled Flash and installed 10.1.72.7 and now hulu works great. is this weird to anybody else?
