Samsung Behold 2 :: Check Last Unplug Time
Dec 16, 2009Its 2pm and i have 15% battery left. I cant figure out why. I am thinking my wife bumped it unplugged last night when our son woke up (he is teething). I think on android 1.6 it tells you the date and time it was unplugged. I just cant find it on 1.5, i have spare parts and havent found it in there either.

Jun 24, 2010I've got no data plan from t-mobile and despite this have been able to access gmail via the gmail app through 3G.Yesterday I was forced to preform a hard reset (volume down+call+end call).After the reset I connected to my Wifi and logged into the Google Network as I did when I initially got my phone.I've found that I can access everything as before including Weather Channel App, My T-Mobile, as well as Sync Calender via 3G, but whenever I try to Sync or Refresh Gmail or Contacts it fails to connect. (I get "! No Connection").

Mar 13, 2010my wife's BH2 is having connection problems. When using 3G/Edge/etc... she's unable to access anything that requires a connection. Facebook, her weather widgets, gmail, browser, etc...
I assumed a factory reset would work, but is there anything I can before resetting?Nevermind. Apparently I can get connection now. Facebook for Android is still giving me that connection prob.
Samsung Behold 2 :: Root Not Sticking / How To Fix?
May 30, 2010I keep losing root access for some reason. Foe example I can load any rom but after about an hour I cant use apps that require root. Like cache mate or titanium backup. The apps tell me I dint have the required credentials. So I go to better terminal and type "su" and wait for the "#" so that I know I have root but it gives me an error. So the only way to get root back is to reboot phone.

This kernel is intended for use with the OTA 1.6 update ROM andmicrohaxo's Behold II OTA 1.6 Tweaked ROM. If the phone fails to boot try flashing the "unroot" file at the end of the post or reflash your previous ROM.
2shared - download Root-BH2-1.6.zip
Unzip and flash with Odin. Install Superuser.apk by running on the phone off the SD card or pushing to /system/app with ADB after flashing for system install.
No App2SD in this one.
Includes:
/system is now rw by default ADB is root by default 'su' and 'busybox' version 1.16.1 (located at /sbin)
Superuser Whitelist 2.2.2 (by ChainsDD) installed separately
If there is a lot of interest in getting App2SD in this I may revisit it. For now my Android time will be shifting to BH2 ROM development.
If you ever want to "unroot" flash this file: 2shared - download OTAkernel16.tar.md5..and uninstall Superuser Whitelist.
Samsung Behold 2 :: Unable To Root B2 To 2.1+ Ourselves?
Jun 22, 2010Excuse my lack of knowledge, but... why is it that we are unable to root the B2 to 2.1+ ourselves? We did it with 1.6 way before Samsung announced anything. I thought Google publicly release the source codes to each Android OS. Can't we take the source and modify it to be usable on the B2? Coudn't we possibly take 2.1+ from another (possibly Samsung) phone and transfer the data over? We know Samsung's claim that the B2 could not handle 2.1+ is pure BS.

You will see the PDA; Phone; and Software Version numbers in this section
The T939xxxx6 for PDA AND PHONE and then
Software Version - ending in .006 on the last line.
I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.
Samsung Behold 2 :: Loosing Root And Not Working?
Mar 29, 2010Ever since rooting my phone for the first time (and I have followed BH_MAN instructions to the last T) I have noticed one thing: I have root confirmed and it works great, but If i plug my phone to the laptop and use the SDCARD (transfer photos or music or etc...) after I unplugg (ejecting it properly first) and everything returns to normal in the phone, except that I loose root access. Better Terminal Says:

And until I reboot my phone root doesn't work again.

Mar 3, 2010So I had previously rooted my BH2. I used both the Galaxy and the newer BH2 Stock from BH MAN. Since I was having that annoying random reboot problem, I decided to use my 14 day period and just get a new one. So far so good.
But now I'm sitting here with it out of the box. I really miss having it rooted... mainly the speed of the phone. But I'm wondering if I should just wait until this little update comes out before spending the time to root and then odin and then root yet again. Anyone have any thoughts?

