Samsung Behold 2 :: Can Home Screen Go Into Landscape Mode?

Mar 10, 2010

Ok I first just want to say that this phone is so nice, and I was so scared to get it from everybody on this thread complaining but I don't see why.

-I had no mounting problems.
-Memory is awesome compared to the g1
-I don't see no lag. I think people say this because of the vibrate when touch method samsung has on it.
-I actually like the touchwiz interface over the boring silver android. Messaging is awesome with the picture of the friend you messaging.
-The cube is pointless though, but friends love it.
-It's plastic but it really don't feel cheap at all.
-Battery life isn't too good, but what smartphone battery is? What else do you expect from a phone with that nice of a display screen.
-No reboots
-I haven't had a force close yet, but when I had the g1 i had at least 10 a day.
-Has to be the nicest camera phone since my old n95.
-There was complaints about overlapping objects on the home screen. I love that it can do that.
-My only complaint is the 4 buttons on the home screen. They are just simply pointless.

I feel alot are just being too picky. This has to be the best android phone behind the nexus one. Some questions though...

1.Can the home screen go into landscape mode?
2. Anyway to lower the brightness of the camera flash. It's blinding lol
3.Im trying to install some apps from my g1. (cracked) Most install but some don't. Is this problem because the apps are only for android 1.6 + ?
4. Anyone have any super thin case's? Where did you find them?
5. On the commercial about this phone with the comic artist. He changed the color of the picture with some app. What app is that? Is it pre-installed?
6.Does the phone lag any with a new keyboard installed? I was going to install swype or better keyboard.
7.Is there not any light's to show that the phone is charging, or when you have notifications?
8.This might sound ******ed, but is the screen glass?

Samsung Behold 2 ::TWLauncher Keeps Crashing / Can't Get Phone To Home Screen

Jan 3, 2010

I have my Behold rooted and was running open home just fine. I saw a lot of people having better performance running GDE, so, I uninstalled open home and that was when all hell broke loose. TWLauncher keeps crashing the phone and I cannot get the phone to a home screen. I tried the recovery mode, but nothing is working. I can't bring it up in adb because I can't get to the settings of the phone to set it up to be seen.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Internet And Other Media Features Refuse To Load Up Home Screen

Dec 28, 2009

This is really pissing me off. I turned my phone off and now when I turned it back on it stays in the bootload android screen. If I press the cube button it goes to cube and then I'm able to navigate around to internet and other media features but it refuses to load up the home screen. Is there anything I can do without having to do a hard reset. I don't want to reload all my apps over again.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Home UI App

Mar 13, 2010

I have a Behold 2 (duh) and I was looking threw the Application Manager and found that there is a HOME UI app that's there but not active. Now I have GDE installed on my phone but even if I clear the default settings the HOME app isn't mentioned in the list when I press the home button.

Is there a way to activate this Home app over Twlauncher without root or loading other ROMs? or is that app another thing or is it just for libraries and formality that its placed there?

Samsung Behold 2 :: PandaHome Instead Of Home++

May 4, 2010

So I'm have been using PandaHome for awhile and really started to like it. When I updated to Warheads I really disliked Home++. So I pulled the PandaHome .apk, renamed it TwLauncher.apk, and replaced the Home++ TwLauncher. So far everything has been running fine. Just wondering if it is possible for anything bad to happen as a result of this.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Get Default HOME App Back?

BH_Man's ROMs are great and everything, but I'm a little disturbed that choices get made for me like which Home screen app to use and there's no way to even switch back - the default home screen app is gone. How can I get the default Home app back? I just want the stock system, I thought these ROMs were supposed to be lightweight stock ROMs

Samsung Behold 2 :: ROMS (Phone Lock & Home++ Menu)

May 4, 2010

1) If your phone is waking up repeatedly upon pressing lock, and you don't want to restart: HOLD LOCK & PRESS THE ROUND MIDDLE BUTTON!

2) Home++ Menu Restarting on each press, MANAGE APPLICATIONS+FORCEKILL. If you are feeling lazy and don't want to go into the Manage Apps Menu, simply bring up and 'return button' the menu 5 times, it'll lock up, and kill it from there.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Clock Widgets Stop Refreshing The Time - Remove Home++?

