Has anyone taken a stab at accessing ad hoc connections with the BH2? I tried following this tutorial meant for the G1, but I couldn't install busybox, nor could I find the tiwlan.ini file.

I would like to not have to buy a data plan for my phone, so is there any way to disable all data connections besides when connected to Wifi? any help is appreciated.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWith the stock Touchwiz software you can not access the normal Android Settings menu for Location and by default the "Network Location" function is disabled.I installed Open Home (which is a must for this phone imho) and now I can access the classic settings menu.I enabled Network Location then launched Google Maps. After a second or two it centered on a road in Bellevue, WA that is not too far from T-Mo headquarters, problem is I am on the East Coast of the US. I pulled the battery and reboot the phone.Upon reboot I opened Google Maps again and it quickly found my approx location correctly but then within a second or two it switched back to this phantom location in Washington state.Has anyone else experiences this? If so is this a glitch with my phone or a known issue with the TouchWiz/Android OS? I really need this functionality in order for the phone to be useful for me. Anyone know of a fix for this?

Is there any documentation that explains how this process works? Which access point is being used? When that access point becomes invalid, will it automatically switch to another accespoint? etc. I would like to use only WiFi access points and otherwise fail even tho 3G or GPRS could be available, is that possible?

None of the methodology in the below are working for me....
1. placing the http_proxy in settings.db 2. -http-proxy in console
I only get a phone signal about a third of the times i start the emulator. I've read on these groups that you have to have an internet connection before starting the emulator. Since i'm connected to the internet 24/7 :) this is not the problem I've also read somewhere that you should try do disable all other network connections (which i've done) and the problem persists. View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently brought a HTC Hero from Three (3) mobile on PAYG, unlocked it with no problems and got myself a sim only contract with T-Mobile.However I am trying to access the internet over the t-mobile network and it wont let me get anywhere, always bringing up the 'Web page is not availiable' screen. I have no issues running the internet over wi-fi and I am receiving calls and texts over the t-mobile network so I assume its not a sim issue (the contract includes data allowance btw). Also the sim that 3 mobile gave me with the phone accesses mobile internet perfectly.Does anyone on here have any suggestions as to what things I could try to rectify this problem.

View 13 Replies View RelatedAlright whats up people I was recently searching through and through for a way to get mobile internet without paying that ridiculous android price so as I was searching I stumbled across a regular behold forum at Samsung Behold Forum - New Proxy (TMobileX (Free Internet!)) - UPDATE: Analysis 01.07.10 -> 1500 Users because someone said free internet for it and I gave it a run to see if it would work with our behold 2 and surely enough it does.
Instructions on how to use proxy:
Open up the (default) browser on your Samsung Behold.
Type in the following address into the : tmo-x.co.cc/tmobilex/
Type in the address you want to visit in the form on the page and select whether or not you want to use my HTML trick (free; allows you to see sites in full HTML not 'WAP-stripped').
After many attempts to try and use the terminal emulator that is already preloaded onto the behold 2 , and many failures..After trying out different Terminal Em.'s and always having my phone lag because they wernt made for it...i have finally found a way to get terminal emulator working with no lag or no slow down in performance... First you must have root,of course, Next, Use an app called root explorer or something similar and goto the folder /system/app/ and find the two files Term.apk and Term.odex, and MOVE them to your sd card from your phone,you want them gone from your system/app folder After that simply goto the market and search for Terminal Emulator , re-download and there you have it, Working term. em. on the behold 2.Peace Ladz.

So i would like to root it and run a factory1.6 no twiz rom on it, but I'm having issues while doing it!....
I was succesfully able to get adb to detect my phone serial. but whenever I type in: adb shell /data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
in the CMD, it returns with "permission denied"
Does anyone know if you can use any multitouch because any app that says it has multitouch doesn't work

I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.

It's via work, and on a business tariff that boasts unlimited data.After a couple of huge bills, it turns out that apparently 3g data is unlimited, but 2g data is charged at the usual eye-watering rates. Phone Bloke is checking with O2 whether they are serious.In the meatime, I'd like to disable 2g data connections.I can't find a way to do that.

Sprint release the 2.1 update for the Samsung Moment today. Here is the link to the update on Sprint's website. Will this update work for our Behold II? I'm willing to try to install it on mine (I'm currently running 1.6 no twiz). What do you think guys?

View 9 Replies View RelatedG1 and my Behold 2 her phone had good reception and the behold had nearly none. Half the time I don't get phone calls. They go straight to VM. My roommate's BB pearl gets double the reception mine does. My other roommate's Nokia gets even better reception. All on the T-mo network. Another friend who has a G1 same thing, he has reception I don't. Not to mention the other problems I have had. This is my 3rd Behold II by the way. Been replaced twice and back to Samsung for 3 weeks once.

Has anyone gotten a better keyboard on a Behold 2? Every time i install Better Keyboard or the voice type, my Behold locks up (4 hard resets yesterday). I get an error about twsettings, the phone starts to mess up, i reboot, and it locks up. I cant get it to finish booting. It freezes on the android logo screen (45 minutes). I like Better Keyboard.I really dont like the Samsung keyboard but im sick of hard resets.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI picked up a Samsung Moment through Sprint back around June. I wanted the new Sprint 4G phone but figured I would make due with the Moment until the craze died down. Anyhow, I own a small firearm forum,Semi-auto Rifles. This is my main reason for going with a driod phone. It allows me to monitor my site away from home without popping out my laptop. Well for the last 2-3 months the Moment did it's job flawlessly. I was able to use it to maintain my site...even when my cable modem blew up one time and some cable guy disconnected our cable by mistake.My problem started this past weekend when all of a sudden my Samsung Moment started having issues locating my website. I keep getting the same "Web Page Not Available" message. Now sometimes it will allow me to access the home page and then freak out on the forum index page. This is the only site I have trouble with, I can access any other site and surf until I'm blue in the face. I took my phone down to the local Sprint store and they said my phone was out dated. So after 15mins and deleting all my Apps, they had my phone working again. Then come about 2-3hrs later, I started getting the same Web Page Not Available" message. During the whole time my site has been up and running with zero issues.
Anyhow, does anyone have a clue? I'm lost and this phone is worthless if I can't even access my own website. While I was at the Sprint store, I started tooling around on the new HTC 4G phone. It pulled up my web site and worked for about 10-15 minutes before it started giving me the same dang "Web Page Not Working" message. So I'm not sure if it's a phone thing or a Sprint thing? Then for the interest of Science, I started surfing other related forums to see if maybe Sprint was blocking firearm forums. I was able to tool around on other gun forums for about 10 minutes with zero issues.
I am new to Android and have the following problem: When I get a sms I get a notification in the upper bar. I scroll down the bar and access the sms by clicking on it. Now I can read the incoming sms in the bubble but the notification does not go away. I have to click on the bubble to get the complete sms (even if its only a short text) so the notification goes away.
I think this is really stupid that I have to actually click on the bubble (even if I already can read the whole text) so the notification goes away.
In other words: I want it to act the same way as the iPhone. Is there any way?
Anyone have a problem accessing email from a hotmail account on the sgs?