Mar 18, 2010I recently converted to BH_MAN stock BH2 image + root. I'm having the following situation:After the install and performing the Master reset everything is working fine, I proceeded to download some applications and everything was operational. I rebooted my phone (for some reason I do not recall right now, happened 2 days ago) and when it came up, I had several applications corrupted: There was an icon in the same place that the original was with the same name but different icon, and if I clicked it would advise that the application was not installed. I would go to my downloads and the application management sections and see the application and it wouldn't work till I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it.Now, last night I also uninstalled the T-Mobile "My Account" software and let my battery drain out completely to have it sync correctly (that was another problem I was having, batt would say I was at 20% and I had 4 bars in the screen, fixed now) and once I let it charge completely I powered it on and some applications were uninstalled again, but the T-Mobile Account software was there again! Can anyone explain if this is a permanent problem or is there something to be done?

Since I'm still waiting on the Update myself, I've had a brief chat with my Source at Samsung & he confirmed there isn't nothing life chaning in the kernel regarding problems. All fixes was addressed mainly to the OS it's self.
The Faster I can get the System Dump of the Update, the Faster I roll out updates to the system.img for everyone..

Mar 12, 2010as the title says superuser and root for apps is not working. i installed BH_MAN's stock update rom (which was supposed to have root for apps, as far as i know) and cannot use apps requiring root. also superuser doesn't seem to actually be working. Also my phone rightnow when I check the battery information , it said " Android system 88% of battery" " Phone Standon 6% " , Is this because the new Android 1.6 making my battery drainning so fast because rightnow I am using with a little of playing around , WIFI , and then I turn off the WIFI again , the battery still didn't last for at least 24 hours . Apr 9, 2010My phone is not rooted yet. I just got it, first Android phone... taking my time.
Question 1:
I got the Open Home .apk, and while I like most features of Open Home, I don't like the icons it uses. I'd rather use the default Android icons. And I can't figure out how... there are no "default Android icon packs" out there. So I got clever. I opened my .apk with WinRar on a PC, found all the new icons I didn't like, and replaced them with the standard icons (which I cleverly extracted from the Android SDK).
However, I guess I wasn't so clever, because the new modified .apk won't install. I guess the creator of the .apk put in a protection of some sort to not let it install if it's been modified? Way over my head at this point...
Question 2:
If I root my phone, will I be able to access the root structure from PC over USB link? I was thinking, maybe the modified Open Home .apk won't install, but if I were able to get into the already installed default Open Home, and then replace the icons, maybe I'd have more success that way.

Sep 19, 2010I just recently purchased a behold 2 from t-mo it came with 1.6 loaded but i can not stand the touchwiz, i know BH_man has a custom rom for 1.6 with no TW but as much as i have looked i cant seem to find a step by step on rooting the phone and then installing the rom. i have rotted my my touch without issue several times but this Sammy phone seems to give me nothing but issues and the root guides i have found were all for the phone before the 1.6 update if anyone out there could help me out by giving me a step by step i would be really grateful. also im not really a noob i am good with computers and phones i just need some clear cut instruction if anyone can help me out please let me know or if there is a guide out there i am missing please post the link...thanks everyone

Motorola Droid :: Root Problems - App - No Root Access
May 10, 2010I'm trying to gain root and having some problems...
I had my droid rooted for some time, running droid mod 1.0. All was well until recently the battery life turned to shit (followed all guides to resolve recent OTA update issues, but still shitty.) Because of this, I decided I would go back to stock, since I couldn't justify the rom's features if the battery would kick out after 16 hours. So I returned to stock no problem and received the OTA to upgrade to 2.1.
After getting the upgrade to 2.1, I wanted to at least have root access to run a few programs. I followed this guide:

to get SPRecovery back on my phone. Everything went well, it all checked out. After that I used SPRecovery to install the root update.zip. This worked fine, the root access app is in my tray and everything seems to be fine... HOWEVER when opening programs that require root access (setcpu and adfree are the ones I've tried) they say I don't have root access. I have tried reinstalling the update.zip file to no luck. USB debugging is ON. Is there a special update.zip to gain root on 2.1 (I saw no posts about that)? Is there some setting I missed this time around that I didn't the first time I rooted?