Aug 10, 2010

Recently I installed BHMAN's 1.6 ROM without TW, and I'm having a problem where sometimes my clock widgets stop refreshing the time.

Now i've searched for this problem and usually the best solution to this is to delete any task managers installed, which I cannot because the task manager is embedded into Home++, so I'm thinking the only way to get rid of the task manager is to delete the whole Home++, correct? I'm using ADW launcher at the moment.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Phone Flashes - Goes Through Boot Screen And Then Screen Turns Off

Apr 13, 2010

Tried rooting so I started off flashing r8 of bh_man's 1.6 rom. Went through the setup, odin turned blue to pass and I let the phone run past the android system and then the screen turned off.

Thing about it is that the phone is still being detected by the computer and odin. It's like my phone is on a screen lock but not responding to when I push unlock.

Ive tried every custom rom and each one does the same. I try to go back to stock and most of the time the program closes, when it doesn't I try to flash it and it goes through the process but goes on forever. One time I let the timer go on for 2 hours and it was still on 5/9 completed.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Screen - Color Banding - Flickering

Jan 16, 2010

Just wondering if anyone else had noticed faint flickering issues with their Behold 2 screens? I especially notice it with smooth gray scale gradients, soft focus wallpapers, or solid color mid tones. Also, some color banding in grey mid tones... looks like faintly alternating horizontal lines of green and magenta. I work in digital imaging professionally, so I really notice such things. Can't decide if I'm being overly critical, or if my phone has an issue.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Faint Scrolling Lines On Screen

Dec 27, 2009

Has anyone else noticed some type of faint scrolling lines on their screens. I notice it more when on lighter backgrounds, like the blue ink splash. Both my behold II and a friends has the same thing. Is this a property of OLED screens, some type of refresh? They are horizontal lines and dont always cover the whole screen.I really read how awesome an OLED screen was supposed to be, but eh I think the Iphone screen is still nicer. Any thoughts on these lines, I doubt this is limited to two phones.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Water Damage / Only Get Vibration And Sounds But No Screen

May 4, 2010

So I went to the beach with friends this weekend and had my phone in a ziploc bag along with other items. Well, it seems that one of my friends went into the bag to get something and had their hands completely wet. About one hour later I went to check the time on the phone and there was about two inches of water in it. I immediately removed the battery, SIM card and sd card and left it out to dry.

Got home some time later and did the rice trick and left it there for the entire weekend (just switched its position every 8 hours). Tried to turn it on this morning and it powers up, makes sounds and vibrates but the screen doesn't come on. If I touch the screen in some spots I still get vibration feedback and sounds but nothing else.

Samsung Behold 2 :: Phone Rooted To 1.5 - Stuck On Android Screen

Apr 22, 2010

I believe it's called boot looping? It originally happened after I rooted my phone (original 1.5 software) following these directions: How To: Root the Samsung Behold 2 | The Unlockr. After that, I deleted DinerDash2, Midnight Bowling, Where's Waldo, IM, Talk, Amazon MP3, MyFaves, Telenav, HotSpot, Audio Postcard, Postcard.apk. When I tried to reboot my phone, I was stuck on the Samsung screen. I finally got the screen to go away, but a message repeatedly popped up saying the TwLauncher closed unexpectedly. Then I tried using ODIN and installing BH_Man's factory v1.6
http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-behold-2/63612-port-behold-ii-factory-1-6-a.html.

I used the adb commands to delete the bloatware again. Restarted the phone and got the same problem. (Except I was stuck on the android screen.) I tried to install the factory v1.6 again, then immediately did a factory restore and then rebooted my screen once it loaded. Everything seemed okay. I uninstalled the stock games and rebooted again. It seemed to be working. When I uninstalled more apps (including CubeLauncher) and restarted the phone. What do I do? Did I uninstall something I am not supposed to? I think I might try installing the 1.6 No Twiz Kernel. I am sick of these "TwLauncher closed unexpectedly" messages.
